Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread v.2

Hey all, here's an idea that I've been playing with. The Caribou cover story has made me think a little more about it, and now I'd like to see what you all think:

I've been thinking that the WG (or perhaps the AK before them) divided the One Piece world into quarters (N/S/E/W Blues) for a singular purpose. With the recurring theme of lookalikes and act-alikes (see: Tashigi/Kuina, Gaburu/Caribou), it could be possible that the WG (or the AK before them) created these isolated oceans in order to keep people from noticing that they have doubles/triples/quadruples of themselves living elsewhere in the world.

Is it possible that the WG or the AK was cloning people and then performing social experiments in each of the separate seas? It would give some more emphasis to the fact that the various seas are compared to each other on a strength basis. One could know that East Blue is the weakest, for example, if one knew that it is full of clones that have been restricted from growing to their fullest potential.

Anyway, just a crazy theory of mine. Any thoughts?

edit: There are definitely some logical inconsistencies, like how would the WG/AK be able to control how the clones bred with one another to make clone children born around the same time? But I don't know. It's One Piece.

I think I've figured out why Don Chin Jao and King Riku weren't turned into toys: Sugar loses control over her powers when she's scared, and Viola sacrificed her freedom to Doflamingo, so he let Riku live.

Turning into a doll doesn't kill the person apparently, yet Riku wasn't transmutated, so that means there's another explanation. I think the soundest and most logical reason is that Doflamingo understands that actually hurting Viola's father would make her even more rebellious. While Baby 5 was rebellious, she tried to take vengeance directly and stupidly on Doflamingo, and that was useless. However, Viola is cunning, resourceful, and charming, so she can disrupt the order of Doflamingo's forces subtly, and weaken his power over Dressrosa. I think that's the best possible reason, Riku hasn't been hurt or transformed.

As for Don Chin Jao, he has Conqueror's Haki. 'Nuff said.

Violet actually turned herself in and give her services to Doflamingo with the promise from Doflamingo so that Riku would not be killed. Doflamingo was about to kill Riku.

Theory about inherited will/Will of the D

Many have already speculated that the D likely means something along the lines of Dreams with each D having been shown with Dreams large enough to even conquer their fear of death, and in some cases being happy simply knowing that their will won't die with them and that someone will carry it on fulfilling their purpose.

I believe the people who have left their Will's to be passed on to other people leave behind part of their "power" so to speak and the more the person who inherited their will follows in their footsteps the more of that person's "power" they inherit. For example Luffy who some speculate may have Roger's Devil Fruit (No actual storyline evidence for this), has his hat, and has traveled a similar path as Roger. Luffy wants to be the most free person in the world and is intentionally trying to inherit the position of Pirate King that Gol D. Roger once held and left behind for the next world changer.

I say "power" in the sense that Haki is additional power, maybe inheriting the will of someone adds their ambition that left them when they died to the person following in their footsteps?

I believe people who are D's likely have extremely powerful will's, are able to inherit powerful wills and "gain" more from them than others could, and when they pass away they leave a greater will than non D's.

I think we will one day find out that Luffy is going to get the massive powerups he needs from now until the point he is fighting Yonkou's and Admirals by following in Roger/s footsteps growing in his own strength and gaining additional strength from Roger's will. Roger says that he left all he owns in that one place, Raftel likely holds the entirety of his Will and Luffy will understand exactly what he needs to do and in that revelation will increase his strength to a level beyond Rogers.

Nice theory, but I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as passing on power in this way in One Piece.. Luffy is always going to increase his strength by his own will and ambition, not by magical inheritance-power ups.

I think Riku will retain his memories the same way Rebecca's father retained his. What he feels currently doesn't matter to Doflamingo, because the way I see it, Doflamingo is a sociopath, and people like him don't really give a damn what other people feel.

While it's completely Luffy's strength, agility, willpower, and luck that allows him to plow through his adventure, having that D in his name will inevitably make people superstitious. However, characters like Whitebeard and Roger had learned of its true significance, so that D isn't anything to scoff at. Nonetheless, the D doesn't give strength, it's just that people with a D in their name are incredibly strong.

The D doesn't actually stand for anything as such, it's just an identifier of that special bloodline.

That's my take on it anyway.

