Which Jolly Roger is the most authentic:

Slim brim:

Wide brim:

I've noticed alot of merchandise is based off the wide brim style, but the slim brim seems to pop up in the anime more. The slim version might be more "true" to the straw hat's jolly roger though.

What do you think?

I'm considering using one or the other for a little project, and I'd like to use the most authentic version.

The Slim Brim is used for the logo, The Wide Brim is for the actual flag.
But yeah that is pretty damn confusing.
