I didn't get to read the manga earlier as they don't sell any of them around here and was stuck with the german anime broadcast. So I watched from 2003 onwards. I love the music box theme in the intro to the point where I was a fan of the series before a word was even spoken. Fairly sure I would have been an avid One Piece watcher without it, too. It would have only kicked in later.
