Better dub voice actors

Hey… first post here... Anywho, I was wondering...

any of you people think that Steven Jay Blum (Voice of Spike on Cowboy bebop, Tom on Toonami, and Mugen on Samurai Champloo) who have been a good voice choice for Sanji and or Mihawk? Just something that came to mind....

Here's a badly made Dub clip, but it gives us all an idea of what it would be like if Steven Jay Blum voiced Sanji…

Do you think it's a good idea? Is it better than the english dub voice we're hearing now?

(in more personal opinion, I think so)

I changed the thread a bit... besides Steven Jay Blum as Sanji, who do you think would have been better voice actor choices for other characters?

Well, he's got the coolness. But what about when he goes nuts over a woman? Blum's a cool guy and all, but I've never heard him act hysterically lovestruck.

He'd be an Ok Sanji, but I wouldn't pick him.

He would be VERY miscast as Mihawk.

I think he would make a good Zoro. For Sanji though, I would pick Jeff Nimoy, who did Wolfwood for Trigun.

Jeff Nimoy is too gruff to be Sanji. Steve Blum is too over-used to play ANYONE in One Piece. No offense to the guy, he's great, I'm just experiencing a little Blum over-saturation lately.

I'm tired of hearing him as BOTH Kazuma and Mugen within an hour of eachother.

Sure he's overused, but he'd be a great Sanji.

What I think is that practically ANYBODY would do a better dub voice for Sanji than the voice he has now…shudders ... as for Mihawk... I don't know... (tries to remember a line that Mihawk says, so that I can try to imagine him saying it in that voice...)

Blum voices lightly moody badass 20 somethings. Mihawk is none of those.

If Blum voiced ALL of One Piece, it would be of better quality.

Seriously, he doesn't fit Mihawk or Sanji.

I don't think he'd be that good because he's got this moody, pissed undertone, while Sanji is more a meticulous guy who freaks out now and then. But I did like the clip you put together, lol

He can change that tone… Ever see Megas XLR? (it's gone now, but meh...)He voices one of the main characters, "Jamie" which I did not know until AFTER I read the credits

I think he'd be a good Zoro, given how he's done with Mugen in Champloo.

I don't think Blum would fit Zoro at all, personally. He'd be better as Sanji, at least.

In my ideal dub, Lex Lang would voice Zoro, Patrick Seitz would play Sanji, and William Frederick would be Mihawk, but why are we even torturing ourselves anyway? It's not like even in the unlikely scenario that 4kids lost the license, we would get a new dub of One Piece before at least five years had past, if ever. When I think of all the potential this show had and how it was wasted for a quick buck and Al Khan's greed and narrow-mindedness it just makes me sad.

I just think it's kind of fun to think of actors who could play the part….of course, we already have at least one thread like this, probably more.

Well I'm ofcourse just going with how he normally dubs, dunno about his full scale of talents. Btw, it's quite funny to imagine this guy doing Luffy.. it'd be like a whole new character..

Speaking of Luffy, I think the guy who played Higei from wolves rain, would make a PERFECT Luffy. Plus, everytime he laughs, he doesn't give me the intense urge to KILL myself when I hear him do it!:eek:

Nah, I don't think his voice is crazy enough to be Luffy… I dunno who'd be a good Luffy, he's a tough choice >.> Who's the only voice actor who sounds closest to the original dub voice of Luffy?

If anyone could do a good impression of Mayumi Tanaka's Luffy, it would be Colleen O'Shaughnessey. She play a character on Konjiki no Gash Bell who originally was voiced by Tanaka-san, and she sounded pretty close in pitch and tone.
