This guy.
Nico Robin. I just love the mysterious feel around her.
^^ admins we've got an advertiser here.
my one piece favorite characters are:
Vergo: i like how he was able to combine Weapon Fighting, Haki and Rokushiki (the very own techniques his enemies use) to form his own fighting style consisting of hard hitting kicks and punches, shigan stabs and a bambo staff that he gets out whenever things get serious. it's a shame he he won't show up again as im very interested in seeing him display more of his skills.
Akainu: unbreakable force of will, he wanted ace and luffy dead and didn't want to stop until he kills them and he almost succeeds. he did the most damage to the pirates in the marineford battle. killed ace, injured WB to near death, and scarred luffy (in an attempt to go for his heart). plus he's got some kick ass lava powers and a weird invulnerability to haki attacks.
Rosinante: the most selfless character in the series. he wants to stop his brother from hurting people. helped a dying boy get a very rare devil fruit just to save his life and he refused to shoot his brother when the latter didn't mind about that.
Marshall D. Teach - Antithesis to Luffy, has his own ambitions/goals… not afraid to use certain dodgy methods to pursue his goal (his crew needs more screentime)
Monkey D Garp - His character conflict interested me
Aokiji - One of the most intriguing members of the Navy (ex at the moment)
Enel - an interesting antagonist, don't want him to return however!
Buggy - hilarious comedic relief character, love him a lot.
Captain Kuro - Easily one of the best antagonists Oda has created, surpassing many of the crappy villains he's come up such as Moriah, Hody, CC and Doflamingo
Kaku - don't insult giraffes! He grew as a character and his dynamic relationship with the other members were enjoyable to read
Wiper- one of the greatest characters in One Piece in my opinion
Shanks - He's intrigued me from the beginning... awaiting for his return
Jinbei - Fantastic design, abilities, characterisation with the humans/fishman were great. He needs to join the crew! I may actually like the SH'S a bit more (I used to like Robin but she's become stale over the years)
Nekomamushi - for being the best character Oda has created in the last 10 years in my opinion
1st : Roronoa Zoro - Will always respect this guy.
2nd : Monkey D. Luffy - Like his ambition and personality
3rd : Not sure alot of charcters come to mind.
Captain Kuro - Easily one of the best antagonists Oda has created, surpassing many of the crappy villains he's come up such as Moriah, Hody, CC and Doflamingo
Fujitora and Kizaru
Basil Hakwins (obviously), Caesar Clown and Corazon.

I'm sorry DQDF but I didn't like his Dressrosa incarnation.

It´s Don ;)
I respect your opinion, it´s okay not to enjoy certain types of character.
But just thinking about the effort Oda put in DoFlamingo compared to his early works, it´s kind of harsh to dismiss his improvement in that regard.
Especially compared to a character with this much less artistic fines in it .
That said i also definitely like Kuro, he´s for sure the most underrated villain in the beginning.
When I originally created my username, it was a year and a half before Kaido was fully revealed. There was hype for him of course, but I was making a big gamble, as Kaido could easily turn out very bad. Luckily, he didn't, and I love his various quirks. He is currently my third favorite character with room to grow. First and second favorites are Usopp and Doflamingo.

I understand Don ,I just ilke characters that are still enigmatic, ala Mikitaka origins from Diamond is Unbreakable and 'The Greek'/Spiros from The Wire. I loved Doffy's flashback and his 'throne' speech was awesome but he suffered from Plot Induced Stupidity and should have easily killed both Law/Luffy (Law had some severe Plot armour in this arc, the constant red herrings by Oda were annoying). Perhaps 'crappy' being used for Doffy is in correct. I felt very very disappointed how Oda handled this character in his own major arc, didn't ilke the direction he took with this character. Doesn't help that I found his crew to be very annoying except for Vergo perhaps.
I loved Kuro, very underrated. Crocodile was also great and Enel was an enjoyable character to read.
Blackbeard, that's a great antagonist right there

