Is it wrong that I found that Kerploosh was the most interesting announcement?
Its honestly the second game that makes me want to buy a 3DS.

Definetly one of the games that impressed me most but what really got me excited was Animal Crossing, I saw the 45mins developer video and the game just looks amazing, the last one I played was WW this one looks like it has so many more new stuff to do and new modes, I seriously didn't even notice the 45minutes passsing while I was watching the video.
Was it you asking for Project X Zone?

Wasn't this more focused on being a first party one? The third party one is next week. Worry then if it's not announced. http://mynintendonews.com/2013/02/14/third-party-3ds-nintendo-direct-set-for-next-week/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
Huh, you're right. Here's hoping. But are we getting another Nintendo Direct in North America then, too? I'd only heard about one for Japan. Plus, like Darkstorm said, Nintendo themselves have been handling publishing the Dragon Quest titles lately. But I guess it's still actually produced by Square-Enix, so… who knows. Fingers crossed.

3DS owners…
Puzzle Swap just started giving out the first pieces to the Fire Emblem: Awakening puzzle today.. or it might have been released on the store date and i just discovered it too late lol -
Love how I get a 3DS at Christmas and then I see the releases for 2013 and they keep getting more epic… Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Pokemon X/Y, holy shitnipples <3
What next? A decent One Piece
3DS game that isn't mugen style? :ninja: -

Aonuma:The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons/Oracle of Ages will be released for Virtual Console on Nintendo 3DS in Japan, but it'll be a little while longer till they're out in other territories. We'd like to ask for your patience until they're ready for release. Thank You! Cool news, won't have to break out my gbc/gba to play them anymore. Hope "little while" isn't too long.
-
F-Zero is up for 30p for those who want it. Also Monster Hunter Tri Demo is out too.
-
SO what was shown today? anything worth mentioning?
I just see above was posted that Oracle and seasons games are coming out.
Wasn't the direct supposed to be 3rd party related? ANy big news there. Gaming sites I'm checking are just 100% ps4 rigth now.
-
Oracle news came through miiverse. direct is japan only and hasn't happened yet.

Huh, I thought it was supposed to be this morning at like 5 am central time.
Or was it for friday and I'm a day off?
-
It did come through the direct in Japan already
-
There was some Monster Hunter 4 stuff and Shin Megami IV stuff too. (400 creatures)
-
Yeah it aired at 11/12 AM for Europeans but yeah its japanese only, I liked Shin Megami Tensei, MH4, Super Robot Taisen UX(which I doubt its coming here) and Yokai Watch a lot.
-
looks like another puzzle arrived..for the new Brain age game…
I never even completed any of the puzzles.. -
geez. I aint got Fire Emblem or Brain Age puzzles. I guess they're region locking these too.
Not that it matters. I never get any hits from town anyways. Somehow today I managed to get a hit on NSMB2 but not on Miiverse. How does that happen XD

well considering japan have an animal crossing puzzle and we have a return to dreamland one it seems there being released as the game does. I'm all for a new one. I need 1 purple piece on return to dreamland and that's it :D
-
Where I am it's a challenge finding anyone with a 3DS, let alone someone who has new puzzle pieces for me to take.
What I did wonder from the return to dreamland puzzle was when will we get the inevitable Kirby 3DS game (possibly a redo of the Wii one, a la DKCR)

I forgot that existed.

Help my 3DS is getting so much use
It's like a 100% fliparound from last year
first i hated a lack of games and now i lament the large number of games i have to juggle
-
Capcom is launching a game with free DLC. Does that sentence even exist in the world? Guess it does now.
They're also gonna patch in so you can play Monster Hunter with people around the world instead of your own country. ANd also Off-Screen play. All very nice but kinda feels like shoulda been there anyways
-
I'm not bothered about Capcom anymore - you should only buy their games used.
Their work schedules and whatnot are absolutely atrocious and they've scared away so many brilliant people, even the creator of MegaMan!
Boycotting is the way to go = ^ = -
I think the only active franchise of Capcom's that I care about now is Ace Attorney. Luckily we know that game's coming over. Speaking of, I recently rediscovered my cartridge of the original Megaman Battle Network. That game looks, plays, and sounds like every one of its twelve years, but the nostalgia, man, the nostalgia.
Fuck Sharkman, though.
-
We get Saiban 5, we're getting Layton vs Saiban, but we're shit of luck with Kenji 2 well at least until Chris Svensson tells us otherwise. @zachri:

Nah .

Devil Survivor 2 : Break Code was announced for the 3DS at a pre screening for the anime according to gaf. Seems to be an update like overclock was for DS1
My copy of DS2 is still mouldering in my shelf as I wait for overclock to be released in europe. Guess it'll never come out of its shrinkwrap now
Nah .
I've been boycotting capcom for years now
don't really feel as if anything of value was missed.
-
Since Atlus has me by the balls I'm definitely going to end up double-dipping on that. Not that I particularly mind, since Overclocked was a big improvement over the original game.
-
i'm very tempted as well. The only problem is that i just finished persona 4 like literally now. I'm watching the credits while i type this , and i don't think i want to play a ridiculously long rpg for a while now

Don't worry you wouldn't see it until winter or more likely until next year anyway if you're in the us, if you're eu it's probably going to be another 1 1/2 to 2 years.
Also http://www.siliconera.com/2013/03/02/bravely-default-twitter-hints-at-localization/
This is pretty great, I'm probably getting a 3ds now when smt 4 hits, not sure yet how I'm going to do it, but definitely a us or jp one. -
I don't think it'll take that long. Overclocked's release window was the same and the English version came out at the end of August and a week before the Japanese version, to boot.

