Even the sheep were jumping for joy.
I want a sheep like that.
Those sheep were certainly cuter than Sengoku's goat. It looked strange in this episode.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

It did, didn't it? But I don't know what about it looked so strange exactly.
Is there anyone else who thinks Sengokus voice actor is crap? Throughout the whole arc I could barely hear any emotion come from him. Like a Keanu Reeves of the voice acting world.
Moria's voice is terrible too this time. The voice actor himself isn't bad, but the voice he's making for Moria is just terrible. He sounds like such a wimp, Moria deserves better.

I think Kid's voice is crap, I expected to awesome speech about the start of the new era and I get crap.

I don't know, last time it looked better.
I agree. It's too emotionless. The voice itself fits Sengoku nicely, but the acting is terrible.
no one noticed "Is Magallen alright …... he got beaten badly and is barely alive"
One Piece Episode 490 >>>> 12:10 Min 12:16
Well ........ the last battle with magallen !!!!
it's Mr.2 battle
Or it might have been a ceiling falling on his head when Blackbeard was leaving.
Fucking anime fucking up as usual.

I never thought anyone would bring it up
Sengokus voice actor is terrible
Moments where you expect to hear emotion, you hear nothing, just this booming voice
He's just terrible
Morias always been an issue, they can't draw him and the actor they got for him is decent, but never good
Good episode. They mixed things up a bit but it flowed well.
Since when does Hawkings have a cat-guy on his ship?
Also the laugh of Kid was great…rly crazy, just how i like it.
I am all for Brownbeard filler later.
Sengoku's voice actor is one the worst voice actor in the anime. He always sounds devoid of emotion and like a dying old man. And he can't shout at all.

Now I don't agree with this at all.
I realy love this man and every line he says.
Great episode!
Next week looks great aswell!

….
stfu
He's done a great job as Sengoku.
Good episode over all. I do wonder just how many Lvl 6 prisoners actually escaped....that should make for an interesting storyline in the near future, should Luffy & co actually encounter any of them.
Sengoku's voice is great, but the acting is far too emotionless. I understand that Sengoku isn't the type who shouts every sentence with passion, but there are lines what should have more emotions.
However, I've heard worse voice actors. He's far from it.
Sengoku's voice is pretty good for a 79 years old voice actor.
Well, he won't be around for much longer.
I am ok with Sengoku's voice.
However, I don't like Mihawk's new voice. The VA does a great job but it seems so forgettable and lacks the elegance of the previous VA.
Well, he won't be around for much longer.
Well it's not like
! he dies or anything, he's stil around .
Unless you mean the actor.
Ep was ok..but i dunno how they're gonna do the fillers especially since the crew is apart it wld be an awkward move to just have them go on some random island beating up people. It will be interesting to see but I have a bad feeling about this. Should atleast be two months of filler..
Ohgod X'D
That part with Bepo, 'Penguin' and 'Casquette' made me lol X'D
loved the epi in general 8'D
preview for 491.. damn that's creepier than Kidds rape face and laugh
Normally, I hate filler, but any Heart Pirate/Law filler is fine by me X'D
B, P and C have replaced Buggy as the comic relief X'D
Ugh, I don't really want to see their fail attempt at showing Luffy waking up…I rarely like their additions to Oda's story, and they really fail at showing luffy scream. That scene after Ace died was terrible, I thought Luffy did a silent scream at the heavens in the manga but they had him gurgling and other crap.

Haters Gonna Hate.
I think it's good that [/deep breath] they're popping filler in the next epi, otherwise it wouldn't flow right.
all we'd see is Luffy going crazy and destroying a forest.
I wonder, did the credits of this episode revealed the names of Law's crewmates?
I'm wondering that as well now that you've mentioned it…
Hope they did ; u ;

Haven't seen the episode yet, but yet it fails. Nice logic. The whole point of seeing Luffy scream is to show that he was at the brink of breaking his mind and then he did. It says that Luffy was awake enough to scream then just snapped to a state where all he can do is just sit there and just replay his brother getting impaled and dying over and over. But then again, it's my point of view so whateves.
-They also cut out Ivankov's line about Luffy's torment was enough to break two minds.
Actually, they didn't. FUNi subbed it as "It's not surprising that his mind broke down!", but I clearly heard "Seishin no hitotsu ya futatsu", which translates to "A mind or two."
Why didn't the last part of Luffy crying in this leaked preview not make it into the final??
Haters Gonna Hate.

Yeah, it's good that they're making filler scenes for the next episode. Luffy is acting like a zombie in the preview, lol.

Totally agree here. I cross my fingers every day hoping that he retires and they replace him with someone who can actually emote worth a damn.
I actually like Sengoku's voice. It's Ben Beckman's voice I can't stand. It's too bad the guy who used to play ben beckman died cuz the new voice is terrible. And Kid's voice actor could use some training cuz he was lame in this episode.

