I did jackshit in highschool. A whole lot of it was goofing the fuck off with my friends, and then going to Anime Club on Wednesday. I paid attention and did things in classes that interested me. Mostly in English classes with a teacher I loved to bits with a classmates that were so radically different from me and each other, it made the whole thing fun.
After saying fuck it, and getting my GED, I went on to get a job as a web developer for four years, and only after I was laid off, I finally said, "Welp, knowing and learning stuff might help me find a new job."
I think the only thing I really know for sure right now is that in any field of work - ANY field of work - you have to really love what you do.
And on the munny munny munny subject, money doesn't buy happiness, but it makes about half of your "adult" suffering easier when you have some.
I just got a big check from my financial aid, and my plans for it are: This is gonna pay off this, this, and maybe some of this.
But I'll still have this, that, the other thing, and oh, my, no way am I out of everything.
Having the money will just ease me out of paying off a few things.
