I have a Canon scanner, but I lost the software that came with it, though the drivers look to be enabled. So, the software I'm using is VueScan, but it doesn't detect the scanner when it's plugged in. The scanner doesn't do anything either when I click the buttons or anything.

      Help?

Maybe you should try to install the official drivers?

I'd already downloaded it, but the drivers aren't working…

Though, I think the problem is they're 32 bit drivers. Is there a way for me to run this scanner under 64 bit?

Vuescan should be working for you. It enables even older scanners to work on a 64 bit system. The scanner should be able to turn on even without the drivers. Does the scanner have power at all? If not then no amount of fiddling with drivers is going to help.

I've installed the 64 bit drivers for the Canon LIDE 100 off of the Canon EU website. I'm still not getting any response from the scanner. When I plug it into my port, the scanner lights up and does a "warm up" scan, but after that there's no sensation. Neither the PC nor the scanner seem aware there's a connection.

                Got it working finally.

Something that's really a problem though, the lid doesn't close…or something, and there's dark black artifact in the corners when I scan stuff. Is there a way to "erase" that to default pure white in VueScan or any other scanning software?
