PS3 used to play Funi One Piece DVDs: Any issues?

I recently purchased my first FUNI One Piece DVD, and noticed the PS3 was acting funny. It was Season 1, Third Voyage, and it was purchased brand new.

When the disc is inserted in the PS3, it makes a very loud vibration sound. It begins to vibrate very hard.
It is a PS3 Slim and was purchased new maybe 2 months ago. One person told me that the old Funi DVDs messed up his PS3.

Why is it like this? Should I continue to play them even though it makes that loud noise while loading the disc?
Do you use a PS3 to play these DVDs?

A lot of DVD's do that in the PS3 but it only lasts for a like a few seconds, it won't hurt anything.

same here my seem to play fine as well, however i own the 80 gb fat, but i think there is little difference

I noticed some black noise (Fuzz in areas of black) and wondered what settings are recommended.
The PS3 has these main settings:

Block Noise Reduction
Mosquito Noise reduction
Frame Noise reduction
and Upscale.

Upscale is set to full because I prefer the image being stretched to fill the screen, but what about the first 3 settings?

Stretching it probably causes problems.

Is your TV LCD or plasma?

I would stick with upscale, it looks beautiful. (at least that is what I think my setting is, can check later).

It is a Vizio 32" 720P LCD.
I left it on upscale because it did look good,
but I was unsure of the noise reduction settings.

Are yours set on default?
If not, what are they set to?

I have:
BD/DVD Upscaler: Normal
The rest is pretty much automatic.

With a LCD, your blacks aren't going to be as deep.

The only Playstation related problems with my OP dvds are that my cousin's PS2 can't play them, though it could be that he dropped his PS2 many times before.

But yeah, my Ps3 makes those noises sometimes when it loads some movie or games, too but so far it hasn't broke and I had this system for nearly 4 years now.

Never had a single problem like the ones mentioned here on my PS3 when playing movies/games. Of course, mine's a 80GB Fat PS3…

I watch all my One Piece DVD's on my PS3, no problems.

The vibrating could be caused by an unbalanced DVD. My PS3 would do that on the Moribito DVDs because the disc labels were all the way up to the center edge and it would cause extreme vibrating.

As for settings, my long distance vision is shot and I can't tell if any of them make a difference.
