European Zelda boxart revealed. Looks awesome! (Although I kinda liked the old basic ones they used to do.)

Awful looking boxart.
Should really have stuck with the classic style

I don't know about you guys but these two screens alone shows me how other places are going to look. Plus the fact I haven't played MQ really makes me want to get it.

Now if only Nintendo would announce a light temple or Ice temple, then I can truly be happy.
Well, certain landmarks certainly have gotten a nice treatment. However, it all still looks really awkward to me. The flowers in that first picture look really weird.
Anyway, I have to say I wasn't thinking too much about TP's graphics through the screenshots beyond the improvements on Link, either. Sometimes these games look way better in motion, I really hope this is one of them.
I mean, this is the only 3DS game I have any interest in that has a release date at the moment. D:
-
By the way guys, we might not have to wait so long for Super mario3DS as Miyamoto has said that he will try his best to release it this year by all means. So if we do get Super Mario3DS this year, we're getting three mario games this year. Paper Mario, Mario kart and Super mario.

Has it been confirmed that Mario Kart and Paper Mario are coming out this year?

Has it been confirmed that Mario Kart and Paper Mario are coming out this year?
Sadly, no. But I would expect we'll hear at E3. I would hope that at least one of them comes out, to give us something for the fall. Because OoT, Kid Icarus, and SF64 are going to own my summer, and I'll need more than just Super Mario 3D to fill up my fall and winter. Of course, there's still a few Wii games to look forward to, but…
-
Lol Wii 2 is being codenamed 'Project Café'

I forget which but a guy a Gamestop told me one of those games comes out in August though I would take that with a grain salt.

Sounds pretty good.

I know it's IGN and all but they're reporting some new details on Nintendo's next system such as a possible name(Stream) and a price range($350-$400). Here's the article:

$350 to $400?
Yikes, that's kind of steep. This will have to be an impressive system with great games (It other words, no crappy sequels like Animal Crossing City Folk) to make me want to pay that much immediately.
Still I'm excited to hear about this console. The Wii was getting very stale…

A huge grain of salt, I say. Nintendo has all of these great games announced, they can't just send them all out in the first year.

I REALLY hope the release date rumors are untrue. A release date as early as October makes the chances of Skyward Sword being delayed for the Wii 2 even greater. And I am not dishing out $350 bucks for another system .

If they want the 3DS sales to pick back up they better.

However, Skyward Sword relies heavily on the Wii Remote and Wii Remote Plus. I don't see how it could be delayed to this new console. Sure it's supposed to have backward compatibility, but that's not how it functions normally so I say there's no way it will be delayed to that console. If it were (which I don't even see how that would work) it would probably end up like Twilight Princess being released for both consoles.

Well, I just don't think it would be good for us. Having nearly all of the main franchises getting their sequels on the console this fast just doesn't seem right. The Nintendo DS lasted 6-7 years. I don't want to imagine this console lasting that long when they sent out nearly all of the great titles within the first half-year.
However, a good number of them are ports/remakes so there's that.

That's a good point, though the Wii 2 is suppose to retain motion control and I don't think the controller design has been confirmed. Also, just like you could use the Game Cubes Wavebird controller for the Wii, you may be able to use the Wii mote controller for the Wii 2. I am probably just being unnecessarily worried, but I just really want to play that game and I would be crushed if I had to buy a new console just to play it. I should stop reading game rumor sites and just wait for E3. If there is no news from E3, then I think my worries will be justified.

If the controller turns out to be another Wii Remote than you could start being worried, but if it isn't then there is no reason to worry. And I actually believe that these rumors have credibility behind them.
Did any Wii games actually require you to use the Wavebird controller to play them? It just doesn't add up. The option was there, which was a very good thing because I didn't want to play games like Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl with the Wii Remote. However, I wouldn't think that they'd release a game and say "By the way, you have to use last generations Wii Remote to be able to play this.".

Well, if we know what the new system and controller look like and Skyward Sword still isn't out, I will be worried either way. I see what you are saying though.

