You have only one post to explain why none of you are setting OP to P-Funk

it has to do with one piece being read primarily by nerdy teenagers who have no idea what good music is. that, in addition to p-funk not being the absolute END ALL of music that encapsulates one piece's spirit or anything–it's just your personal preference.

why aren't amv-makers setting one piece to afrobeat or shoegaze or folk? the list could go on. short answer: the majority of people making amvs are either unaware of what p-funk is or don't like, like the majority of people in general. honestly, why not just have a big thread with a list of music genres you'd like to see one piece amvs set to? maybe some magnanimous person who likes making them will give it a shot, or be inspired.

an even better option might be to just listen to whatever music genre you prefer while reading the freaking manga. problem solved. frustration ended.

Responding to the first post

I did on my original youtube account that got shut down and it was one of the reasons I got shut down so haven't felt compelled to do another one. I probably will eventually when Funi releases the rest of this season.

Edit: I actually have some free time over the next couple weeks so I'm gonna read through this thread for some suggestions…............Unless this thread went off topic or something in which case give me some suggestions.

Like from around the first major Ninja Tunes releases until around the time any hype around Dizzee and The Streets died out.

'Get Up Offa That Thing' and 'Get Up, Get Into It, Get Involved' for assorted party shots. Hell, Django's Dance Carnival is perfect for those songs.

Well that's a given, but I'm talking about your average everyday amv consisting of fight sequences and exploration. Moments like the dance carnival or brookes various parties is mostly what it's limited to.

Again I'm a bit sceptical about it. Its not that we don't have the characters, but that the pace would be a little slow.

I think my opinion on amv's though is a little too particular for this. The only things I've notably liked is the fast paced mixes of the various arcs and its fights. I don't really get the nami X luffy or dancing franky clips.

Can you really say that one piece as a whole has a single tone? to me, it seems to vary way too much for someone to say that one specific music genre suits one piece best. from personal experience i've learned not to argue music with people who know more about it than i do, but if i was making an amv with a clips of a fight, where luffy is putting his life and dreams on the line, funk is not the music i would set it to.
for one pieces lighthearted wackiness though; perfect.

since i remember oda saying that he gave luffy rubber powers to try to keep the series lighthearted even in its most serious moments, i can't argue with that. but i think the series does have enough serious in it to condense into a 3 minute amv that fits with some heavy mood setting music, if thats what you wanna focus on. i don't mind amvs set to shitty music, its just that they don't capture one piece's true spirit. what does annoy me is the sheer fucking quantity of them. for example, not a single amv out of the hundreds i could find based on nami tried to compliment her feisty independant character. every single goddamn one was about luffy saving her set to some annoying love song, using clips from arlong park and drum island. i feel like the majority of one piece fans just like the series for a tiny percent of its content.
