It's also kinda interesting how your always the first to start/make a new episode thread like Zach does with a new chapter thread.

Sounds like he used a monkey paw to make a porno story come true.
Then the curse of the paw eventually killed him.
In terms of pacing, this episode would have been almost perfect if it was not for the Buggy filler that cut the drama.
Once again, the manga felt more epic.
The animation was not great but I am not mad.
Great episode overrall.
The art was kinda…well, bad. I guess all those katakana names in the animator credits was a tip off.
There wasn't anything terribly offensive in this episode, but there wasn't anything outstanding, either.
The episode was pretty good. Really like the final scene of the episode.
Decent episode, I suppose. The art got iffy, but it also had a lot of filler that didn't suck.

filler scenes with the Whitebeard commanders fighting against the Vice Admirals were very nicely done and unexpected
also the scene where all the commanders stopped the bazookas was epic to the max

sigh. This episode was … ok I guess. Only saved by the last few minutes. But most of it was just running and yet MORE fights starting, and Whitebeard making marines fly around the place.
Is Luffy running in slow motion? How do people keep getting ahead of him? Also, one weird scene, it shows the commanders starting to fight the vice admirals for Luffy.... and then it shows them running beside him... and then later on it goes right back to the exact placement in the previous scene when they were fighting? The Fishman commander and others also appeared in the skirmish in front of Luffy (before Inazuma showed up). How are they getting ahead of him? Even Whitebeard and Kizaru, who WEREN'T running at all, seemed to catch up to Luffy at the ramp. Either Oda has no concept of spatial placement or Luffy is trying out for Baywatch. Just reach the platform already!
... and he did reach the platform :). Which is what saved this episode from being a total headache. I've never seen anyone move so little distance with such a long stride.
But, hallelujah... it appears the running episodes of One Piece are over now... Luffy has reached the platform.... if he somehow gets knocked back to start again though, I'm going to throw something.
AND DON'T give the excuse that Luffy is tired. Look at him, he's running at a normal sprinting pace, he's just not moving anywhere, and people keep teleporting in front of him somehow.
Lifeless episode is lifeless…
I didn't mind this weeks episode, though Buggy…
I did like most of it though and next week will probably be a nice collage of flashbacks to kid-Luffy and Garp (maybe a bit of kid-Ace too?) and THE PUNCH. Looking forward to it.

As most previous posters have said, 'twas a decent episode overall…the Buggy filler made it even worse...but when Garp made his entrance, it sorta redeemed itself again, somewhat, so I'm not left too unsatisfied. :P
Last week's episode remains better than this one's by far, though, in my opinion. ;)
I liked the episode, but there were a few things that bothered me. The animation was a little off; it kinda bothered me when Luffy was running and his arm pops straight through his hat. I also really hated how Luffy was running in near slow motion with WB's people surrounding him, never seeming to make any progress.
I did like the end. I like Garp.

The triumphant music cutting off was priceless, if expected.

Even though I know exactly whats going to happen, I feared Garp this episode, he just seems so intimidating.
Ok episode this week, the directing by Sonoda was great. Animation wise it was okay.
Not much happened in this chapter anyway, but my gripe is about next week. Where the main fight scene looks average, I'm extremely disappointed Toei.
So, yeah. Episode was decent.
-Why does Toei have a problem giving Doberman a dead eye when they have "Holebeard" whose a walking blood fountain?
-Whitebeard owning shit up. Again. But wait, it's filler. Oh.
-The New World Allies were really showing their stuff. That's the magic of implied mini filler.
-Why does that monkey have a gun?
-Crocodile clashing with Mihawk was meeeh. Mihawk's like, "Holy shit! It's Crocodile. I have to stop what I'm doing and stare at him for ten seconds!"
-Jesus Christ. More Buggy filler. This time he's giving one hell of a rape face to a poor defenseless snail.
-The animation was reeeeeeeally below average for most of this episode
-Why does that monkey have a gun?
-Hey look, it's that crab guy. Hey look, the marines can't do shit. Hey look, Kizaru got slashed by Whitebeard and fell over on his ass. Ha!
Next week, it's Luffy vs. Garp, grandson vs. grandfather, blood vs blood.

Episode was pretty good for me. I enjoyed the implied filler with the New World Allies, and hell, even Buggy's "rape face" got a laugh out of me. Art seemed a little meh throughout the episode, and the animation was decent, though some sequences just seemed so stiff. Other than that, it was a passable episode with some good filler. The war has been going well for me so far.

Well the art wasn't so decent, like the previous ep.
The Buggy filler is seriously getting tired of it, I prefer the Hancock filler.
The episode was meh…till Garp appears and that when it's getting exciting.
So Ace is finally gonna get freed in the next ep 480, right?
I thought this was a great episode, except for the Buggy filler of course. I hate Buggy filler.

Pretty good episode, but Boa Hancock looked odd again this episode. Reminds me of how she looked during the first few episodes of this arc.

Am I the only one who really loved this episode? Meh, must be because I'm a great fan of the VAs…

Doberman has a sword, again, he must have found it. And I kinda get used to his coat or I don't know what that thing is that every VA wear. His eye, well, it's a minor thing, but it'd better if they just showed it properly.

Why is it that Frenchstache got that much attention? I mean, great, but we have others too. I found that funny that everybody knew who Momonga and Doberman were, but they called the others just Vice-Admiral.

I must say, I really loved those filler fight scenes with the VAs.
Overall, great episode in my opinion.

DAT monkey was awesome indeed. Also it was good when the happy ending music was suddenly interrupted by Garp.
doma was my favourite character in that whole episode, such a gd character…
its gd episode for those anime only viewers. moved quite quickly as well unlike the one chapter per episode.
