Because Koei has more than one game on their schedule. Just because this is the first game from them this forum cares about, doesn't mean their other 12 titles a year can be ignored. And they don't want to overlap their releases and compete against themselves if they can help it. (And MOST games take 6 months- a year to translate and port from Japan.)
And a lot the Naruto and Dragonball games are made stateside actually, thats why they premiere stateside first.
As is, I'm looking forward to Warriors Orochi 3 coming out stateside at the end of March.

I just hope that we'll get this game in Europe as soon as possible, I can't understand Japanese, so it's impossible for me to import this game. I can't really enjoy a game which I can't understand^^
I know the story so far so having the game in Japanese would probably not be as bad…maybe the mission objectives will give me trouble. HOPEFULLY there's usually that awesome someone who translates the objectives in a FAQ for an imported game*

If its being released in America… yes it does need a dub. The TINY harcore fanbase that doesn't care isn't the target. They want a wide audience.
If you're lucky, they'll have an option to switch between dub/sub.

It's obvious we haven't gotten more "One Piece" games in North America because sales weren't good enough for Namco Bandai, if you're also not just talking about Europe.

Its not that crazy when you consider thats over most of the current platforms (but some are for multi-system), and a couple of them probably aren't going to make it stateside. But thats about an average year's worth of Koei output. Largely expansions and slightly upgraded re-releases of games they already did on multiple platforms… and two or three new games.
And don't forget. OP is NOT as popular in the states as Naruto or Dragonabll are (were?). The built in fanbase and sales is... not good. Previous games have done badly, but thats another thing we can possibly blame 4Kids for.
So Buggy, Baratie, Arlong, Drum, Alabasta, CP9 and Marineford are confirmed. I really hope they at least also have the two missing big arcs Skypia and Thriller Bark that would make the game almost perfect.
Impel down was confirmed in some artwork and you can see magellans hydra in that artwork so he's also basically confirmed as well. Skypia and thriller bark and shabondy would have every major arc, then others like the remainder of east blue, whiskey peak and Davy back fight would help fill the missing slots

I can't answer your question but if you have a decent pc the Dolphin emu will run the One Piece wii games. I played Unlimited Adventure in 1080pi and in 3d to boot. I agree that a native pc game would be great. Think of the modding potential…

If we're doing this, having a lot of voice clips overlay a bad game does not make. Generic RPG elements slapped on like cheap make up and other dull elements make a bad game.

Just a question to anyone who has ever played Dynasty Warriors, will this game have any exploration to it, such as exploring the towns, side missions etc. Or is it just a linear path can only go one way just wave after wave of enemies?
If the Lapahn would get in over Kuro as a boss, that would be funny and sad at the same time. I'm guessing it's a normal enemy, though.

Just a question to anyone who has ever played Dynasty Warriors, will this game have any exploration to it, such as exploring the towns, side missions etc. Or is it just a linear path can only go one way just wave after wave of enemies?
There are maps, its not a straight line. No towns to explore, its not an rpg. There are sub missions in the course of the level like "rescue that officer" "fortify that base"and "go beat this set of levels on hard mode to earn your ultimate weapon" but not anything like what you're probably thinking of.
Basically yes, its wave after wave of enemies.

Oh so there are multiple weapons? Didn't know that. I see how that works for Zoro, Usopp, nami and franky but i wonder about the others. Crocodile looks awesome. I hope the lapahn is just a big enemy. I don't mind it being a boss but only if all the other necessary boss fights are in this

As much as I love Skypiea and don't care about Enies Lobby, I'm glad they're doing this the way they are. This is exactly what I was hoping for them to do. Flesh out the arcs actually being included, so they don't just end up being "Get to end, beat boss." So on Drum, you'll have to fight some Lahpan bosses before getting to Wapol, which is a great idea. I'd rather them have 15 stages with an average of 2-3 major enemies, than 30 stages with 1 each. They can start adding more arcs they've skipped over in the 2nd game.

Jango has a versatile weapon that can be used at short and long-range (plus, the hypnosis). I don't see the problem.

That's what I mean though. If Syrup and Skypiea were added, they wouldn't have as much development time for Drum and Enies Lobby. As a result we wouldn't have anyone but Kuro, Enel, Wapol and Lucci (and maybe Kaku because of his popularity) to be enemies in those arcs. So I would rather them hold off on some arcs for now, flesh out the arcs that are in (as they have with the Lahpan, Jyabura and Blueno), and then in the next game they can add Skypiea with not only Enel, but Wiper and maybe more, and so on with other arcs.

And meh. Personally I'd rather see Eneru in the game than CP9 or Rabbits to be honest. It looks like EL arc will be a big one anyways (since it appears that it'll make you use Usopp, Robin, Franky and Chopper in anyways.)
