I wasn't sure what was a good title, but whatever. This is a thread to talk about arcade games you played recently from the Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and the Virtual Console. Be it full game or demo.
Sure, not the best games around but sometimes lesser-budget titles have a charm that's either great for the low price or nostalgic. This is also an opportunity to spread the word about some lesser known gems you may have came across.
Well if you include downloadable titles from the respective services, then I was having a lot of fun with Super Meat Boy right before my XBox died. Its a good game and a pretty challenging one too.
I played Super Meat Boy from the demo. The Dark Worlds are just murdersome and insanely brutal(same thing, but I want to exaggerate). At the same time, it was insanely fun. I never had that much fun in a platformer for a long time. I'm looking forward to the Wiiware version.

I bought Scott Pilgrim (the game) today, it's on sale on the 360 right now. 400 points, instead of 800 points. Good deal. Played it. It's pretty fun. Definately need some friends to come over and play it with me.
Other than that, I am HORRIBLY addicted to Castlevania: Harmony of Despair right now. I've mastered Charlotte, intermediate with Shanoa, and pretty good with Soma and Jonathan. I cannot wait for the extra character DLC which will have Julius, Maria, and Yoko.
Limbo's pretty good.
XBLA exclusive, tho
The Xbox Live Arcade is by far the best part of the console. The only thing I found myself missing when I just started using my PS3 exclusively, although PSN does have its share of quality (usually multi-platform anyways) titles.
But god, the XLA was just glorious.
I've probably spent more time in downloadable titles than on retail games, but that's because I always buy anything worthwhile the instant it's out.

Super Meat Boy is ruling my life and I'm gonna miss it waiting for my console to be repaired.
Costume Quest was cute, Double Fine always does good work. Though I'm glad they ended it where they did because the mechanics were old by the end.
Really enjoyed Dead Rising Case Zero, probably gonna wait until I can get DR2 for cheap but I have to say the idea is a GOLDMINE. Pre-LC they call it? Make a unique area that's good for 5-10 hours of gameplay in the style of the retail release (not Fable pub games bullshit) and add a carryover bonus when the full game comes out. Really really savvy and I hope this catches on because it would seriously convince me to get so many more games.
Kind of tempted by Pinball FX 2 just because I haven't played a pinball game seriously since like, Epic Pinball Android table. Please tell me someone knows what I'm talking about.
Really wish PSN would update their browsing model to be more like the XBLA's interface. I hate the way they do it now. At least they've started offering trial versions of arcade games though.
Pinbal FX was a good game and it was made by the developers of Zen Pinball, which was an even better game, so I have faith that FX 2 should be just as good as Zen Pinball. It can't be too hard for the same developer to make a pinball title be very different than another one they made. So I highly recommend it. They really know what their doing and I've actually spent money (cheaply priced) on extra Zen Pinball tables. They're all really well developed and unique in their own rights.
Zen Pinball is probably the PSN downloadable title I've spent the most of my time on. It's basically the best traditional pinball title I've ever played.

World of Goo (WiiWare) is pretty awesome. Totally worth it and has a charming design.
been playing through the new Yugioh XBLA game recently. God damn this game has changed some in the years its been since I played.
Still pretty cool though.

God damn King of Fighters, mofos! 2K2 Unlimited Match, especially. SNK's swan song to the old sprites, with the largest roster in series history, the best soundtrack in a series known for its killer soundtracks (Igniz's boss theme alone sounds like something you'd hear from Final Fantasy in its heyday), and an incredibly balanced roster. Seriously, if you remove the bosses from the equasion, the balance in that game is as perfect as a game with 60+ characters can possibly be. Shit, even the boss intro cinematics are fucking cool as all hell.
2-D fighting bliss…! And it's only 4 god damn dollars! God bless you, XBLA!