Maybe D(special traits) is like a surname kind of thing from long ago Kingdom or something until its overthrown by the World Nobles … Thats what I'm guessing.

We have seen multiple times that DD's word isnt to be trusted. He isn't a trustworthy person. The deal he made with the King of Dress rosa, the deal he made with bellamy and Law.

It was also convenient that that DF was available in the tournament as soon as the straw hats came in to play. On the other hand Blackbeard does know how to obtain a DF from a deceased pirate immediately, Blackbeard also seems to believe that DD also knows how to do that trick(obtaining a DF from a deceased)…

As of now i do think it is a fake DF.

doflamingo really didn't touch king riku after the promise he made with viola,even though by turning him into a toy,viola would have forgotten about him and there would have been no repercussions whatsoever.
Sure,doflamingo doesn't always tell the truth,but it's not like it's a rule.
also,if the fruit was fake,keep it hidden in a small treasure chest guarded by trebol and then showed it up to his own men wouldn't make sense..he doesn't need to deceive his own men.
it's pretty much the same situation when people were convinced that doflamingo was still a shichibukai because he had an agreement with the marines..even though we have seen the reunion about the issue at the marine HQ and already knew that everyone in that reunion was convicned that doflamingo was not a shichibukai anymore,and even if one of them (akainu) knew it wasn't true,didn't have any motive to lie to his own subordinates

it's kinda difficult to predict what she would have remembered and what not …as an example,chinjao remembers that he is the captain of the happou navy,even though it is not true anymore,because he doesn't remember his grandsons to whom he has passed the title to..so some of the memories are definitely modified to go accordingly with the lack of a certain person...maybe she would have just rememebred she has to obey to doflamingo but not knowing why ,but since people who forgot don't even realize something is missing (like rebecca never asking where his father is,even though if asked she would probably said that,yeah,she should have a father but didn't think about that till now and don't really remember where he could be or what happened to him),maybe she would have followed doflamingo anyway

After all, he revealed Keimi in Hatchan's Ocean Floor Stroll then she played an important role in both SA -the first visit (she's the one to help them find their way & was the damesle in distress that lead to the set up where Hatchi got shot and Luffy punched as CD) and at FI (helped the guys around the island, introduced them to Shylary and helped Nami slip out of castle)
So I think its really is possible for Vegapunk to be fully revealed in a cover story

I can't remember the chapter but it was just after Whitebeard's death, Brownbeard's crew claimed Foodvaten- a former territory of Whitebeard's. Then his 2nd appearance was when Hawkins appeared on same island.

There's nothing hinting about Vegapunk treating those.

Law already did most of the work for the kids. And considering how Kin'emon was fine after being Shinokuni'd, it wouldn't require a genius like Vegapunk to treat the Shinokuni victims.

I remember Tashigi telling she was sending the kids(who were drugged not shinokunied) to Vegapunk and he would take care of them.

Keep in mind that the kids and Brownbeard + crew are separated.

Also, "consult" doesn't mean that Vegapunk will be treating them. And even if he did, I doubt Oda would show that through a cover story.

Chinjao foreshadows it but, the upcoming battle between Luffy and Doflamingo will be a serious battle of CoC, and Haki in general. Luffy hasn't really cranked it up yet I think and has a penchant for growing stronger as the arc progresses, Donquixote will be a good test for the battles ahead. Big Mom is already attacking, and Kaido is just around the corner. If Luffy wants to face these big shots he better stomp DD now.

Oda is definitely not disappointing so far.

I read the Dressrosa chapters again and concentrated on this topic trying to pick up hints. Rebecca's Father [Toy Soldier] is originally a Dwarf, not a human. First thing first, let's get some presumptions and misconceptions out of the way.

Toy Soldier Is Riku's Son… NOT!
The first presumption all fans make is that Toy Soldier is the son of King Riku. This is currently unconfirmed, neither has Toy Soldier himself mentioned it, neither has it been mentioned in the past that he was Riku's son. At the same time, I believe Rebecca's mother Scarlett is Riku's daughter (royalty), look at his second daughters name – Viola (Violet). Both of them have a name that is also a color, isn't it more than a co-incidence? I believe, King Riku has two daughters, thus making Toy Soldier not his son.

