Just a birthday card from my Mom this year. I'm not one for holidays and birthdays, they usually go wrong and something happens, like last year for christmas I just asked for some money so that I could get what I wanted no problem, and my Dad talked me into just making a list for him, with what I would buy. So I put stuff on a list, and it turns out their was financial problems so I got 1/4 of the stuff of my list, and some stuff I really didn't want. And Because I'm a twin, birthdays are never good, never really had a good birthday party since I was 6 because my brother and I are total opposites and have total opposite friends.
So This year for my birthday hadn't been going so good. Stuff had been going on, and…well sorry if I'm going into a rant. My brother and I had been fighting for a while, and we shared a room for years. We had one bunk bed in a crammed room since we were little, and over the summer vacation, he had vacated himself to a large room in our basement, basically making it his own room. The problem is, we had this small bunk bed(Which could detach from each other) and, well since I had grown up, it was way too small. I couldn't even sit up in it, and I was beginning to develop a claustrophobia or something being in my crammed room, and started having panic attacks.
So for my birthday, I asked for Windows 7 Home premium about 3 weeks in advance. On the day of my birthday, my Dad said he had a big surprise for me and my brother. As we got home...Surprise! My dad(not being able to do this himself because of a surgery) had gotten my grandpa over, to bring his tools for me. My birthday surprise was allowing me to dismantal the bed, and tear out the damaged carpet, taking the entire day, and leaving me with a paint stained floor and staples all over the ground.
So I did had a shitty day in school already, and got to do something I asked my Dad to do months ago, that he passed off as a gift. And I did not get Windows 7, just 50 Dollars even though I was assured I would get it. However, what made my day was a card I got from my Mom. It was a card with a recording from "The Office" With Michael Scott ranting about birthdays. It had been simple, but it showed that at least someone from my family actually paid attention to something I said, and my mom the next week had started to help me with my room, stating that it was obvious I had been being neglected for over a year. So just that card, showing she listened to me made my day, and I will keep that card for as long as I can.
