Glad you are enjoying it.
I am assuming you have watched all the episodes?
Including the undubbed with subtitles?
You are now watching the Drum arc, right?
yes he is, stts.
and welcome to the forums!
well what can i say, it just is.
it has the adventure, great cast, awesome villains, and a great story to boot. how a Shonen series should be,
i did already watch it in subs until 471 and i always have the motivation to repeat one piece from episode 1 every year.. and it's suprisingly great even i already watch it many times already.. such things that i never feel when i watch certain shonen type anime's =)
it's my first time watching it in funidub, and the only thing that i could say is that it's awesome.. i only have the funidub episode till 182 and then continue with the subs =)
I rewatch many episodes. Can't wait till I order them on DVD.
Sanji is one of my favorite characters, so I never really liked the FUNI voice after hearing the japanese version. I will probably the dubs when I get tired and can't focus on subtitles. Like when staying up all night.

the longest episode run that i have was about 40 episodes in a day, about 16 hoursā¦ and that's specifically at thriller bark.
it's just great even you watch it many times.
I was watching so many episodes when I first started. It was probably 20 or so a day. I didn't care for Thriller Bark. Although I do like Bink's Sake and Brook.
Oh God, I remember the first time I ever properly watched my own Japanese episodes. It was magical. This whole new world of an interest. Such fond memories of Kokoro no Chizu blasting out as my favourite characters popped up onto the screen.
When I saw Kokoro no Chizu it was amazing! I loved how they put together the video.
They pieced so many clips together. That is a standard set for a good AMV.
kokoro no chizu was one of the OP tracks that i really love.. even if you watch 20 episodes a day, one piece is really long..
but once you start it, it's hard to stop watching now =)
And this is news to who exactly? Of course it is.
"One Piece we love you!"
"Shut up baby I know it!"
When i watch One piece, it seems i have to finish the entire arc before I can stop, that's how addicted i get.
hahahaā¦ i still have a long way to go... almost in the climax of alabasta arc.. (currently at episode 110)
btw, how long does the funidub go? does it go way up to water7 arc? it will be fantastic if it will be dubbed
It will be dubbed. Right now they are finishing up the Sky Island arc.
the first real japanese episodes with english subtitles were kaizoku fansubs' skypiea arcā¦now THAT was magical......i mainly decided to pick it up there because of the video game, One Piece: Grand Advenure
=) i also love how they translate the OP and ED songs.. it's good if there is a full version of each opening and ending song.. but of course, it's impossibleā¦
anyway i checked one of the threads here and i found out that there are some OP music out there:
http://www.apforums.net/showthread.php?t=20444
there is only one music there that is not existing, ED08 - Shining ray (Sung by Justin Houston)
can someone give me some links for this? i really appreciate it if it's MU or RSā¦
thanks in advance guys, i did not expect that there are people who notice this thread that i made =)
You can use a FLV converter. Go to youtube, find the song, and paste the URL on this site. http://www.video2mp3.net/
One Piece isā¦great?
I did not know that.
just finished episode 119 where zoro defeats mr.1..
just an off topic question.. does zoro used haki in that episode? i just felt that it's haki.
unless there is proof, no he didn't use haki in that episode
Wellā¦ Time for me to start watching One Piece from episode 1 again.:happy::happy:

hahaha good for you mate.. i did the 6 days ago from episode 1.. now i am at episode 143, almost near the jaya arc =)

yep. He did.
It's almost obvious that not only Luffy but also Zoro will learn to use Haki.
Also, he said that he knew where the rocks wouldn't fall (Kenbunshoku Haki).
He talked about the Breath of All Things (very, VERY similair to The Voice of All Things, right?). And at that moment, it was his AMBITION to cut through the steel, which he did.
Though it hasn't been and probably will not be openly revealed that this was really Haki, we can say for almost certain that it was.

I've noticed that zoro said he knew where the rock would fall but it didn't come to my mind that it was haki , but now that i think about it i think i maybe true zoro will learn how to use haki.
Now i'm reading one piece manga for the first time to see the differences between the manga and the anime i'm currently at skypiea where they just finished the ball challenge , there are many noticable differences i didn't know of. i'm thinking once i'm finished with the manga i'll rewatch one piece.
ah.. im almost at the climax of skypiea arc.. (finished watching the funimation episodes that i have till 182)..
well gotta go for the sub ones.. =)
Just finished the Skypiea Saga again in 1 week :)
yeah.. just finished Skypiea Arc.. it's really fantastic even i watch it many times.

