How would you rate Elfen Lied?

I'd give it 8/10…It's the greatest, gorey anime I've seen...THey made the background well...I have to say the music is well based too...
And it's very un-conservative like...It never ceases to please me...I mean it's a great anime, with connections to reality and mature themes like sexual abuse and the likes without losing it's theme.I just have a problem with catching up with the story... Plus, the story sounds familliar...Some what like Saber Marionnete and Chobbitsy like..

My favorite series ever, but most definitely not for everyone. It becomes insanely good in the second half, with it's incredibly interesting plot and character development, but unfortunately, with all the blood, gore, dismemberment and fun like that, it is most definitely not the kind of series I would recommend to an anime newbie.

Good effort by the author, but really awkwardly done. He's improving.
Has the bad side effect of receiving gratuitous, hyperbolic praise from people impressed by violence.

Almost every mindfuck anime I've watched has given me the insatiable desire to whip out a sawed-off shotgun and blast the hell out of my television.

Elfin Lied is no different. If I want to see blood and gore I'll read Berserk (which is far better), if I want a good mindfuck I'll read Monster (which is also far better).
