I can't get over how awesome the drapery looks in the pencil sketch.
-
FINALLY a new thread <3~
Oh two more versions ~ rawr~
aw, you changed the hand and put on more details. I love you <3~
And I have boobs ~I'm not fan of these flashy colors but I guess, that's the JJBA influence~
and while we speak about influence, no heart symbol?;)Thanks again, dear! <3~
-
@DanialG:
I can't get over how awesome the drapery looks in the pencil sketch.
Yeah it looks more eye-catching but makes less sense I think.

And there's heart symbol in the trident.:whistling: -
Yer getting better dood.
Agreed with above. Nice cloth!

I'd work some more on the angle of the face and some on the left arm. Pretty great nonetheless.
And I see I did the right choice when I picked you for the most indecisive. Or maybe I didn't.
-
That looks…awkward.
I may think about clicking your spoilers next time. -

Very detailed. I think you did a fine job with the muscle structure, in particular the abdomen. And you got the feet just right too. I also like the way you detail the hair on that woman. It just feels so wavy.
That said, the vagina looks a bit off. Not exactly sure how to explain it.
-
Thanks for the comment, Jay. I fixed the vagina. I am pretty sure I am not an expert about it.
Fucking vagina. How does it work?
@Gekko135:Yer getting better dood.
Agreed with above. Nice cloth!
Thanks, mr. Pimp.

Thanks. I fixed the arm. Not sure about the face.
I think the angle is kinda like this: http://i.imgur.com/tAz7U.jpg?8162 -

I like it, especially her face–and you've certainly improved a lot on your proportions, which seems amazing since you were so good before already! But I wonder, given the rest of her physique (she is muscular, but not overly so, like the first pic I posted below), if her torso muscles may be a little too well defined for a female? But of course I am in no way any sort of expert on what body building does to a woman's body. As for your own comment, IMHO the clitoris and labia (the vagina is more of an internal part, dear--at the least it's not visible from the angle you were portraying) appear fine. What is it about that bit you are unhappy with?
Anyway, here are some various women body builders and their torsos...

In my opinion it's entirely possible for a woman to develop such degree of torso muscle, if she, of course, focuses on practicing that area. I soft of want it to be that way, to give an impression of firmness of a warrior.
What I was trying to do here is to give my character the aura and grace of a hero, a god. I absolutely refuse to portray my female protagonist as solely beauties, as sexual objects for men to look at. Hence my attempt to create the image of a woman whose beauty contain refined strength, both in physique and in mind.As for your own comment, IMHO the clitoris and labia (the vagina is more of an internal part, dear–at the least it's not visible from the angle you were portraying) appear fine. For the most part I am pretty much satisfied with the current version, however I am well aware of the fact that my ability in drawing vagina is not yet mastered, thus result in inconsistent quality and often messed up, as can be viewed in the picture in Jay's quoting post, and was semi-joking about it.
Anyhow, plenty thanks for your carefully researched and prepared comment, mama. -
On top of being a Huge OP fan, I'm also a Jojo fan so it's awesome that someone has finally mixed both styles together.
I like ur first nami image, tho the nose seems a little off to me, but still great stuff.
-
Maybe it's just me, but I really don't see the OP influence in Sea's drawings.
Personally, Sea's style looks more like a mash up between Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Hokuto no ken with his own spin on it.
-
@Al!naJames:
If there's anything to HAHA about it's your icon, babe.
I am looking forward to an elaborated criticism from you about that icon/avatar, because it is an edited version of my work.
Sincerely.
Sea. -
Blue eyes on Nami = crime
-
beka made the best comeback post ever
like always
-
@Al!naJames:
Blue eyes on Nami = crime
I was drawing Nami the poster according to her real life appearance and not Nami the character.
-
This post is deleted!
-
Ah, and of course she also has the same hair and the tattoo?
-
our nami has like, the same hair she does in that avatar.
and does OP nami have piercings in her lip?
are you retarded.
-
Did you ever heard of such thing as artistic freedom?
People draw Luffy with piercings all the time.
How am I suppousted to know it's "not this Nami, but that Nami" if the drawing has Nami's tattoo? I doubt that girl is so much of a fan that she made herself the same tat, or is she? Why didn't she put in contacts then?Oh no, it's not Laffitte on my icon, it's me in cosplay with a piece of apple stuck in my throat. The hell?
Anyway, if you want some real critique, here it is:

Why don't you take a look at how Nami look like:http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/4592/nami0.jpg
http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/998/nami3.jpg -
Artistic freedom would support the piercings and the tattoo, depending on which way you looked at it. Fuck, and the eyes.
-
@THE:
Uhm, her username is Nami so of course it's natural that I put some characteristics of OP Nami in her.:
What you did is put forum-Nami's blue eyes and lip rings on OP Nami. Because if, let's say, her hair looks anything like what you pictured I probably need new eyes.
Anyway.
I showed you the broken neck and the broken skull regardless of what's drawn on it. -

Oh right, OP Nami has that nose too.
I made the hair wavy to represent the image of the wave.Anyway.
I showed you the broken neck and the broken skull regardless of what's drawn on it.Regardless, thank you.^^
-
The drawing has pretty large nose, btw. I am not complaining about that since we all know the bigger the nose the better. But the actual person's has a pretty small accurate nose. Just sayin'.