What makes One Piece awesome is it never ceases to get more awesome. Just like Luffy never stops getting stronger Oda never tires in bringing us an even more exciting series. For those of us who have been reading and watching it for years and for those who had to watch almost 500 episodes to get caught up recently, we all have come to understand that we're on this journey with Luffy, too. Getting to One Piece is a fantastic adventure. And so is reading/watching it for years. We're all Strawhats.ļ»æ We're all nakama :)

That's what i taught but doesn't that mean he can't cut real steal, since he did it to a devil fruit, not the real thing? I don't think it was Haki. Actually, since that type of haki can make your weapon stronger butā¦ it's not possible because it would have been revealed by now it is haki.

yeah.. you got me there, even i already watch it many times from the start up to the latest.. it never makes me feel bored..
i dunno why, but i've never had the feeling that i get when i watch other types of anime around. that's why i really love One Piece the most.
well im already at episode 229.. the start of water7 arc =)
thats a really nice anime which can never feel you bore..
just get passed with Episode 236.. whenever i watch this part of the series, i always think that Ussop is the one who misunderstood luffy..
and yeah.. i always tend to like most of Zoro's action in times like this which lets me think that he should be the 2nd mate of luffy =).
After the Duel:
Luffy: It's heavy..
Zoro: That's your burden as a captain.
Zoro: Don't Falter..
Zoro: If you do, then who are we supposed to believe in?
What do you mean by misunderstood Luffy? That set of quotes you had was one of the saddest moments in OP for me. It would have to be in my top 5.
Zoro also told Luffy he can't just accept Usopp back. Luffy wanted Usopp back, Zoro says that having someone that could cause a mutiny while out at sea is a bad idea. It was awesome when Luffy was crying when grabbing onto Usopp to bring him back.
I still think Usopp is one of the best characters.

the moment Luffy tells Ussop that Merry can't be fixed.. Ussop just let his feelings go and did not even try to understand luffy's position as a captain..
as for me, after that incident.. the way that i look at ussop changed, he is not my favorite character but atleast he learned to respect Luffy as the captain.. not mentioning his "captain ussop" scheme.
There's a lot of great things in One Piece. I say it values goodwill, respect, effort and dreams. The willingness of going into adventure, not caring what tomorow may bring, whether it would be good or bad. Most of the time, it shows the point of view of men.
One Piece has a fatherly vibe in me. I'm reffering to a good but tough father.
I am finishing the Water 7 arc and about to watch Enies Lobby. I started out rewatching the DBF and just continued on.
I don't understand how people can watch subbed anime. I think it's boring and ruins the show. Just my opinionā¦

how the hell did you come to that conclusion?

No it isn't. I watch many things subbed and I enjoy them. And it's good for those who want to learn a little English.

The voice acting in Japanese is MUCH better than in English. That's just my opinion though.
I think the voices in Japanese are better. I also like that the Japanese is a little more accurate. They toss in certain jokes in the Dub.
Opinions guys.
I personally get distracted by especially wordy subtitles. That's why I almost exclusively watch the dub (except for the newer episodes).
And uh guysā¦ the English dub is just as accurate as the Japanese. =\
Sooooooooooo Goooooooooooooooooooooooood!!

Not completely true. I have recently been watching Funimation's take on the Skypiea arc and they removed most of Zoro's offhand comments about God. At the point in the arc were Robin states that she may have found her reason to continue living funimation waters it down to something about her resuming her search or something (cant remember what was specifically said). The lack of Enel's unique laugh also makes me a sad panda.
If you watch the show with VLC and turn on the dubbed soundtrack with the english subtitles for the japanese audio it is easy to compare the differences. Funimation does a great job usually but some changes they make really irk me at times.
I think this was also a change, i need to check later. But when Usopp, Sanji, and Luffy were first entering the forest, Usopp started freaking out. He then said something like,
"We have zone chances, I mean Zoro chances, I mean Zolo chances, wait I mean zero."
I don't recall the Zolo chances being in the sub.

Something you're working very hard for people to blatantly disregard .
I think Funimations dub is very well done. Some of the differences I notice probably stem more from remembering inaccurate fan-sub translations than any major changes on Funimations part. Still trying to convince some japanese only watchers to give it a try.
this thread always makes me think of a bunch of child molesters that always get together, pat each other on the back, and say, "isn't child molesting swell?"
