I've just finished watching it yesterday, and I liked it from the start.

I rate it 8/10

Art/Animation
besides the awesome CG they used, everyting in the series is detailed, even the backgrounds used are full of color, unlike some anime series I would know.

Story/Plot
The plot is just awesome. No plotholes and hax characters, plus there is a humanistic side into it.

Originality
From the ship names to the places, Last Exile is full of fresh new ideas and is devoid of any doppleganging.

What are your opinions on this anime?

And didn't it come out like, 8 years ago? (Nothing wrong with a show being old, but it seems weird to bring it up as if it were new.)

A really good anime, if you remember that it was made by Gonzo of all studios.

It is one of the worst written series I have ever watched, outside of that it was pretty to look at and had some interesting concepts.

I think it's an alright show from the 8 episodes I've seen. It's not like I haven't seen steampunk before, but the setting is still creative in its own right. It's probably one of my least favorite series that Gonzo had come out with, down there with Romeo X Juliet. To me, nothing can beat Desert Punk or Solty Rei.

ja? i'm sorta 1d with action, but i liked "last exile". i thought it resembled "star wars" in a rebels-vs-empire kinda way. while i don't have good things to say about "star wars", i thought "last exile" was pretty decent. it was also my first bishi ever. it all went downhill from there - the bishies, i mean. good lord. wtf, bishies. really. WTF.
