Okay, the poll is for what your final result is so don't vote till your sure although it might be biased since this forum is on the manga side more. So basically lets discuss in what ways manga is better and which ways anime is better. I personally don't have a side. Manga saves me time, although the anime sets the scene with color and music. I'm not sure what to vote. What do you guys think, why do you think your choosing is better?
Anime and Manga
-
-
Guys dont just vote.. include why.
-
Woah, Deja Vu!!
Well, I've said this before but I like Anime better. Mostly because its more… interactive.
-
Manga because thats how Oda wanted us to expierence his story.
And only from the hand of the mastermind can it be delivered in his full glory.
(also the best story in my eyes doesnt have the best anime quality. when i look at other animes which are better drawn and more stylish iam sometimes sad that OP doesn
t get that honor.
but non the less the anime can also be fun and a joy to watch some things coloured and animated, but as i said nothing compared to the original(manga)) -
@Don:

I feel this very same way at times.
Either way, though, I would say the manga is better overall. The anime, however, is much flashier. But flawed.
-
the manga off course :)

Well its not flawed because it's made however the manga is, although some scenes being changed around so i wouldn't call it flaws. More like… changes i guess. I know you guys like Oda's exact version but anime is fun to watch for fights and things like that some times. I don't know, maybe it's just me but i can't imagine how a fight goes through a series of pictures.
-
Never, never, never, list "color" as a pro of the anime.
-
@JERK:

Well there isn't any other good thing about it, is there? Except for it's animated and it moves..
-
Someone make the poll results public so we can jeer at the one sap who voted anime.
-
The manga for one piece beats the anime overall in terms of art, pacing, story, and in some cases, action. In my opinion.
-
It was probably Dan.
-
@Cyan:

How do i make it public?
-
Manga!!, Its of THE creator himself!!!.
BUT i have to say. the ACtion scenes and the feeling you get with the Anime is Really good.

That was me Jeer away!!

Amazing, I voted it as well.
Mostly because of the action scenes and music. Plus in the subbed anime, I get to learn some Japanese.

hahahaha no
are you one of those girls that squee KAWAI with their friends while hovering over the computer screen?

Nope. I actually very much like the manga, I just have no problem with the anime.
-
The anime needs attention. Oda works very hard on the manga, but the anime is on a low budget and is often poorly portrayed. Not to mention the anime come out way later. Manga is better in every way.
-

So a girl who wants to learn Japanese by listening to it is a kawaii-squealer? I for example pay attention to what they say in anime to learn with something that keeps my attention in it. So don't judge people so fast.
I guess that if I actually look at the original sound-effects in manga and try to read them makes me a weeaboo?

A huge weeaboo at that.
-
A ban should probably be instituted on people voting anime except I kind of like Kymoudin so I don't know.

You on the other hand can die.
-
Manga all the way. Though I did like the anime through Skypiea.
50 episodes of Thriller Bark? No thank you.
Is it wrong if 90% of the 10 or so Japanese words I know I learned from watching the anime?
-
Thank you for clarifying me that. I'll just stick to my actual studying books then. I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic or not, so I went with you being serious.
I just thought that hearing natives speaking the language would help a bit. Of course I don't use OP as my source of learning, but rather as a little help. You're being a bit harsh on people who like anime. Though I agree that the manga is way better.
-
I'm being harsh?
You know I don't think I come off that way, but I'm a bit concerned that people are getting that from my posts. Thanks, sort of, troubling stuff to think about.
-

