We seem to have a pretty good bit of an international community here, and I'll assume that included in those of you who come from corners of the world, some of you picked up English sometime later in life. For those of you, I'd like to hear a few suggestions…
I'm currently teaching a basic-level English class to native Spanish speakers, and the one thing that's difficult for me is that, because I'm a native speaker, it's hard for me to think in terms of easy tricks or rules to follow to make learning the language easier (in that regard, it'd be easier to teach a language I had to learn later on, I think).
So, for those of you who have perhaps been through a similar class, are there any little tricks you learned that you can pass on to me, so that I can pass said same tricks on to my students and, hopefully, make things a little easier for them?
Any help is appreciated.