Plot armor and coming with it stupid decisions, which will bring a villain demise…guess each villain will share this faith.
With the yonkou that will make you suffer even worse, knowing they should normally be able to destroy Luffy in an instant^^
Still with all this plot related stupidity Doffy was towering above all that as a threat, where we couldn´t be sure how on earth Luffy would overcome him, which i think is a great feat only achieved by Crocodile before that.
I really love what Dragon stands for, and I really wish we saw more of him. His ideals from what we have seen are my favorite. I do love Luffy's personality for the most part though. So I guess Luffy. I love that he is always comedic but can get serious when it is called upon.
Rorenoa Zoro: He's my favorite character. I think he'll always be. When he doesn't do a lot for a time (like now) others tend to get close to him, but I still always put him first. He's just pure badassery. I know many are not entirely happy with how he turned out post ts, but I couldn't care less. I still love him. If anything, he became even more badass. And I actually have to admit, I do like the more serious characters way more than the funny ones. Least of all the ridiculous once. (Reason I never liked Franky!)
Nico Robin: Staying with the Straw-hats, she's my second favorite SH and favorite female in OP. I also really like Sanji, Luffy and Nami… But I love history, and when I was young, I wanted to be an archeologist myself. What can I do?
Sir Crocodile: I can't really explain it. He's my favorite Villain and favorite Shichibukai. I guess I like the badass once, but I only really liked him, when Impel Down started. Only when I rewatched Alabasta afterwards did I start really liking him. Guess when I was younger I just didn't care for Villains or Antagonists that much. Still don't for the most part... Don't get me wrong, there are some amazing bad guys/ former villains: I really like Dofla, and Buggy... and I surprisingly found myself loving Caesar Clown... But I never really cared for most of the early villains, not even Rob Lucci or Eneru. Croc on the other hand is just awesome. Especially since he's more of a antihero/Antagonis/don't really know where he's going kind of guy... Speaking of Caesar:
Caesar Clown: Yeah... As soon as WCI is said and done and we know where he's going, I'm still stubbornly putting him into my Top 10. I'll quite certainly downgrade him later, but at the moment I very much care for him. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those who wants him for Straw hat (at least not anymore), but I still demand that he'll be saved and not left to rot with an angry Big Mom! I worry for him and the worries keep him very prevalent in my mind, even if we haven't really seen him for a while.
Smoker: I always loved him. Since his first introduction. There was a time, he was my number two, very very very (sometimes to) close to Zoro. He lost a bit post ts... I'm a bit disappointed in how weak he seems to be... and hin his new style honestly. I liked the wild white short hair better than his new military style. Also thought the whilder hair made him look more like the rebellious marine he's supposed to be. I still like him though... Or I still have hopes in him.
Eustass Kidd: I immidiately liked him in sabaody. Favorite Supernova (aside from Zoro and probably Luffy). I'd just hope we'd see more of him. I also think he should start showing us some feats. I mean I can't just believe he's as powerful as Luffy without seeing some proof. Plus I'm really worried for him. Yeah yeah... Sure he's not going to die... I'm still worried.
Iceberg: hahaha... I don't know.... when I rewatched Water 7 a few years ago, I just started loving him. And I never stopped.
(To complete my top ten, the other three would probably be Nami, Luffy and Mihawk... but that varies from time to time.)
Favorite Straw Hats
Brook. I've always appreciated the synergism of the tragedy of his backstory and the emphasis placed on it through his devil fruit ability. He's the sum of what I enjoy the most about characters in this series. A unique appearance, total goofball personality, who will step up and be a badass when necessary.
Robin. Out of all the Straw Hat crew I find her dream to be the most intriguing. I also enjoy her more eccentric traits. Like whenever she points out the morbid truth of a dire situation to the horror of those around her. Or how she finds cuteness in things that are not considered conventionally cute.
Chopper. There's just something really cool about a character going from being a wild animal, to having aspirations of becoming the greatest doctor in the world. Even better is that alot of his power comes from and relies on his medical skill.
Favorite Antagonists
Gekko Moriah! For starters he gives us a good look at what kind of person Luffy would be if he lost everything in the New World. It's not a pretty picture, he would be a shadow of his former self. Though apparently he would still be pretty awesome if Moriah's any indication. Then there's the small detail of him basically being a giant monster who piloted an even bigger monster like a giant robot. Couple that with his lazy devil may care personality, the fact he owns the best ship in the manga, his powers, his zombie horde, how could he not be my absolute favorite?
Arlong. He had such a huge influence on Nami as a person, the gruesome details of it all really leaves an impression. When we learn what made him the prejudiced abusive individual he was, I like that the point of the revelation doesn't make Arlong a sympathetic figure. Instead it shines a light on an ugly facet about society in One Piece. Making Arlong a monster born from the status quo.
Charlotte Linlin. There's still some unanswered questions about her as I make this post, but i've enjoyed everything i've seen from her immensely. So I can't imagine she won't remain a favorite of mine as we learn more about her.
Favorite Minor Characters
Zunisha. What did it do to warrant being sentenced to wander the seas? Why can it only defend itself when given the order to? Who's responsible for punishing it in the first place? Zunisha is quite the fascinating little mystery. I like how haggard it looks, sells the idea of it being ancient really well. I think not having it mind that a whole civilization lives on its back was a nice touch. Leaves the impression it enjoys the company, a small comfort for an otherwise solitary vagabond. Lastly it gave us this little gem from Robin.
Eccentric Robin is the best Robin!
Laboon. He makes Brook more awesome. I just want to see him and Brook ride off into the sunset together.
Sea Kings. The oceans are littered with sea monsters. That's a really cool aesthetic in a story where seafaring is the primary means of transportation for the protagonists. I wish they were more of the threat though, I can't help but feel the idea has gone to waste somewhat. I mean just one of these things were able to casually make Shanks an amputee.
must be luffy!I am playing luffy fighting games now!try it!
My Favorites would have to be Luffy, Doflamingo, and Sanji.
How do you find carrying the Leatherman 6? I'm considering one as a cheaper alternative to the piranha..
Eustass Kid, Zoro, Monkey D Dragon, Sabo, Luffy, Law, Doffy, Sanji and X Drake (although haven't really seen much of him) - I think he is pretty cool able to turn himself into a freaking DINOSAUR!
1. Buggy
2. Ivankov
3. Franky
4. Mr.2 Bon Clay
5. Sogeking
Sanji
Zoro
Crocodile
Buggy
Pudding
… in no particular order
Usopp, The only Straw Hat to accomplish his dream.
Franky, obviously. But he was cooler before the time skip. Not too keen on the bulky new look but I do like what it can do and his new inventions. Just want to see a bit more about the docking system, like it becoming a ship Megazord as someone drew a picture of.
Caesar Clown obviously
1. Ace
2. Garp
3. Robin
4. Nami
5. Luffy
6. Sabo
7. Jinbe
8. Otohime / Fisher Tiger
9. Hiluluk / Bell-merè.
10. Bon-chan
Something along those lines I guess.
Crocodile is my favorite but I really like Charlotte Katakuri (aka Dogtooth) now as well.
Mine is Robin and Nami and Zoro.
One seems like too little so I'll give my top pick and the next 4
1. Luffy
2. Sanji
3. Robin
4. Vivi
5. Ace
either law or ussop, it's hard
1. Robin
2. Sanji
3. Nami
4. Boa Hancock
5. Katakuri
6. Milhawk
out of the main cast nami (robin is a close second and sometimes more than nami but she's gotten so boring since the time skip,) i think she's a much better character than people ever give her credit for. she's resilient, adorable, cheeky, courageous, and she's the character imo that has come the furthest from the start without an alteration or fudging in basic personality. it may be that her backstory is so close to the beginning of the story that people seem to forget what she's been through and how she's grown. shrug i love her.
out of the extended cast vivi, smoker & tashigi, and reiju