May 31st is getting here at the pace of a black snail filled with fried chicken and collard greens. I want my DOAD and Punch time explosion!

Tried out a 3DS for the first time today. Much to my surprise despite only having one good eye I CAN see the 3D effect unlike film and picture 3D. But only if I focused in a single spot, if I moved my head ever so slightly I would see a ghosting effect. That's with this thing fixed to a display, I can't imagine with it in my hands moving… it gave me a headache as is. I've been wanting a DS for a long time, guess I might as well save up and get a 3DS. Anything more come out of how the 3DS plays DS games? Good, or only "okay"?
The demo was Super Street Fighter 4: 3D Edition, and as a result was the first Street Fighter I played… well, if you wanna call what I was doing "playing". XD Naturally I chose Juri, so this "gamer" continues life being able to say he's never pulled a Hadoukan.

I've tried Pokemon, Radiant Historia and Ghost Trick on mine and it seems to play them fine. Some people complained about things being stretched but I didn't notice it. As far as I'm concerned its exactly the same.
-
You can hold down select when you start the DS game to stop the screen scaling.
I need to dig out my copy of SM64DS, I suspect the analogue pad will make it playable again. It's useless on the DSL & DSI since they don't have the thumbstrap from the original DS.

interesting that you could see it at all! But if it gives you such a hassle, look like you'll be playing with the 3D off…
and NO, nothing good has come out. DoA on May 24th, Blazblue on the 31st, and then more good things in June. If you still haven't got one, no real need to hurry out until late Spring.

Samurai Warriors, Ghost Recon and Pilotwings are all brilliant launch games however.

A few more details on the 3DS and other games.
According to Miyamoto, Super mario3DS will be fully unveiled at E3, so most likely, we'll get more than just being a few screenshots. Along with Miyamoto saying that Super Mario3DS having elements from Super Mario64 and Galaxy, he also said it will have elements New Super Mario Bros but we already knew that from one screenshot. Also a quote.
"Super Mario 3D will include a fixed camera system, slightly like the one you saw in Super Mario 64, in which the camera does not move and Mario walks around on the screen. This time you will really feel the depth. Shigeru Miyamoto explains that this method brings dynamism to the staging of the game. This game mechanic certainly will impress and entertain the players says Miyamoto.
There's also seems be a Magazine that is showing a new pokemon game of sorts. I don't know if it's true or not or whether this is for the 3DS or not but it's supposed to be unveiled next month in the next issue. Here's the screenshot.

I can't read Japanese, but the Japanese text next to the screen shot of the Pokemon game looks like it says Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. Also, the screen shot doesn't look like anything new or innovative. Maybe it is a rerelease of Pokemon Black and White optimized for the 3DS, but I don't think we will get a "new" Pokemon game for the 3DS for a while.

Yeah like I said, doesn't really look new unless it's the supposed Pokemon Gray but we'll have to wait till the next issue next month to see if this is just a fraud or not.
-
It doesn't seem to say whether its for the DS, 3DS or Wii. We know there are pokemon games for the Wii and 3DS in development.
My money is on the Pokemon Stadium/Battle Revolution tie-in for the new gen on the Wii.
-
It is for 3DS according to serebii but that picture is just a BW picture not of the new game, anyway next month we should know more about it.

Well according to Iwata, there's pokemon games in the work for both the Wii and the 3DS.

Caution when you do this it scales the image down to be about 2/3s of the screen. I personally can't stand this, maybe it won't bother you.
-
It's preferable on sprite games like Pokemon.
Also, I tried SM64DS out, still not that great even with the thumbstick. Nintendo's idiotic decision to default to walk pretty much killed the game unless you use the thumbstrap on the original ds.

actully i would think being on a display would suck more. i tried out the 3ds at best buy and it just sucked. was horrile experience. had to bend over ackwardly, keep my head still in one place and you name it.
having it in your hands is a biillion times easier. its like being in church and singing from a book someone else is holding. any slight movement at all and you can lose the ability to read, but if YOUR the one holding it, you could be jogging and still read. Your brain knows the slight adjustments your body is making and knows to sense them, move your head, eyes, ect accordingly. Same with the 3ds, if you are holding it yourself, it will be more steady than anything else.