Yea I agree that kid sounded a bit weird this episode.
That aside, Decent episode. It's really interesting to see the world cheering the navy's victory. Not unexpected… just interesting considering our point of view.
Anyone else think Beckman looks a lot younger then when we saw him during the Shichibukai summons before Skypiea ?
Episode was quite eventless, but still very intersting to see the rest of the world and the supernovas. I enjoyed the performance of Jimbei's VA this time around. You could really feel the emotions of the character.

Looking good! From what I can see the nailed Luffy's condition right there.
Oh wait, looks like Marguerite and Law are having some minor interaction.
You know what that means…Everyone! Evacuate to the rule 34 bunker asap!

I've read the manga and I've seen the preview and it's enough to tell that the next episode will be full of luffy making weird and awkward faces, random flashbacks and terrible gurgling and screaming sounds. I'm glad Oda skipped that part in the manga, because it wasn't something I would have enjoyed seeing. Having Luffy hit his head on stuff and break things is a lot less disturbing.
Edit: A silent scream at the heavens/god would have been a lot more meaningful than that disturbing racket Luffy made when Ace died but I guess they were trying to fill up their time slot as usual. So I guess you could call it a filler scream?
You have the right to complain, but you complain way to damn much. Shut the hell up and enjoy the show.
I only mentioned it once and you don't have to be so mean. Was just explaining in case he didn't understand.
That wasn't entirely directed at you, sorry for making it seem that way. It just pisses me off how people cry and complain so much about how things didn't turn out the way they wanted it to.

I've enjoyed Kid until this point, but yeah, that laugh was right out of the "bad anime dubs" soundbank. And you can put me on the list that dislikes Sengoku's VA.
Honestly, I think this arc just further established that the best part of the anime is the way the VAs work so well for the main SHs. There are lots of great secondary VAs in the show, but when they're given too much screen-time, they can get a bit tedious, Whitebeard and Blackbeard excepted. Also, doesn't help when half of their dialogue is either "oyaji!" or "GKCK."
Just saw the episode. Gotta say, the Jinbe seen at the end really struck me. Great acting, and perfect music for the scene.
Really liked this episode aside from the lack of brown beard.
Hopefully they will show him later, because what they just did was leave us wondering "who exactly was that guy?"
DON! Epic episode. But i kinda disliked the cheery music for the marine here. WTH, our hero are the pirate! So its just doesnt match with the bgm, eventhough it was no problem with the civilian, i just dislike those blind marine…!
Darn, Drake are so cool! I hope he become a sichibukai. Poor Moria, hunted by Dofla and those PX.
I cant wait for the SH filler episodes!
Wait a minute… I'm gonna risk it and place this here:
!
!
And now I will ask: Just cause he didn't say anything and his face wasn't shown its a big deal >.> ?
Man jinbe's solo was so well done, teared up a little at the end of it ^^;;
Ah, it seems like I haven't given my opinion on this episode yet.
Well, in terms of pretty much everything, this episode was decent, although there were some parts of the episode that Toei messed up in, which I found slightly disheartening; nevertheless, I guess it could've been worse, so, I don't really have that much to complain about.
I'm looking forward to the next episode, though…hopefully, Sato will treat us with some awesome direction.
Don't get all the whining. I ll say a good episode, looking forward to the next
reading some posts here makes me think some people watch the anime just for the sake of finding something to complain about

same.
if they want something to complain about, don't complain about a perfectly good anime.
If anything, peeps should be complaining about Naruto.
THOSE AREN'T REAL NINJA.
OTHERWISE YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SEE THEM.
TTLY NINJA BLASPHEMY.
It is not really that, I think people here cling to perfection or sometimes I just wonder if they want to show/tell how much of a hardcore OP fan they really are by noticing all the little details most of the people don't.
I get the constructive criticism and explaining why you don't like something but just plain complaining…
If you find nothing wrong with the anime, then that's fine.
If others do, then that's fine as well.
The standpoint from which you're taking it is understandable, though, but expressing dissatisfaction over others complaining about the show's episodes is something that can't penetrate the individuals' own decision to like or dislike the episode, since, most of the time, it's grounded upon the watchers' own, personal tastes and dislikes.
Besides, from what I've seen, a majority of the recent reception of this episode has been fairly positive, in contrast to what's been claimed otherwise; whatever the case, I don't think a lot of episodes can defeat the infamy and mixed decisiveness that was raised by episode 482, anyway…but aside from that, it really is quite pestering to feel as though everyone seems to watch episodes like a game critic, but unfortunately, that trait resides within a majority of the OP anime fans here, and is often inevitable.
As for me, however, I have my reasons for liking and disliking certain areas of this episode as well, but, overall, I think what may be the cause of most of the audience's criticism of recent episodes is the fact that many of them are placing their expectations too high, expecting a good pace, good animation quality, and good music selection all the time, only to be disappointed soon afterwards. Or, maybe people are just whiny and tend to complain over every little fault and/or difference to the manga and expect Mona Lisa's out of every episode that Toei gives us just because they do. Then again, I'm most likely just speaking for myself, (although that's not my objective), but that's what seems to be the case to me.
[[b]NOTE: This post also wasn't directed to anyone specifically, btw; just a general output of my opinion on the matter in note of the indication of negativity over the current quality of the show.]
