Language purity?
lol obviously the chinese haven't learned a thing…
their ears would bleed from the impurity of 'slang' and 'engrish'Yeah lol!
imagine if China had internet access, modern culture items, the ability of it's basic language to differentiate regionally into several different dialects (aka slang) such as the fictional languages of Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokka, Gan, Jin, Min, Xiang and many other non-existing things like that. -
Oooh man, I can't wait to get this week's The Epoch Times.
You know what's funny? The Epoch Times article on this subject was written in Chinese.
LOL

I would vote for ban of random use of English in my country if the youth started using it like this:

Furthermore they only ban the random mixing of English and Chinese in publication. While opposite opinions can be legit, but the ban in no way would lead to any downfall of the country.Ma Zhuanghuan, a professor of linguistics at Beijing International Studies University, said he supports the new regulation, because publishers and members of the media should take the backgrounds of readers into account and not use languages too randomly.
"However, I disagree that mixing languages in publications is detrimental to Chinese, because it is natural for one language to be affected by another in its development,"

Hey There, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/14130942 , ooooops, wth did I just read? England is ready to ban english???
But what I hate is the sloppy loss of our own distinctive phraseology through sheer idleness, lack of self-awareness and our attitude of cultural cringe. We encourage the diversity offered by Welsh and Gaelic - even Cornish is making a comeback. But we are letting British English wither.
Britain is a very distinct country from the US. Not better, not worse, different. And long live that difference. That means maintaining the integrity of our own gloriously nuanced, subtle and supple version - the original version - of the English language.

From what I know about English humor I'm convinced that article's half are tongue in cheek. But if it isn't…..wow.
ARGGBARGGA I WON'T BE SAYIN' "FAZE" IF I CAN BLOODY WELL ELP' IT.
LONG LIVE THE DISTINCT NOBLE QUEEN'S ENGLISH.
BOLLOCKS.Though what the hell is "open kimono", never heard that in my life.

In lieu of a comment on how stupid this is, I will instead quote a favourite comedian of mine (Kathleen Madigan) regarding the Chinese language.
"I'm not a fan of the Chinese language either; might just be me, but it sounds like they're always extremely stressed out and yelling at each other. You ask a simple question, and that answer came back fifty times louder and meaner!"

That's kind of unfortunate. So no more Chinese movies with English subtitles. You know, I used to like those Kung Fu movies…. well some of them.