If you think that it's a huge nose…
It may be a bit wide, but it's not long. -
The face in the background of the picture looked more like real life Nami I suppose. A larger size is easier to be accurate.
Regardless of your intention, thank you for your careful observation, Alina. Hope you come here and comment more frequent.^___^
-
I feel personally insulted.
-
Oh and yeah, perhaps I should mention that I had short hair LIKE NAMI till september. As soon as I saw the first timeskip spoilers I immediatly let my hair grow just so I could be like Nami <3
not.
It's hilarious how Alina insults my Avatar without knowing what it actually shows, people try to explain it to her and she still bitches around, lol.
-
You feel personally insulted? About what? About me defending your nice nose that's pictured as a shnobel?
I saw the full picture in this thread, it says "Nami-the wave". How the hell I should know it's a portrait of you made through OP-Nami filter and not just fanart of Nami drawn for you because you like the character? Every second japanese fanart of Luffy has him in some weirdass clothing or with holes in the face and there are alot of people who are "creative" enough to draw Nami with blue eyes.
The face is badly drawn and I've shown why, mein kleiner Freund. -
Yeah, sorry, seems I'm blind. I see absolutly no similarity in my Avatar to the OP Nami. I only see MY red hair, MY piercings, MY blue eyes, MY haircut, MY nose (which I btw think Sea draw very well. And if someone can actually say if the nose is wrong or right, then it is me.), MY circles under the eyes.
I am not the first User Sea draw so it's weird that you only notice this now. What I try to say: Next time you feel like bitching around. Get information beforehand. But of course you can always go and make a fool out of yourself. Amusing for me.
And it would be "meine kleine Freundin".
-
Would have been if it wasn't intended to be musculine.
If you're telling people not to make fool of themselves at least stop doing it yourself by doubleposting on forums.Heh, Sea says he stylised hair to add up to wave theme, you say it's "your hair", where's the truth? Care to show me a picture of your hair looking like that?
I know you're just being defending about your giftart missy, but you started this scheiße yourself.
-
@Al!naJames:
Heh, Sea says he stylised hair to add up to wave theme
The head part is her haircut and the tail is made wavy.
Plus in the first response of the thread she said: "I have boobs" and I usually draw forum members so I thought everyone knows.
My apologize to the viewers for being confusing. -
Erm, I know she's a girl. It's like trying to prove me somebody I'm talking to is male after I used "oh my goddess!"@THE:
The head part is her haircut and the tail is made wavy.
I.e. not her hair.
-
@Al!naJames:
Erm, I know she's a girl.
I mean she saying that is an indication that the picture was a portrait of her and I thought everybody can notice that.
-
my double post was on purpose.
I know it's hard to imagine, but I often have wavy hair because I often wear plaited braids. And they also get wavy after sleep.
!
is this wavy enough for you or do I have to look for more wavy hair pics so you'll be satisfied?I feel sorry for you, that you feel so insulted about me laughing at you for being most perverted that you have to go and make Sea's art bad. This is so ridiculous and I hope you will someday, not today or tomorrow, but eventually figure that out on your own.
-
And if someone can actually say if the nose is wrong or right, then it is me..
Plenty of people can say that the nose is a tad bit too long. It's easily noticed that it's a bit to long. (just a bit)
Following the Golden Ratio usually works for most photographs. someones drawing. The drawing, regardless if it has mistakes or not, looks nice, wonderful composition and a lot of metaphoric anatomy.. The fact is, critiques are needed, regardless if they're harsh or not. As long as they point out the truths and faults of a drawing, they'll help someone grow as an artist. I for one think it represents you okay. Maybe have a reference if you do another member picture, so there's no confusion or ranting, or insulting from people that was completely unnecessary.
-
I don't have a problem with Alina pointing out critique, I have a problem with her reasons behind doing that. And how she does it.
And the most ridiculous thing about it. She actually wanted to insult me, but insulted Sea's drawing and therefore Sea himself more instead. -
Here, I went over the other picture you posted, since you asked for more critique.
[hide][/hide] -
Thank you for your effort Alina. And Daniel too.^__^
And if I am to say anything of the problem, then: I am not here, in the art section, to judge anyone's personality, but only judge the quality of art. Here in my art thread, I am the artist, and nothing else. In other sections, I could sometimes be the rude poster, the sarcastic snarker, but here, as an artist, I must always be impersonal. In other subjects, I wouldn't mind if an artist flames like no tomorrow, however in the subject of art, especially about his own works, the artist must always be the listener, and impartially welcome all kind of criticism.
Thank you for speaking in my behalf, Nami, but I only want to talk about art here, so let's handle this dispute elsewhere. Hope you understand. -
I was worried this would have gotten out of hand. But yeah, that's good thinking. I remember Oda once saying that he treated his characters and his work like "stars within their spotlight" and it was his job to make sure they are prepared for it. It's a pretty cool analogy.
-
Thanks for understanding, Hiroy.
I just left my apartment and returned home for the traditional new year holidays (Tết). Currently without scanner, so I guess no art from me for a while, unless I do some digital pieces or can use another scanner. I solved my problem with my family though. -
I think aside from the awkward pose, her feet look way too small for her body. Its so strange because that left hand looks really nicely rendered in comparison.
Also, I do understand that you are portraying her as a goddess, but a woman with that much muscle would have had way too much testosterone, and therefore boob shrinkage. Plus, her breasts would not be that close together on their own.I think Alina's critique was pretty spot on. And also, I'm glad that you don't take critiques personally on your art. Definitely some good stuff in here. (Love the Jojo influence)
-
Hey Sea I don't post much but I wanted to say that your drawings have helped me become a better artist. Your comparisons of inked and non inked pieces have really helped me out with the whole inking process (Inking always seemed to make my stuff come out worse.) Anyway keep up the good work.
-
Haha, thanks you two. Didn't check this thread until now.
Back to my apartment. During the time I was blue, I kinda drew a lot of nonsensical, miscellaneous stuffs. Just meaningless doodling, without thinking about proportion. Here are some that don't suck too much. Some of them may be pretty large and may stretch the page.!
