I liked the trailer. The idea of a movie sounds interesting.
if done right it could be pretty awesome.
I don’t think a zombie movie has focused on this type of situation in the way this trailer has., yes 28 days later did something similar, but imo there was no real emotional connect with the characters for me.

As for this one, it’s a little girl and as we know most little girls are good and kind hearted. So, taking all of that in to account, the viewer can some how through the midst of blood and gore and rotting flesh feel that need and that wanting to help her even though there’s nothing you can do. and when you get that emotion you get a good f*cking viral trailer for a Zombie Video Game that could potentially some how turn into a possibly great movie adaptation.

I've never seen a title go from vaporware no one's heard of one day, to on the lips of the entire gaming community by the next. That trailer absolutely blew up. Many are riled by it, due to the fact a game is getting so much press from a CG trailer which probably has little to do with the actual game.

But I suspect that this is going to become a standard, or rather other developers are gonna try to follow suite on getting support for titles they're trying to develop. Sad thing is, the only reason this is emotional is cause it's dealing with a death of a child, something that always pulls on the heartstrings and is almost never seen in media, especially video games.

I agree with some of the people who call it shameless, but I'm not holding it against them. If killing a CGI created kid will allow a small developer get on their feet, more power to them.

Even without the child, the trailer still did wonderful with just the way the events played out and the combination with the music. It would be an A+ trailer either way, but you're right in that the child pulling on a lot of heartstrings is what pushed it to such massive fame in a short amount of time.

I was hoping he would survive and wreak havoc on the island seeking revenge for what was done to his family, but sadly the trailer clearly shows him getting the cooties.

At that point the child's death was lessened by the fact that she was already a zombeh imo.

From the looks of the game, it seems like a combined concept of Left4Dead and Dead Rising.

Not that I mind, I love both those games to death. They're going to have to do a lot to disappoint me, which I have high expectations that they are going to.

The trailer honestly didn't do it for me. Sure it was sad… but I feel the music had more of a hand in that than the little girl. Such a strong buzz so quick for a game without any gameplay to show yet. The game has my interest (the concept behind it. Getting stronger, building stats...etc..), but I wannna see gameplay for this one before getting on board.

Zombies. This ain't gonna be a gamechanger... just another zombie game. Let's hope its good.

If I remember right, one of the silhouettes for the main characters actually does look like the dad, and apparently, the main characters are immune from the zombie infection for some reason.

I have to agree on a certain level, but I have some good hopes for this game. it has some very big potential to be some thing that's actually above sub par zombie games.

I've been playing this the last couple of days. It's really hard to place this game, I'm not quite sure if it's great or terrible. I really don't like the combat, and the talent trees are pretty ineffective I've found. It seems like a game in the same category as Borderlands, really bad if you play by yourself, but awesome if you're playing with others.

Too bad I've always been a loner. ;(

Played some at a buddies house last night. Despite obvious gripes (combat ranges from satisfying to completely aggravating. The large, heavy zombies are just a straight up pain in the arse. Difficulty when not partied can just SKYROCKET. Lack of manual saving. Boring talent trees. Some bad game design here and there. And all around repetition), the game is quite immersive and fun! The world is very detailed and exploring the island is very engrossing.

I honestly appreciate the gore the most. They really didn't pull any punches and i'm very glad for it! We played as Sam B, went into his rage mode and crushed a few skulls on impact and sent a zombie flying over a fence was hilarious. How brutal the hand to hand combat is just really makes this a good package.

I feel that hours in, slicing, crushing, and dicing zombies wont get old.

That's one thing the game has going for it, killing zombies never becomes old. And as you say, the difficulty when alon is just brutal.

Once you get used to the melee mechanics, the fighting gets very satisfying. As of now, favorite first person melee combat since I feel they did a good job making you use and time your hits carefully. I also applaud how they designed their zombies and a good uses of leveled enemies to keep the game challenging. The enemies I find the most annoying are the Infected (Runners) since they lead to my death so many times. Thugs (Huge Dudes) are so easy for me since I can break their arms with no problem . . . until a Infected rapes me from behind and I get smacked by the Thug D8

My brother bought it for 360 but I'll probably wait till a Steam sale to pick it up. I'm not in any hurry to play it.

As far as I remember there was a mandatory install. However, I've experienced this on loads of PS3 games, mostly the big, open world kind of games.

Adds one shot head kills and a bunch of other cool stuff.

A headshot from a pistol or rifle can take out a zombie

A shot to the body has a small chance to knock them down

Bullets have some penetration and can hit more than one zombie

Shotguns are at least as dangerous as ever, and will knock-down and dismember satisfyingly

Fun things to do

Decapitate multiple zombies with one swing

Headshot two zombies with one bullet

Aim up while jump-kicking to send zombies arcing over a high railing

Aim your jump-kicks so the ragdolls land on their heads or arms and they splatter

Time your jump-kicks and thrown weapon extractions to combine them into one smooth motion

Send some zombies flying to a watery death in the ocean with a sweeping sledgehammer blow to the legs

Slice a Walker’s leg to put them on a knee and then slice upward for a one-two decapitation

Sever the leg of an oncoming Infected at full speed

Shockburn yourself on an enemy you critted
