Dang… he's certainly going to be missed =(
Sad to hear, I enjoyed his books a lot as a kid, especially the "Flying Dutchman" ones. As a fun fact, the type of font used in the Redwall books influenced my own handwriting.
R.I.P.
RIP.
I read a ton of his books throughout my early-mid teens. I might have to take one off my old bookshelf the next time I go home.

i still held out hope for a Mariel/Dandin swashbuckling adventure series spinoff
Never heard of the guy but R.I.P.
…damn.
I knew he was old and all, but still. Sad day.
My dad read a few of the Redwall books to my sister and I when we were little. Looking back on it, it's really jarring to know that they were talking animal stories where said animals often killed each other in bloody fashion. Still, it's a shame. We had fun reading those books.
One thing that I've always appreciated about the Redwall books is that Jacques seemed to have a great deal of affection for his fanbase and worked references to them into his work that reflected that. That's really where a lot of the stuff about the Dibbuns in the later books came from.
Fuck, I remember reading two of his books. I liked them.
Rest in peace.
I never got into the Redwall books, for no particular reason. That, Ender's Game and Watership Down were all elementary school book/series I should have read, but didn't.
I'm impressed he was still writing, though.

Hell, I just got his latest book for Christmas (Doomwhyte). And I was looking forward to the next one.
I'm not sure if it's true, but I had heard that apparently he wrote all of his books by hand. Never used a computer.
I thought the Sable Quean was the last one released with The Rogue Crew coming out in a few months.
I was never big on the Redwall series as a kid. My brother tried to get me into them, but after reading Mossflower, my Harry Potter obsession kicked in. Though, I recently checked out some of his more recent books, as well as the older ones. Out of the ones I've read, my favorites are Redwall, and Mariel of Redwall. The newer books definitely more tame compared to the earlier one. But, I see them as guilty pleasures.
Still, it's sad to see Jacques go. You'll be missed.
I own Redwall….I tried reading it but it was boring to me...Learning that the author is dead...I feel really guilty now.
I loved the Martin of Redwall animated series (season 4 of redwall apparently). I'd get up at 7 just to watch it on PBS and along with the cartoon, they'd always have sections where the showed cooks making the food or animators drawing the scene, voice actors, historians talking about pirates while dressed up, and even guys showing off weapons. And the cartoon was good as well, i ended up crying at the end
I was sad to hear all the extra stuff was cut out of the DVDs. That show was a real gem
I remember watching that just to see the Brian Jacques segments at the end.