I second this so hard. His whole upgrade thing felt like a weird way to power him up over the TS, as if he did less actual improving and instead just invented things–which is an upgrade in itself, of course. I agree on the bulkiness as well. His design, while flashy, is far less interesting now, aside from the hair, of course. But all joking aside, his backstory was so powerful for me--and the central element that tied together all of W7/EL--and it feels so forgotten in how his character is handled post TS. While I understand he's hardly been on the Sunny for more than a minute recently, I miss his interactions as shipwright.

It just seems like, if he's got the Shogun, why does his regular body need to be so much bigger? I would understand if there was something akin to a mini-Shogun, like a partial sized one that would be held up like a bunraku puppet so then Franky would need the extra strength to hold it up and pull its strings/chains and whatnot (because that would be hilarious) but without something like that, those bulky parts should be more like Sanji's Raid Suit where it's available but not worn at all times.

A detachable upgrade, most definitely. Who knows, maybe one day he'll take them off and his regular arms have secretly been underneath the whole time.

Well he does have normal-size hands inside his big palms but I don't think they're his original arms inside there, I expect from the shoulders on down it's all mechanical. Hard to imagine anymore what parts of him are organic and which aren't. But I still love when he got his face blown off in Vegapunk's old lab and he's all Terminator under the skin. How is this guy even still alive, LOL. But then his personality is also so damn quirky, I can't help but love the guy. He's that amazing blend of super strong but also extremely versatile in his fighting style and arsenal, so he's got the best of both worlds in terms of being not quite one of the Monster Trio but also skilled like Usopp and Nami, and without the cumbersome weakness of a DF user.
Luffy
Zoro
Shanks
Hancock
Robin
Nami
Fujitora
Zorro?
Liar
Mine is Sanji and Shanks
several..should i make a top then?
Only Trafalgar Law
I like Koby.
He has barely appeared in the official manga, but he was the first character in the present time we meet other than Luffy.
And his 0 to hero story seems like it would be as compelling to follow as Luffy's story. For his rank and power to be going up like it is, he must be having some fun adventures off-screen.
I wish we got a whole lot more with him.
It would help balance out the story between Luffy fighting for unbridled freedom and then a counter-balance about an emerging hero who is fighting to keep law and order in the world to save the people who just want to live peaceful lives.
I also like Perona and Sabo as other characters whose full stories I might like to see.
Out of the main crew, Sanji is probably my favorite, which makes me partial to his siblings too. I hope we haven't seen the last of Reju and the brothers. The fact that Yonji gave Sanji the raid suit maybe suggests that if any of Sanji's brothers can learn to be better, its likely to be the youngest. Plus, since Sanji has already beaten him one-on-one, there is nothing more Sanji has to gain through fighting him again.
Sanji now and forever followed by a close Zoro