Oh you're right, well so anyone in the us probably should get ready to schedule for the game.
As for europe I remain right for that. cougharenacough -
i have a question. Is eternal darkness a 2nd or 3rd party game? Like, what are the chances of it appearing in smash in some way and, if silicon knights were still active, what was the chances of it being on another platform?

Silicon Knights owns the IP rights, so they could have put it on any console they (or the publisher) wanted.

EA wants the WiiU to be an Origin Box?
Nintendo doesn't let the WiiU become an Origin Box?
EA throws hissy-fit and cancels ports?
-
It makes sense. Although no doubt the poor sales of Mass Effect 3 Wii U and Fifa 12 didn't help. I'm glad that I'm been pretty much been boycotting EA the past few years. I want Sim City but the always online crap just puts me off.
-
The last game I bought with EA on the box was Cel Damage for the gamecube.
now, I certainly haven't been boycotting them for like an entire decade, but I guess it just shows how little my tastes match up with what EA publishes.
So I don't give a hoot if they don't put their stupid games on the wiiu, is what I'm saying.

So I got a 3DS for Fire Emblem Awakening and was wondering if there are any other games people would recommend me to get? (For DS as well as 3DS)
I'd probably prefer to play RPGs on 3DS. Already got Dragon Quest 9, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, and Chrono Trigger. -

I'd probably prefer to play RPGs on 3DS. Already got Dragon Quest 9, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, and Chrono Trigger.A dragon quest 7 remake(3ds) is coming soonish, keep your ears out of any announcements of bravely default(3ds) coming over. Also Shin Megami Tensei 4(3ds) which might even come this year to the us (not a 100% sure).
I heard that SMT: devil summoner overclocked(3ds) has options to make it less gruelling for novices to play through which makes it easier to recommend it for the good story. If difficulty isn't a problem SMT: Strange journey(ds) is also good. SMT: Soul Hackers I don't know about but I feel like smt is always a save choice.
If you're really hardcore into grinding etrien odyssey 4(3ds) might be something you might be interested in.
Tales of the Abyss is quite neat but in my opinion not quite the rpg priority. And I feel like if I don't mention pokemon as a major rpg I might get some evil looks.
If the most favourite part of rpg's are stories you might want to try 999(ds) and it's sequel zero escape: VLR(3ds) (they're visual novels with some puzzle gameplay but yeah rather focused on just telling a story).
-
For Ds you also have dragon quests 4, 5 and 6, final fantasy 3 and 4, suikoden tierkreis, mario and luigi 2: partners in time.
Also Golden sun: Dark Dawn, although for that one it's a must to play the two gba golden suns. -
Radiant Historia is a must imo if you want RPGs. And if you aint got them along the way Final Fantasy 3/4 and Chrono Trigger. Dragon Quert 4,5, 6 and 9 is well worth a look. I enjoyed Suikoden Tierkries enough too.
Other non RPGs I recommend are the Layton Series. Ace Attorney Series (Including the Edgeworth one.) Ghost Trick and Elite Beat Agents/Ouendan.
And since this is a One Piece forum. One Piece Gigant Battle 2 and Jump Ultimate Superstars are both worth importing. You can try Gigant Battle 1 if you don't care about playing as Robin, Franky or Brook too.
-
I feel it necessary to mention that if you have a 3DS you should, at the least, play through Kid Icarus Uprising. I would say along with Fire Emblem it's a killer app for the system and a must-have.

seems like EA is butthurt nintendo didn't let them do their online or whatever..
the wii u needs more games tbh.. their launch wasn't that bad compared to other console launches, however, it is losing steam.. still though, i am sure they will be fine..
E3 should be dope…
-
I'm sure EA will come crawling back once they realise the sales they're missing from Fifa/Madden ports etc.
I think Wii U's problem wasn't the launch. It had a decent launch imo compared to some others. The problem is that it's like 4 month down the line and there's been what since? Ninja Gaiden, Ken's Rage and a few e-shop games. Hardly anything worth talking about. (America even got Ninja on launch anyways.)
I think it's kinda hard to judge a Nintendo console until we've seen the bigger names on it. Mario has been on, but I consider the 3D Mario to be the big games. Zelda, Metroid and Mario Kart.
Dragon Quest X is out in a few weeks in Japan. Which should shift a few units. It was already done on the Wii but I wonder how many people actually were waiting for it on a next gen platform.

Agreed, hence i said it is losing steam.. There is really nothing out worth getting, aside from maybe the undercover lego game. Same here, as much as i love the super mario bros games, they aren't really too different as of late, and imo 3D mario is where he really shines.
Nintendo does need to show more first party since that is what fans look for the most, and i am sure we will see that in e3 since the new mario and mario kart will be playable i believe, but i am glad there is more 3rd party…
-
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Radiant Historia I've heard was good, so I'll most likely check that one out; Kid Icarus was something I was looking into as well. Thanks for reminding me about Jump Ultimate Stars as well. I played that before on a friend's DS and loved it. Will look into all the other suggestions too. Would Kirby Mass Attack still be fun for someone college-aged? I still enjoy Return to Dreamland for the wii anyways, though Epic Yarn seemed a little more on the kiddish side.

It's brilliant.
It has an very mature and intelligent protagonist,
great liberties when it comes to the script,
orgasmic music,
and an interesting take to turned based battles(it takes that idea where you can see the enemy's turns like FFX, but gives you the option to manipulate it for combos). It's one of the better RPGs I played.
