CP9 and the "Revolutionary Army Leader Assassination Plot"

So I was checking stephenÂ´s scriptÂ´s on the most recent chapters 375 and 376 and something interesting catched my eye in the translation for chapter 375.

In page 15, Spandam calls FukuroÂ´s, JaburaÂ´s and KumadoriÂ´s mission the "Revolutionary Army Leader Assassination Plot". IÂ´ve found that very interesting.

To be honest, IÂ´m not a friend of speculations where people try to create connections just because of similiarities like for instance "Smoker and Paulie must be related" etc.
But just this time I canÂ´t help it but talking about something similar myself. To let it out…Does this assasination plot have something to do with DragonÂ´s revolution?

Let me explain why I get this impression. We know that the World Government considers the revolutionist Dragon as a big thorne in their eye. And CP9 isnÂ´t the agency that the WG sends for easy tasks, the mission Lucci and the otherÂ´s have been working on for five years are proof enough for that.

Further proof that CP9 isnÂ´t sent to small fish is the Alabasta arc. If you see it like that, Kohza was also a revolutionist in some kind. He was the leader of a rebel army that aimed to stop the King Nefertari Cobra (a King who sits in the World Government).
However the WG didnÂ´t even consider Kohza as important enough to send anybody to stop him take down Cobra.

However since the WG sent three CP9 guys out to take down some leaders it appears that this revolutionary army must be a big thorn in the eye of the WG. IÂ´m not saying that CP9 messed with Dragon directly, but it could be that these revolutionists are either a part of him or at least somehow linked to DragonÂ´s revolution. I mean itÂ´s just an idea, but anyways I doubt that in the One Piece world thereÂ´s hundreds of revolutionist armyÂ´s running around who are all a serious threat to the WG.
I can accept that thereÂ´s plenty of armyÂ´s like the rebellion lead by Kohza, but I have serious doubts that thereÂ´s that many out there that are so dangerous to send CP9.

Just an idea and a little food for thought.

that's very true, especially after smoker said "where have you been? the government has been looking for you, they're waiting for an answer!" it's possible that dragon was once a part of the WG, but he revolted, maybe because he didn't agree to take over the ancient weapon and use it to end piracy age, and hence the revolution.

WG, knowing dragon and how dangerous he is, then sends CP9 to eliminate him. that makes sense.

That whole thing was merely a one-time gimmick Oda used to show the individual quirkiness of the latest CP9 members. If it even holds the slightest link to anything slightly bigger than that, I'd be highly surprised.

Just a "minor" correction. It is Dragon who says "The World is waiting for our answer". While Smoker says "The Government wants your head".

i find it possible, i was also intrigued when i read that. but since it was throwed in such vague way that i rather not worry much… but it is intriguing. Oda is evil. He could just put "You messed up the last assignement" but no! he had to make us wonder what was the leader they assassinated.

now i'm sure it was not Dragon, first because apparently the mission was a partial success (they killed too many people) and also because i hope to have Dragon playing a major role later on.

DidnÂ´t even notice that. If Oda by any chance should have really put that play with words into consideration then I officially proclaim him to a new level of creativity.

Besides I wonder how it would be written down in the original version now.

Could ya refresh my mind when did Smoker talk to Dragon ? It was in Logue Town right ? I don't rember that part where Smoker said the Dragon is being chased by thw WG. (Btw. I'm new to the formus nice to meet ya all).

Yes it was in LogueTown. Smoker spoke to Dragon while he hindered him to get Luffy. And later on Smoker even asked Dragon why he was helping Luffy. Click here to read the script of the chapter.

Yeah, Ivotas, this sounds pretty interesting. And if so is the case, I'm sure we will see more of it after this arc. Damn, One Piece is only getting deeper and better. Rock on Oda I say!

But of course, Dragon isn't going to take out the W.G directly. I think he's using the Strawhats to complete his goals. He might be watching them from a distance and if they happen to move off track of his plans, he might throw them something (like a clue or something) to get them back on course (indirectly).

And he might be another suvivor from the Ohara problem a long time ago, that would make sense if can read the Polygraphs.

Precicely what I meant. Kohza isnÂ´t a serious threat to the WG, so thereÂ´s no need to send anyone. But the revolutionists mentioned in chapter 375 seem to be a serious threat or you wouldnÂ´t send CP9 to take them down wouldnÂ´t you? WeÂ´ve leant in this very arc that CP9 is unlike the other eight Cipher PolÂ´s and that they seem to be superior, so I guess that they are only involved with big problems. Get my point?

Maybe CP9 got sent to Villa, or perhaps there's another revolt going on somewhere else?

Dragon might haven been a close friend of Gol D. Roger and knower of the "True History" maybe it a plan that started with Gol D. Roger to give people the freedom to dream and achieve they're goals

There still the something left to uncover, who did the Gorousei become the World Leaders maybe that would explain all

I said it earlier in this thread but IÂ´ll repeat it again. Smoker just says the "The Government wants your head" part.

It is Dragon who says "The world is waiting for our answer". And personally I think he is talking to Luffy because it appears that Luffy has to remain sailing in order that the world will get this "answer".

I personally don't think it has too great importance, but I still like your theory. However, I don't recall Oda building on remarks like that before- Objecst and characters yes, but not really remarks like that…

Anyway, This all reminds me of an SBS in vol 25 where Oda talks about the city of Vila - a city which Nami says is plauged by coups, and which Norland went from, when it was peaceful - where he said that the rebellious city was irrelevant "compared to what it shows about the state of the world, as will be revealed as the story progresses"
In light of recent events, I found this last bit Very interesting.
