could anyone suggest some good dimensions for resizing scanned and cleaned artwork to that works for most monitor sizes? i'm hoping to do a webcomic soon, and i'd really appreciate suggestions from people with experience uploading comic page-sized artwork onto the internet. i want it to be readable and the viewer to not have to do much, if any, scrolling around to see the sides of the page.
i really appreciate any advice, guys.
If you´re doing a full page, like a manga, normally manga reading sites use 750x1050~1100 pixels, I think it works for everyone…
If you are doing one of those scrol down comics were theres one panel under the other, I think any size is good, if you can see the individual panels fully. (As in, you dont hae to scroll to read the same panel)
Like you said, as long as you dont have to scroll to the side, its fine...
The best w/h to use for pages is the standard 11 x 8.5
It comes out at this size once submitted:

As you can see, the page is large enough to see, but still compact enough that it fits on the screens.
I tested a lot of other sizes myself, but the standard paper size did the best imo. Hope this helped!

The problem with trying to size it to fit on computer monitors without having to scroll, is that a lot of the time it's hard to read (or maybe that's just me)
Traditionally, web designers target a 1024x768 screen; it covers most of the market.
The largest common sizes are 1920x1080 (1080p HDTV), 1920x1200 on 24" - which is growing less popular as cheap 1920x1080 monitors come out, 2048x1536, on old 21" tube monitors, and 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 on 30" monitors.
I suggest also thinking about file format. A PNG file will be lossless and avoid fringing on edges and text, but big.
