I clicked. I liked it. And I will like the episode itself even more.

It's out.
! …And I was right! Well... Terek and I were both right. Kyubee has done everything he's done to Madoka because he wants the energy her turning into a witch and dropping a grief seed will provide.
! Man.
! There's no way this can end well, is it?
It's 3 am, I've just watched the episode and now can peacefully go to sleep. Sure thing.
! Kyoko considered the concept of 'friendship'.
! Then Kyoko died.
I don't really think there's much to discuss anymore. At least not for me. No more speculation to do, just (what I assume will be) two more episodes: time to sit back, watch and see.
My only contribution is ;_;
;_;
Welp, just finished watching the episode.
Since Magical Girls turn into Witches, QB said that Madoka would be the most powerful Magical Girl, and that this episode stated Walpurgisnacht as Witch Queen, then I think it's safe to say that the final plot twist is that Madoka is Walpurgis all along.
snip
then I think it's safe to say that the final plot twist is that Madoka is Walpurgis all along.
Look at my spoilered post above. Dream from episode 1. homura fighting the insanely strong witch who has many similarities to sayaka's outfit while madoka watches.
i think its safe to say that walpurgis is not madoka, since it is pretty obvious who it is.
besides theres no way theres enough time left for Madoka to decide to contract, fall from grace, turn into a witch, and have the final battle.
i think its safe to say that walpurgis is not madoka, since it is pretty obvious who it is.
It is?
We really don't know what the Witch Queen is supposed to be.
! What you seem to be implying is Sayaka becomes that witch, but considering how Homura could probably solo Sayaka, it seems unlikely to me. If Homura could stop the Night of the Walpurgis from happening, she would have.
! From what was revealed in this chapter, we know Homura's memories aren't exact to the scenario. She didn't anticipate that Kyubei would decieve Kyoko toward a path of self-destruction. Her changes, then, have basically been for naught.
! I'm most concerned with what happened to Kyoko. She exploded her own slightly impure Soul Gem, what are the effects of that?
I'm sort of relieved I anticipated Kyubei's true nature - that of a hardcore utilitarian - but it sort of bugs me because that kind of net benefits analysis is being portrayed negatively here. Do I really have a soul as black as coal?
Did I miss something
I thought
! Kyoko killed Sayaka's witch with that explosion

I don't think that's the case. Honestly, Kyubei's net benefits arguments have been - objectively - fairly persuasive from my point of view. They make a lot of sense, and I honestly don't think his arguments are portrayed in an "ends justifies the means" fashion like they are in most other forms of media. They could have a lot less going for them.
The things he's said that stick with me are pretty reasonable.
"Normally an entire lifetime wouldn't be enough for one miracle, right?"
"When you regret a wrong decision based on a misunderstanding, humans tend to hate the other party for some reason."
"But we're making the contract only if you agree to it. Isn't that kind enough for you?"
And Kyubei has answered every question they've asked of it pretty openly, actually. It's the girls who - never dreaming of the true costs of the contract - dig their own graves by not being curious enough about this deal that, by virtue of the dangers of fighting these witches, already seemed costly enough. Quite the contrary: Kyubei's reasoning is very sensible for an amoral creature.
Episode 10 just…..holy shit. My brain is full of fuck. Need subs.
Here's the raw if you guys want: http://www.anidragon.net/node/1280

Oh god, I just clicked it and got major spoiled.
I feel really, REALLY sad for Homura.
WHERE MA SUBS AT?
Don't read the below unless you have watched ep 10.
! Wow, so groundhogs day and hammerspace? Homura is broken as hell. I feel bad since no matter what she does she can't change Madoka's fate it seems.
Subs out.
! H-
-
!
! Homura-chan. ;__;
! Jesus fuck.
How can anyone in the universe not be watching this amazing show.
Every new episode
Is the best new episode
This is the best show
Oh my god…
Also I kept tearing up mini cries forever
Wow
I knew I liked Homura for a reason.
! But damn, that third world
! Homura kills Sayaka, Mami kills Kyoko, Madoka kills Mami
! Magical Fun Magical Girl Time
At the beginning of the show I thought it would be a natural ending for Madoka to become a Puella Magi. Now I can only root for her not to.
! Did you guys notice that each time Homura reset time, the Walpurgis Night got bigger and bigger? Meaning that something that Homura is doing is affecting the WPN

Oh God I knew something was off there… but didnt saw it (lol)
Oh shi, I dont wanna know what will happen next episode. The only wish for Madoka is to kill the Witch system... or something like that.
just want to say this is the best anime in a long time
last episode was really freaking good.
Hah, so that's how Homura got her guns and grenades.
Well, I wouldn't say much of the backstory came across to me as big bombshells like some of the past elements did, but the sequence of
! the five killing each other was rather startling.
No Madoka this week.
Ok just started this thing. I literally had to force myself to watch this, especially after seeing the the opening. What the hell is this and why am I watching this corny stuff?
It took me two episodes to realize that the opening was probably the most ingenious cynical parody they could come up with. Around the middle of episode 2, I had the feeling that something was really not right, episode 3 sealed the deal. HOLY SHIT! From that point on I marathoned this thing.
Cubey is by far the most cruel thing I've ever seen. And looking at walpurgisnacht, I have a hunch that it might be connected to Homura's time traveling adventures.
Also:
!
! This is fanart but you know what? I now consider this canon. Cause it perfectly sums up that obscure felling of horror I feel everytime I look at this little guy.
Tired of waiting for the eleventh episode?
Then go and fight some entropy and save the universe!
Watched all ten episodes of this series in one go:
[hide]Just what is that thing at the end of the closing credits? A witch? If so, who's witch? Walpurgis? Madoka's (after it's complete)? Homura's? Hurry and come episode 11!
Also, I think at this point that we're due for one more twist, and it's going to be a sad one. Possibly related to time traveling and time loops.[/hide]
EDIT:Fuck it, I'll come out and say it:
[hide]I think Walpurgis Night is Homura. Notice how it keeps appearing at the same place in the same time over and over, similar to what happens to Homura everytime she 'resets' her time. The question is….why did she become a witch? Maybe the lyrics of the ending song can be a clue? It will definitely be Madoka related. Hell, maybe the only way she could save Madoka from being a magical girl and/or dying is to become a witch in her place....or something.[/hide]

