You just need to have it marked as previously purchased in your Wii U's Wii Mode. It doesn't matter if it's downloaded, but it has to be in Wii Mode; Your Wii U won't see anything from your Wii before you transfer.
So you're saying there's no way for the Wii U to know I have it without a transfer? Or would just accessing the store in Wii mode do it?

It's down and the new Amiibos were never up. Even their in-store system crashed and apparently is now working veeeeeery sloooooowly. My hopes of getting anything ordered (I want Ness) are super low. I'm accepting at this point that I'll be buying him for $30+ on Amazon.

Ness is gonna be VERY hard to get, not just because of the exclusivity. He's a popular character with very little merchandise to begin with!

Hmm…on one hand, it's multiple preorders that made getting the likes of Rosalina, Ike, Meta Knight, Shulk....pretty much impossible.
On the other hand, this is Gamestop, and they almost screwed you over getting Smash Wii U right? Can't be too cautious. I myself always show receipts and ask clearly what the release dates are to avoid problems.

FYI: According to the people in store, Gamestop has different allocated stock for In-Store Orders Vs. Online Orders.
This means when they go on preorder on the actual website, they may have more stock of everyone.

I managed to get the six-pack at GameStop when it became obvious the servers were down and getting just Robin, Lucina, and Ness would be far more work than scanning the single SKU 6-pack.

Well I finally got to watch the direct. The new Fire Emblem looks really cool I love the eastern style of all the characters and weapons. Also finally there's feet! But if you really need to buy DLC to get the other half of the game then fuck them! The SMTxFire Emblem looks hilarious, they couldn't get their hands on Persona so they made their own. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of it though. Splatoon really reminds me of a game a played a lot as a kid called Animaniacs splatball, except Splatoon actually looks like it will be good. The rest was all just amiibo shit that my eyes just glazed over.

In the uk i can't find anything about the new amiibos. I remember when the last wave appeared but no where had it for pre-order. And then when wave 3 came out no where was selling it either. I'm going to japan this year and my brother is there when lucian and ness come out so might ask him to get me them. Anyone know how much amiibos are in yen?

My best friend got me "Story of seasons" as an early birthday gift and I'm totally in love with it. IMO, it's much more of a Harvest Moon than "Lost Valley" will ever be… Which actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it, with the problems between Marvelous and Natsume... Anyways... If you are a fan of Harverst Moon, especially "New beggining", "Story of seasons" is a must-get even if it doesn't have "Harvest Moon" in the title.

Persona Q may have Etrian Odyssey's gameplay mechanics but I believe it would still count as a Persona game on a Nintendo made device.
I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

Ive seen this said a bit, but where have they said that though? At most ive only seen people take the NOA's facebook update saying vote for your favorite "nintendo character" as a definitive answer or something. If they didnt want people to flood them with everything else they could have stated that much on the website or anywhere explicitly so they could stop an influx of characters they were never going to consider (not that it would stop them all, but it could curve expectations)

Maybe i jumped the gun a little bit. I saw it being said around smash boards and twitter but now that i look i can't even find the facebook update you are talking about. Never mind (although tbh i imagine will only be nintendo characters unless a third party offers).

Yeah. It's just really striking how we haven't seen any devil summoning. At least it kinda looks like they're iterating the fire emblem characters in but the semblance to smt is kinda not there?