Rebecca's Father Was Turned A Toy The Day Doflamingo Took Over Dressrosa
We all know that no one was a toy before Doflamingo appeared, and Rebecca's father was turned into a toy the day Doflamingo successfully carried out the coup. In the following panel from One Piece Chapter 721, we see Rebecca's father, with both his legs present – he also has a coat covering him. We already know of his appearance, why hide it?

Also note the wordings, "Who's this shrimp!!" – they do not say "who is this toy" or anything alike. There can only be one reason to hide his appearance back then, the readers aren't supposed to know whats under the cloak. After his little fight against Doflamingo's crew, he lost a leg as well as was turned into a toy, after which Rebecca completely forgot about his existence as her father. The Toy Soldier also knew who turns people into toys, he stated that the current "location/position" of Sugar was informed to him by the scouts, but he originally revealed that Sugar is the person turning people into toy's, he also referred to the user as a "she" before actually taking her name.

Leo Mentions Toy Soldier As "Captain"
We know that the Tontatta Kingdom has it's own army and hierarchy – and Leo called Toy Soldier as "Captain"

While he could possibly be given the "Captain" title as a honorary title for being a part of the rebellion, I think he was originally a officer of the Tontatta Army and that is his rank within it.

King Riku Didn't Accept Scarlett's Relationship With A Dwarf
If we consider Scarlett as a daughter to Riku, maybe Riku didn't accept that she had a relationship with a Dwarf (and marriage). He didn't see her as her "own" daughter anymore. However nice King Riku was, I could see him getting upset over something like this. He loves Rebecca, yes, because she is her granddaughter and also a human, but I think in general he didn't accept Scarlett and Toy Soldier as family once they decided to marry. Toy Soldier also ignored Usopp's direction question to him, and didn't reveal if he was actually Riku's son or not.

Toy Soldier also said "Viola at that time was the princess" while speaking about the past, let's do some basic math. Scarlett was definitely elder to Viola, she had a child, meaning that Scarlett had to be the "princess". But if we presume that King Riku didn't accept her anymore after she had a relationship with a Dwarf, Viola being the princess makes sense.

Rebecca's Speed Trait
Speed is seen to be a trait of the Dwarves, Toy Soldier trained Rebecca. Rebecca is known for her "speed", the imprisoned gladiators were surprised that Rebecca lost in a game of speed against Luffy. Luffy has gained that speed via training, and his Color of Observation Haki gives him a upper hand, but what if speed was in Rebecca's genes? Due to her father being a dwarf, she inherited speed naturally and can grow a lot more in speed.

This is all speculation after all, it can be right, it can be wrong, but for now this is what I think :p

"And you with your mother's distinguished blood running through your veins…"

In the following panel from One Piece Chapter 721, we see Rebecca's father, with both his legs present

Problem: we see no such thing. People thought they saw his second leg, but they were mistaken. Also, the leg we saw has exactly the shape/proportions of his leg after becoming a toy. Also, Toy Soldier is like 10 times the size of a dwarf. The cloaked figure could not have been a dwarf, because they're like 2 inches tall.

Also note the wordings, "Who's this shrimp!!" – they do not say "who is this toy" or anything alike.

Uh, yeah, he was wearing a cloak to conceal his identity.

Toy Soldier also said "Viola at that time was the princess" while speaking about the past, let's do some basic math. Scarlett was definitely elder to Viola, she had a child, meaning that Scarlett had to be the "princess". But if we presume that King Riku didn't accept her anymore after she had a relationship with a Dwarf, Viola being the princess makes sense.

They're both daughters of the king, so they're both princesses. Whoever came up with this theory doesn't understand how royal titles work.

I'm sorry but I didn't read it all (Hope that doesn't sound rude) because in my opinion the toy soldier is Kyros, who was turned into a toy before Doflamingo started his plan due to the immense power that he posses and Doflamingo might have seen him as the only one on Dressrosa who could ractually stand his ground against him, they called him a shrimp because they can not see whose under the cloak and the speed on the toy soldier is actually a move called "Jet Walk" also the little people call him captain because they know who he really is and the capabilities that he posses.

I think what he meant was in the image posted the sol. says "Viola at that time was the princess" while scarlett was older she should be referred to as the princess as well right? but they mention one princess only.

Kyros being Rebeccas father is what I am also siding towards from a long time :D but I found this one a interesting theory so I posted here too :)
