    Best 'basic' version of photoshop?

      i've heard CS is a good one, but i'd like to know, what's the best bare-bones version of photoshop to get? my current comp is pretty sucky, and i'm just going to be using it for image resizing and cleaning– adding text and maybe a few grey tones.

      which of the older versions would you recommend for me?

          unless you are professional in some big industry. nearly everything you can do i photoshop can be done on gimp. Its free and in many ways better too.

            someone actually recommended paint.net, which i think is a simpler version of gimp.
            and yeah, i used to use gimp–it's awesome. might try that.
