100% agree. The drawing quality is astonishing.
I'm halfway through it. So good so far.
My only complaint (up till where I'm now), is that the main characters are way too damn efficient. Everything they do, they do it right.
But I'm sure shit will happen…

Everything they do, they do it right.
This is not right.
The opponents will start putting them in really intense situations after some volumes describing how talented they are. -
Well this is really an outstanding comic… I've been reading since your recommendation. Thus far the art has been realistic, the characters very strong and the dialogue is full of killer lines. In my opinion one good example is this scene from the first volume:
!
Also, I can't believe I had never heard of the Cambodian genocide before now. Heavy stuff, but absolutely worth reading.
BTW: I was gonna bump this old thread http://apforums.net/showthread.php?t=13699 after finishing the series but it has only two replies so dunno if it's worth merging.

Hey Sea, how are things?
Great manga, by the way. Well, couldn't expect any less from the writer of Hokuto no Ken and artist of the Crying Freemen.
And Mr. Tokai is fucking boss.
My only complaint - the scans are the mirrored, non original Viz edition.
-
The two main characters are a bit generic but awesome nonetheless.
And Tokai is certainly the most interesting character.Hey Sea, how are things?
Pretty fine, I guess.

Ok a new thing to read, thanks!

. . . .I'm just not there yet.
And +1 to Mr. Tokai being awesome.

Crying Freeman.
Your ideal manga where women fighting naked. Sex, violence and the likes.
For some reason (or no reason) most fighters in this manga have tattoo fetish and the habit of taking off their clothes before fighting. -
can't believe I did an all nighter and read 4 volumes of this. What can I say, it's wonderfully good. suspense, good written genius, political intrigue, … I like it.

Behind every successful country leader is a mafia friend.

The gender role in this manga...isn't really progressive, but realistic, as in Japan. -
This is a magnific manga.
A little rushed in the last 2 volumes, but maybe that was intentional, and we had to get this feeling of rush cause Hojo was rushing things for Asami.
-
Finally finished it! What can I say. It's a great, great manga. Perhaps not as col.losally great as, say, Nausicaa, but is fucking great indeed. Ikegami is a REALLY good artist, that's for sure.
Also, the ending. A manly tear must be shed. Mr. Tokai approves of a manly tear when it's needed.
Oh, yes, and also, this.

Hah, I completely forgot that I read this. Buronson and Ikegami make a pretty good team and I think this is their best work. I picked up their latest series (Lord) a few months ago, but I had trouble finding scans, so I haven't been keeping up.

This really needs to have a reprint in US. Or anywhere for that matter.

I love the Sanctuary style, I started out with the manga Heat before I read this (Also Ikegami Ryoichi), but there's not many chapters translated for it so I decided to take my time with Sanctuary first.
I am not disapoint. -
