Discussing things such as justice, good and evil, the current state of the world, and natural human powers means a great deal to me and I find myself getting into discussion with my friends for hours on these topics. Even before finding myself hanging on the edge of myseat while Oda regails me with his take on these topics.
Thats exatcly what One Piece is… Odas oppinion of freedom justice and a person's right to govern themselvse. Being a man as it was instead of a sheep- I mean a citizen.
To get things started I'm going to give a few of my takes on things such as the world government; odas version and the real one.Next piracy. Then powers, yes powers (you have more than you believe). Finally what freedom really is. Hang onto your seats because you are about to go for a ride.
Firstly, let's look at his "World Government". It is a fanatical group bent on keeping the world in ignorance. Conroled by a small group of monarchs the average person has no idea exists. They hide behind a veil called justice, to "justify" any unjust action. They use this same word to take advantage of the ignorant by raising an army and saying it's mission is world protection. While, at the same time using this army to murder innocent women and children and destroy entire countries they deem the "enamy". The Monarchs government preaches freedom while branding the people who seek freedom as criminals and place bounties on these individuals heads. The army is made of misguided souls who either die become brainwashed or are killed by their supperiors for questioning the monarch's brand of justice. Not telling you something you already don't know right?

Well something you probably didnt know is that this system is alive and well here in our own reality! There are members of a secret sociey that only edjucated people know of. These people pull the strings in our government and control our media while mudering thousands of people a day in the name of their own justice.

You may have many questions about this such as who are these people? Why haven't i heared of them? Or maybe how does this relate to One Piece? I could go into great detail the methods of control they use as compared and contrasted with the world governments but I will save that for the discussion. Here is just the tip of the iceberge

Media (The 3 major news neworks)(the one main newspaper ran by the government)

This means Luffy is not technically a Pirate as his first act of piracy that awarded him a 30,000 beri bounty was defeating a tyranical murderous fishman and freeing and enslaved island. Why do you all think he was given this bounty at all? Oda dosent have plot holes everything in his manga happens for a reason down to small details. Another way to word this is why would a man who defeated a murderer be branded as a criminal? What Law had he broken? in the op world you have pirates such as arlong and then you have people like luffy who I would brand more of a adventurer.
In our world there are pirates. men who sail the Somalian cape usinc AK-47's and Rocket Propelled Granades instead of muskets and cannonballs. These men attack cruise ships muder captains and hold passangers for ransom
Each group is independant of the next. They have flagships and some men boast 50 ship fleets. Some of the ships are equiped with modern weaponry such as sonar, hose micro waves machines that make your skin feel like its melting and emp detonators. These men belong to no government and the government does little to nothing about their actions. Why? Because they can't! These men are not some new fad. Piracy in fact has not died down since the great pirate age back in the brown beard black beard days. only the media Coverage.
No in fact the modernday pirates are not restricted to somolia it happens all over the world. Nations without navies fall prey every day and kids living on small islands often dream of sailing the seas like these men to go on grand adventures.
Take a second to consider this… There are many hundres of thousands of small islands around this world. Many have little to no electricity (den den Mushis) And no internet (obviously) Where do they get their information? Word of mouth stories from travelers and the like. But I garuntee they know about whats really going on in this world than either you or me who feed off a steady die of controlled media. Even the internet has its disadvantages. You get information from other people who are stuck in the same trap as you are. This is a vast world don't think for a second you know a fraction of whats really going on.
For instance in odas comparison lets take the "red line"
The red line is a line of landlocked nations we have yet to even see. (except the few instances where its revealed the tenryobito reside there)
The red line is North America-South America- Antartica-Austrailia-Asia-Europ. Lay out any map flat length wise and you will see this almost solid line of land around the entire world.

This type of freedoom in one piece is equvilant to being a pirate. (not the plunderer)
Now we move unto powers. The powers of the people in the manga are fantasic but fictional. To my knowlege a man can not turn his body to lava and make the heavens reign fireballs. However the powers are all direct correspondants to some technology. you can Compare Akainu to our Rail gun. Capable of launching a projectile with such volocity that it atcually breaks our atmosphere then falls down to earth with the distructive force of a metorite coming within 3 feet of its target.

Technology is our devil fruit powers. As the saying goes Technology is a curse. But technology is but a tool of a humans real powers. These are the powers of the mind.
Where are memories stored? Do you think your brain cells have little pictures inside of them? No it is all elecrical signals and freqeuncies. Let me ask you this, has there ever been something you wanted, I mean truely wanted and you saw yourself having it? Then one day you wake up and it's there? This is a law of the universe as sure as the law of gravity. It is known as the law of attraction. Thoughts become things.
I've been playing with this law for a few months now after hearing about it , and I find if you stay within the natural laws
1. A body in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted uopon by an outside force.
2. Force equals mass times exceleration
3. For evey Action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
4.Matter Cannot be created or destroyed
Everyhing comes to you as long as the laws of the universe are obeyed. (Pleny of info out on the internet on this check it out)
Anyway, all of this is due to how our conciouness works. How we can communicate with our subconciouness. When I started with a program known as zox pro (watch some you tube videos on this its AMAZING!). It teaches you how to activiely communicate with your subconciousness and controll it. Your subconcious controls all of your involuntary actions down to the splitting of a skin cell.
There are different levels of brain activiy.Alpha Beta Deltla and theta. Delta is the most powerful and is acheived while you sleep. Some people can enter this state while awake during great emoional trauma. Such as teh woman who lifted the car off her baby. Others can enter it voluntarily. This is what I refere to as real life haki. With you have access to your entire bodies naural abilities and you can enhance or slow them down at your will.
Imagine if you could enter your subconsious and see everything your eyes have photographed through out your entire life? You would never have to study again. I never study and I get outstanding grades at my college using my subconcious. It gets deeper imagine controling your adriniline levels and having accesses to that incredible strength at any given moment. You could speed the process of your immune system and heal a cut super fast. You also would be able to focuse your eyes like binoculours on all of the light that it is processing.
Guess what? You all already have this ability. I am starting with my memory. After my memory is mastered and I have a full connection with my subconciousness I'm going to toy with the healing and adrinaline. Everyone is born with it then it is programed out of us. We stop photographing and start reading. We start thinking in words instead of feeing and pictures. We close the door to our subconcious. We cut off our haki. The level of control is entirely dependant on the person. Odas Haki is the ability to see character and plot out stories then take his hand and create it. Monks can raise and lower their temperatures. 5'3 Karateka woman break cinder blocks. Men can walk on hot coals. What is yours?
