Hmm I was wondering if all of you guys who are waiting to buy the Re-release (HK version) of WCF Vol 1 - 11 have realized that this figures will be made using the new material instead of the old one? I mean it makes complete sence, since these WCF have to be remade with the same molds of course but I doubt that they will use old material since they have been implemeting this new one on latest WCF from 10 ,11 , 12 etc.
Do you guys think that this might then cause more collectors to go back and try get JP versions or first released instead of HK re issues? what are your thoughts?

I like how they did two cards exactly the same (except one didn't have Rayleigh) and made them both Super Rare. Yet didn't even put Chopper in on his own at all.

As you mentioned, they will be using the same molds. However, the new material they use might not be "compatible" with the order molds. I work with molds quite a bit in manufacturing and know that a mold isn't universal to all process and material for the same shape. I have a hard time seeing HK negotiating "inferior" WCFs to kick off their representation in HK game centers. They will most likely be the same….and if they're not the same (AKA using the new materials), I'm sure die hard collectors would want to buy them even more since it's like a NEO version almost. In terms of demand, collectors will always flock to the Japanese version head first in this hobby and it'll always be worth more....how much more remains to be seen of course when it actually comes out.

On a really odd note, I found an ace figure that had gone missing a while ago. It was in the box I store my handbags in, which is honestly one of the last places I'd ever expect him to be. Poor guy probably fell in there somehow. Now he smells vaguely of Italian leather. I think I just ordered a new one of him, too. Ain't that the way it goes? As soon as you finally cave in and order a replacement, lo and behold, whatever you were missing comes out of the woodwork.

I have no idea how he got in that box… bewildering.

Well thats true in a sense but people also want to get the quality that they are paying for. I can't speak for WCF since I don't collect it, but if there was a drop in quality for the POPs as drastic as what has been mentioned for the WCF then I'm sure people would think twice before spending the kind of money, especially since its on a single figure rather than in sets like the WCF. I'd probably become like cyber and start collecting more Robin figures than other figures, I dunno, but I hope that doesn't happen to me anyway.

I'm not sure if by worth you mean resale value, cos if thats what you meant then the above paragraph isn't relevant at all lol… but yeah just what I feel anyway.

EDIT: How much is wcf vol 0 selling on YAJ now btw? Anyone can provide me a link, would really appreciate it, thanks!

I do also agree though that if the quality remains low I'll be thankful for the HQ sets we got and call it quits, or at least seriously rethink how many I will acquire from now on…

No way, not in a million years. She does look gentle and all, and the sculpt is actually pretty good. But still no.

When's the next release of POPs gonna be? There better be admirals or at least moriah/doflamingo by then. Wouldn't mind time skip but there's a whole lot of characters that need releases before them. And a Neo reissue would be nice.

I love the wedding Hancock even if she is filler. Going to be hard to get hold of one. I even don't mind the swimsuit versions, though I'd have preferred other characters.

That Hancock is limited. It has no effect on the main releases. Much like the swimsuits. She isn't instead of anything. She's pretty much the equivelant of that slightly different coloured Ace a few pages back

If you wanna complain about filler taking the place of admirals may I direct you to that Suit Shanks and Suit Ace?

I'd rather have the Megahouse ones than them. They just look poo. And at least with Megahouse you don't have to use the base for most of them. (only Hancock and Brook I've seen absolutely NEED them)

Maybe Banpresto needs to take a leaf out of their own book for the bases. I still need to cut off the pegs off Will of D Garp, Shichibuki Hancock and Heroine Nami and Robin since they're so stupidly huge.

Really? I've always thought the MegaHouse bases looked like garbage for something of such quality. Should be a lot smaller for one, a different shape, represent the character quite a lot more instead of just some stock appearance plastic(possibly a small attempt at landscape?), etc.

I'd prefer something similar in shape/size as those HSCF for DX figures though.

Kaku and lucci look great, and the small bases are a plus indeed. Further down in that blog it shows some pics of banpresto's akainu and i gotta say im not liking the sculpt of his face, he looks a bit off and his facial features make him seem like hed be kind or something , he dosnt look as grizzled or stone faced as hes usually shown to be. I think bandai's figurarts zero did him a little more justice (no pun intended) this time around.

He reminded me of Meatloaf for some reason XD

Personally I like the Figuarts bases the best. Dunno why. They just look really nice. Then Megahouse. Then Banpresto's huge discs the least.

Although I make it a rule to toss any bases aside if they don't need them for standing.

Hahaha true that, yeah… Guess that saves me some money then! Unless of course I somehow manage to get her and she somehow appeals to me so much that I fall in love with the figure and pledge to never get rid of her, then yea maybe. What are the odds though?
