the only time Marvel really focused on Doom was after Heroes Return back in the pocket Universe and that was only for 1 or 2 books.

New issue of The New Avengers came out today, along with the Civil War collect trade paperback. I'm really digging the new Avengers though, even if it's taking forever to get the meat of the story movie. The flashbacks are interesting though, I'll give them that.

One thing I found cool was how Stark got his Damage Report info on Iron Fist. But it was only with the past few NA issues that I noticed what people meant about Bendis being slow. It felt like Elektra has just been hovering in mid air for 3 months.
Like last month, I felt TB stole their thunder.

Well Marvel recently did a mini called "The Book of Doom" I am not sure if it is out in trade paper back but it is basically a retelling of Dooms origin and his rise to power in Latveria. As for a classic Doom story I would pick up the original Secret War's that is Doom at his finest hour going Toe to Toe with a god and winning. Long Live DOOM. Also check out the road to civil war Fantastic Four issue where Doom fights his way out of hell. Best Doom moment ever!!!!! "COME THERE IS DOOM ENOUGH FOR ALL" Bad ass.

Where's that from? Coverbrowser.com also helps me sometimes. Especially with older series, it helps to narrow down the issues you want.

I have that issue. Best line was when Deadpool first came face to face with the hordes of super losers. "I must have done something really good in a past life, 'cause this is early Christmas"
I also love the scene were Deadpool faces the Wheezer, commenting that he was a legend made-up to make little children laugh themselves to sleep.

…and like I said it's probably a simulation. It's in a press release for the WWH Prologue, and the summary of that says something about "Hulk relives some of his old battles with the Inhumans, Iron Man, and the Fantastic Four."
And yeah, as much as I hate it, there's no way they'd kill Richards. They didn't even have the guts to have to FF break up because of the Civil War.

I actually kinda hop they only graze the origin. For some reason it feels like that actually gets explored too often. Maybe I'm just tired of "first movie" obligations. But with Rhodes there they'll either do that or give him a messy origin, and with Downey in there, I know they're gonna play the alcoholic side as well.

Really? I haven't read SHe-Hulk in a while, but it was pretty enjoyable. Though the sleeping with Stark thing does sound pretty lame.

There's another issue I looked through where she and Wolverine team up to fight Wendigo. After the thing's been taken down, she's all over the guy! She pretty much came out and said "Hey, let's go screw for no reason"
And then Wolverine goes, "I have better things to do than mess with Juggernaut's leftovers." BAM She-Hulk.
On another note, there's probably like a 1% chance anyone else will know what I'm talking about, but last night I finished Jimmy Corrigan: Smartest Kid on Earth.

I bought the entire first series of Usagi Yojimbo along with some of his early appearances in Critters and Albedo in a back issue bin (all for like 25 cents each).
But I'm not up to date with the current series. I liked the ones I've read though. I like Stan Sakai's artwork quite a bit.

Jimmy Corrigan is an amazing yet depressing story. I'm still trying to get into Chris Ware's other to no avail. (I wasn't too fond of Quimby the Mouse)
Yeah, after getting through a few pages I was like "goddamn, this is depressing. I'll be pretty sad when this is done." And I was, but it felt pretty satisfying.
My main problem with is was that Ware was a little all over the place with his panels. They'd flow one way in one page and another on the next, so it'd take some adjusting to know what was going on.
The parts about Jimmy's grandpa also seemed to drag, but it was still good.
The thing reads amazingly fast. I was like… maybe around halfway-two thirds through when I picked it back up last night. Then I finished.
Interestingly enough, I read it for my Lit class.

I'm a huge fan of the series myself, but I usually wait for the graphic novels to get released as it's easier for me to get them then track down the comics. However I did get number 101 yesterday which had an interesting plotline. I'm interested in seeing if this will be developed further.

Actually, I only found out about Usagi Yojimbo when I was a kid because of the Ninja Turtles toys.
It was a pretty smart move by Stan Sakai to let his character crossover like that, because tons of people found out about him through the turtles.
But other than some crossover stuff, it's not related at all.

Yeah, other than both animated series and some anthology stories, the Ninja Turtles and Usagi really haven't crossed over that much. As an aside, Stan Sakai really did a great job using the Turtles in the Shades of Green storyline.
BTW, Anyone interested in getting into Usagi Yojimbo should start with The Brink of Life and Death. Usagi was moving from Mirage to Dark Horse, and this volume collects the early Dark Horse stories and is very accessible (though pretty much every Usagi trade is accessible.)

Same for me. In fact, when I first heard of the new TMNT series, I went to see if Usagi was part of the line up. It was only by reading a bit more about the character after seeing he wasn't that I learnt of his own comic series.

They could always use the origin for Ultimate Iron Man or a variant, say he was born with a heart condition and later in life needs the suit to help keep it pumping.

I once read that Tony's alcoholism may actually be included in a sequel instead of the first film, but that was a while back.

I reread a lot of my old Spiderman comics. I have to say that the stories with Osbourne as the Goblin are the best. Green Goblin is definitely the best Spiderman villain. When I was young it was always Doc Ock and Venom. But specifically the Night Gwen Stacy died, the 3 parter Drug issues, and Norman's origin with him finding out Spidey's identity are some of the best issues that Marvel ever produced.

I loved Hulk as a kid, and I'm excited for WWH, but really, only to see what everyone else does during the storyline.

The thing about Spidey is good issues are great issues, but are actually few and far between. Late 60s and early 70s were mostly just shitty gimmick villains, Michelinie's 80s issues had that Mcfarlane on them, and the 90s were just three or four bad ideas strecthed over a few years. And that's just the Amazing line. I'd really only stick up for Lee, Conway and…..uh....Stracynski.
Norman Goblin issues were usually always a win, though.

An old Spidey villain I never really liked was Mr. Big of the Enforcers. I never was a fan of them.
Did anyone read Spiderman Reign? It is kinda like Dark Knight Returns but with Spiderman. In it Spiderman is very old in a New York city that is similar to Nazi Germany but with superheroes and masks not being allowed. J. Johna Jameson is alive and preaches to young children about the mayor and how the bells would protect them. He then asks Peter to come back which eventually he does so.
I personally liked Sandman in the story. He rocking the girl while she died was very sad. That is why Spidey 3 will work: an tragic Sandman. -
Sandman had some amount of tragedy in the first place, but I personally like him as just a super goon. I love when, in his first appearance, he tried to force a random principal at Pete's school into giving him a diploma.
Reign sounds somewhat interesting, but I didn't take that leap.