The thing that Madoka appears in at the end of all the credits has been likened to the cover of Mephisto, a movie about Faust, which the series is FULL of quotes from and allusions to. Each episode, the mask zooms out progressively futher and further and you see more of it.

Ah, I see. Makes me wonder if there's anything left to hide of its face then, now that we've gotten two more pan outs left. Things will definitely be captivating by the end of this series.
I
have no words
That ending
I will have words but
I won't say anything yet, since it JUST aired.
Really? I thought it wasn't supposed to air until the 29th or sometime around that.
Also, I heard that there was this 'Nico Broadcast' or whatever that shows what Madoka looked like as a witch.
[hide]Crosses fingers on 'Walpurgis being Homura/Homura becoming a witch' prediction[/hide]
Holy! I thought today was the 20th!
Here's hope for a fansub tonight.
We are now officialy under spoiler alert class 21.
Please do tell when you find the subs .
I'll be avoiding almost all forum sites…or well any anime site altogether par this one due to Spoiler Alert Class: 21 (make it happen) until subs arrive.
Refuse to be spoilt to what happens at the end of this.
@Crimson:
:cwy: x16 characters.
. Indeed
Last episode I saw was when-
! Kyouko died.
Which episode was that? I want to catch up.
@Malintex: That was episode 9, iirc.
And I just watched the final 2 episodes.
Daaaaaamn.
I downloaded both of them, and it's very tantalizing, but it's too late right now. I'll just have to wait for tomorrow.
! I guess that Warpuglis itself was witch Homura, the clocks, the purple, the afterimages, she just popped up just when there wasn't any more hope for her.
! I can't belive that it ended in a happy ending. Now the Soul Gems just poop the curses and corruption out? I didn't get what were the demons.
Number 1: Cowboy Bebop.
Number 2: Madoka.
Highest praise.
So is this anime good? If it is then I would like to know why (without delving into spoilers).
@Kareem:

All I can be arsed to say is if you dropped absolutely positively everything you were doing
and marathoned the 12 Madoka episodes
you would have made a good decision.
and this is me avoiding hyperbole.
! Ah dangit, I was wrong. Both before and while I was watching. The whole time, even after the credits, I was expecting everything to go to hell…but it didn't.
And you know what? It left a smile on my face.
Good show Shaft, good show.
Urobuchi has…
! …written the ending he always wanted. A blurb from the first volume of Fate/Zero:
"Urobuchi Gen wants to write stories that can warm people's hearts.
! Those who knew about my creative history would probably furrow their brows and think this is a cold joke. Actually, I couldn't completely believe it, either. Because when I start typing out words on the keyboard, the stories my brain comes up with are always full of madness and despair.
! In fact, I wasn't like this before. I've often written pieces that didn't have a perfect ending, but by the last chapter the protagonist would still possess a belief that 'Although there will be many hardships to come, I still have to hold on'.
! But from I don't know when, I can no longer write works like this.
! I am full of hatred towards men's so-called happiness, and had to push the characters I poured my heart out to create into the abyss of tragedy.
! For all things in the world, if we just leave them alone and pay them no attention, they are bound to advance in a negative direction.
! Just like no matter what we do we can't stop the universe from getting colder. It is only a world that is created through a compilation of 'progresses of common sense'; it can never escape the bondage of its physical laws.
! Therefore, in order to write a perfect ending for a story you have to twist the laws of cause and effect, reverse black and white, and even possess a power to move in the opposite direction from the rule of the universe. Only a heavenly and chaste soul that can sing carols of praise towards humanity can save the story. To write a story with a perfect ending is a double challenge to the author's body and soul."
! Bravo.
Finished watching Madoka. All I can say is, what a disappointment. Don't take my opinion to heart, though. I'm a harsh critic.
Oh. Madoka episode 11 was quite great. 12 is what took a dump on me. I'll pretend episode 12 never happened and the end of 11 was an open ending left up to the viewer. SO MUCH BETTER!
The show, as a whole, was entertaining. The best show of the season? Not in my book.
I adored these final two episodes.
Made me cry too, they did. I still can't really bring myself to say much out of an inability to formulate, other than I really did feel a lot of satisfaction out of them. The ending was so tightly put together and so well planned out. I really dug it all.
Judging by some of the responses I see on the internet, I think a whole lot of people didn't "get" episode 12.
Guess we'll talk about it as more people finish the series.
But I'm with you, Holy.
I think a whole lot of people didn't "get" episode 12.
Careful. There are a number of said fans that fully comprehend what transpired, including the buildup with foreshadowing. Simply because these people didn't like the turn of events doesn't mean that they "don't get it".

If you're not one of those folks who "didn't get it," I'm not talking about you…?
The best part really of everything is that
! They're still hanging out with Kyuubey after all of this. His portrayal was one of my favourite parts of this. I always appreciated how, at heart, he was really cast in an observer role, watching from above, operating on rules that went outside the human characters.
! Homura feeding his ass like dog treats made me grin.