Yeah, I've played Pokemon Diamond on a friend's 3DS and it really scales it down. I hope that it's possible to fix this in the future.
It's either blurry or too small. Oh well, doesn't matter to me one bit since I have a broken DS and I was just happy to actually see the top screen of my Pokemon Diamond again. lol
-
Eh… the scaled down or the blurriness doesn't bother me that much but I prefer playing it scaled down.
-

I had a Ds specifically to play jump ultimate stars. It's scaled down so small it's like a friggin chibi version of the game. I just grit my teeth and play with the stretched version.
-
Ordered a 3DS yesterday, couldn't wait for the price dropping lol.
Also ordered SFIV3D along with the 3DS.Any other games out worth BUYING?
-
Shadow Wars and Samurai Warriors Chronicles, if you like Warriors games obviously, some people don't like them, this one has more of an RPG component though.
This is obviously just my taste though, other people will recomend you other stuff but you don't have much to choose right now.
-
Not currently any really worth buying other than Samurai Warriors but I've heard Pilotwings was fun.
-
yeah. As I said before Samurai Warriors and Ghost Recon are my faves. Pilotwings is decent too.
Don't forget about Radiant Historia and Okamiden. Both of these were so close to the 3DS release they kinda got overlooked.
-
Have you niggas heard?
Project Cafe won't have friend codes.
I think we know Nintendo aren't that stupid and know how to learn their lessons…
http://mynintendonews.com/2011/04/24/nintendo-wii-2-no-friend-codes-for-nintendo-wii-2-project-cafe/ -
Well it's about damn time. Friend codes were/are some of the most stupid things ever.
Thanks for the link Sarus.
-
They weren't so bad on the 3DS since it's just one and thats it. But glad to be rid of them.
-
Urgh but doesn't PS3/PSP and Xbox have some kind of code too?
Anyway a new game trailer, looks like one of those games that won't leave Japan, not interested at all in it, from Capcom
Another Megaman trailer.
-
A username…?
-
A username…?
Oh ok, don't have one so I didn't know, obviously I could have googled it before posting but I was lazy, I don't see much of a diference even though it is annoying to write the 9 numbers everytime you want to add someone and the username is a lot easier, to remember and to add.
It will make the process easier, I do find it weird that they just basicly upgraded it with the 3DS, wich was just released and now want to get rid of the system.
-
That first game looks like a Wario Ware type game only involving poking Naked Women.
Was it posted here about Capcom saying they won't release the new Megaman game on the 3DS if they don't get enough people to download the Prologue thing for it?
-
Yeah ppl posted it on the Megamen thread.

http://mynintendonews.com/2011/04/24/nintendo-wii-2-no-friend-codes-for-nintendo-wii-2-project-cafe/This console can't be real! o_o
The Friend Code system has always sucked, although it's better on the 3DS. I can't believe they're finally getting rid of them! ^_^

random question:
just wanted to play Smash Bros but the Wii can't read the disc. It can read other discs just fine and the SSBB one isn't damaged … not a tiny scratch. Any ideas what's wrong? Someone had the same problem maybe? -
random question:
just wanted to play Smash Bros but the Wii can't read the disc. It can read other discs just fine and the SSBB one isn't damaged … not a tiny scratch. Any ideas what's wrong? Someone had the same problem maybe? There were actually a few problems like that back when the game launched. Basically because SSBB is on a dual-layered disc, reading it takes a bit longer and puts a heavier toll on the console, so it could be minute bits of dust that somehow worked its way in there making reading the SSBB disc hard.
You can either try to clean out the disc slot yourself or check the Nintendo Website, because a special service specific to the Smash Bros. problem….supposedly.
(thats a lot of s's)