Hmm, after all my years of watching the anime I think its safe to say that the only word of japanese I've learned is "baka"(thank you Franky )
-
I'm going to learn some really obscure language like Afar and use it to curse out packs of weeaboos whenever I hear them using japinglish while porking out on pocky in my local Barnes and Noble aisles.
Block me on my way to the history books will you..
-
No need, feel free to do it in a language i know.
-
The point is to one up them on their exoticism but in such a way that I come off as a worldly anthropologist and not a fat loser with cat ear hats.
This is a plan I can't really fail at.
-
Also the Afar are way cooler then the Japanese.
OOOHH GAY SWORDS THAT LOOK LIKE BUG LEGS AND DUMB HISTORY THAT PEOPLE LOVE BUT EVERYTIME THEY LEAVE THE ISLAND THEY GET BEAT UP BY HILARIOUS THINGS LIKE TURTLE SHAPED BOATS AND 1940'S AMERICANS WHO ALL HAD BIG EARS AND TALKED LIKE JIMMY STEWART~
Bitch, horn of africa mother of fuckers, the world's really cool afro resovoir.
check dis fucking innovative afroisage

-
Imagine getting beat up by Jimmy Stewart forever.
That's Japan's entire identity as of 1945.
When the nukes exploded they were followed by a loud stammering "NOW NOW NOW NOW HOLD ON A MINUTE THERE CLARANCE" and then silence.
-
Words like KAWAII, BAKA, and ZUZUSPETALS are all english loan words from things the Japanese thought they heard Jimmey Stewart mumble out while in mid-stammer.
-

Well you could fail….but probably only if you are one of the previously mentioned "fat losers with cat ear hats". Also question, would giraffe ears qualify as well, i don't really like cats.
-

Really!!! That's awesome, Jimmy Stewart is the man. It makes me like those words even more.
-
And yes the "Wackanese" (as I liek to call them" did in fact get literally beat up by boats that looked like turtles.
This is a matter of historical accord, and the reason Japan closed it's borders, because Korea said it would tell everybody about it if Japan tried attacking again.
By the time Korea was attacked and conquered by Japan in the early 1900's though Japan had definitely been to some therapy and talked about it's image issues and anxiety regarding hazing and name-calling. There's a little bit of bittersweet overcoming of fears and high school memories in the way Japan stabbed the Korean empress to death.

I thought this was going to be a shitty thread and planned not to post in it. But this page is awesome.

Well then consider the earlier statement retracted then, my finely muscle toned friend.

JERK has habit of making that happen, not sure yet if he does on purpose on not.

kmouhyudin what ethnic group are you, i need to humiliate them in the context of goofy voiced dead american actors and comparisons to dudes with rockin' hair
unless you guys have rockin' hair in which case share pics so we can tell you how cool your people are
i'm part italian so our hair is basically just greasey as fuck for some reason, not very cool :/
-
I mean if I had to pick through my ethnicities I'd like to have the dark italian hair, but without the grease, so like the english blood would help out
but i got english hair that secretes grease, it's just this huge genetic practical joke and it's absolutely mortifying
-
Just for the record, Sky is 12 years old. Literally. And I tend not to be harsh on members of her age.

Well, I am part Persian… use that as you will... and no, I don't have rockin' hair... whatever the fuck that is
-
Oh dear, this could go a multitude of ways, and I don't think a single one of them will lead us back to the original topic. Just to be safe i will mention the word "MANGA" and now we can talk about whatever, problem solved.
-
If she draws me funny pictures of rappers like I'm going to be asking she can sit on my shoulder and make airplane noises or whatever the hell kids like to do.
Because crude rapper pictures would FUCKING OWN, avatar material.

Oh, I'm sure she'll agree to that. She will also fill it completely with sexual innuendo, its one of her charms.

Mango is a fruit which is indigenous to the Indian subcontinent, belonging to the genus Mangifera, consisting of numerous species of tropical fruiting trees in the flowering plant family Anacardiaceae. While other Mangifera species (e.g. Horse Mango, M. foetida) are also grown on a more localized basis, Mangifera indica – the Common Mango or Indian Mango – is the only mango tree commonly cultivated in many tropical and subtropical regions, and its fruit is distributed essentially world-wide.
In several cultures, its fruit and leaves are ritually used as floral decorations at weddings, public celebrations and religious ceremonies.Wait, what's this thread about again?