A good game that I've downloaded for the wii is Jett Rocket. Really awesome game, if you enjoyed Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2, you'll most likely enjoy Jett rocket and the company may be planning to make a squeal. I agree with this guy. World of Goo is a great game if you like puzzles and I think it cost 1500 wii point to download. I love how the game starts out as a kind of cute thing but begins to turn into a darker world.

Anyone being a fan of the Contra (/Probotector) series should check out Contra Rebirth on WiiWare. Pretty great stages (even though it's nowhere near Contra 4, regarding the amount of content).
Both Lostwinds are pretty good if you're into atmospheric, little adventures.
I didn't really like Contra Rebirth all that much. The level design was a bit lazy, and the whole story setting was weird as hell. Worst Contra game.

Another rebirth game I enjoyed was "Castlevania Rebirth". I loved the game to death and played it for awhile actually. Mind you as we all know in the castlevania series that the game gets hard as fuck and this one did not skip out of it.
I ran into a cool Indie Game a minute ago. It's called TEMPURA of the DEAD. It has this retro style to it. Similar to Cave Story almost. The art resembles Lupin III as well. You play as a samuria, and a president with a gun(who looks like a cross between Lupin and Barack Obama O_o)

Stacking: new arcade puzzle game from Tim Schafer/Double Fine based on Matryoshka dolls. Looks awesome!
Oh God, that looks awesome. That's one thing about Tim Schafer, he brings these crazy ideas no one else thinks of. While sometimes they fall flat (the whole Battle of the Bands RTS in Brutal Legend) you still admire him for the creativity. Hopefully this is as fun as it looks.
Just downloaded Portal and if I can't play it tonight, i'll try within the next two days.

Yes, this is why I love XBox, the arcade games are addictive. I bought Soul Calibur a few years ago, before that the last time I played it was when I had it on Dreamcast (my copy got stolen ;_; ) So I was so happy when I found it on XBL. Such an epic game, I still prefer it over the sequels.
I have a few of the puzzle games and a few fighting game demos:
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, dangerously addictive
Lumines, I love the music in this game.
Chime, I bought it because I love "tetris-like" games, plus the music is so enchanting you wind up playing it for hours.
Bubble Bobble Neo, my only complaint is that they don't have the original port on there, I liked it so much better. I just have the demo for now.
Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, still need to purchase the full game, its so fun!
Garou: Mark of the Wolves, another demo that I need to buy and of course another great port from the Dreamcast 
LIMBO is a lot of fun, but the full game is pricey. Going to wait and see if it goes down before I buy it.
Feeding Frenzy 1&2, both are really fun time-wasting games. And so pretty.

Game Box, its fun going back and playing a bunch of retro games in a customizable arcade setting. Only thing that sucks is you have to buy each game separate.
I'm sure I have others but can't think of all of them right now.

Hm.. I keep hearing speculation that Super Meat Boy is going to canceled for a Wiiware or even a Wii release. That would suck since I missed out on the 10 dollar deal for it.
Update on Stacking: there is a 30-minute video on Giant Bomb with commentary from Tim Schafer himself explaining the game, the design, concepts and so on. I have to admit that while I always thought the look and idea were great, I wasn't initially sure on the gameplay itself, but after watching this I'm definitely completely sold on the game. Can't wait for it!

I can't believe it was announced as a Wiiware exclusive too.
Comic Jumper is pretty awesome, it's similar to games like Gunstar Heroes and Contra(albiet a little easier), and its worth it to hear Chris Sabat's crude dialog.
Also are there any reccomendations for any other XBL games for either 600 or 800 points?

How did I miss this? I've been following Stacking pretty closely and let this slip under my radar. I'm ashamed.
Based on all the Best-Of-2010 talk going on around the net and remembering all the games I meant to try out but never did, I bought Limbo this week. You can't say it has great value (at least, judged by its peers) but man, I don't know that I've ever seen a game with such a completely realized aesthetic. Utterly captivating. The sound design alone is just stunning.
