Hopefully we'll have something interesting in the SBS this time.
Volume 61 Prediction Thread

Thx, redon, 4 the find!
And congrats to each and everyone who predicted that Luffy's, Nami's and Zoro's pose would be the same as in vol. 1.
So, if we go now by simple maths, it could mean that the whole one piece story will contain 120 (!) issues. If we go by the pattern.
Geographically we still aren't in the NW, but from the story we can assume that half 2 of the story already began with ch. 598-600.
That's ok anyway, because we didn't start the story at the beginning of the GL, but somewhere in the East Blue.
And from all the arcs we still have a few left:
Elbaf arc,
Rev Army arc,
Raftel arc,
Vila arc (I hope it still comes or is a part of Rev Army arc),
(new) Marine HQ arc (since they switched places after the war, its now in the NW)
and that have been only the arcs, which are obvious to come. -

the real volume 61 -
The new volume is out!!!

The reprint of volume 18 is probably caused by the fact that it's the volume Ace was first shown.

lol, just when there is a specific thread for it right there too.
-
Look like The next Volums cover will look like the old ones too but with New Nakamas added.
but dude there is a thread for the Volum Cover, try to post it there next. -
So awesome. Thx TS.
-
That's like the least important thing on that page. It's an arcade for a Japan only card game.
Of course it wasnt the most important thing. Just wanted to know what it was. And thank you for telling me.
-
There's already a thread for this, you dingus.
-
Looks like Robin will get shoved into the background as usual. Good god woman, let lose and do something different for once.
-
What's the "Vila arc" ?
Vila is an island that Vivi mentioned when she was reading the newspaper. Oda said in an SBS that we'll see Vila sometime in the story.
-
Oda should normallly know that we like to see Robin in the front.
-
The last time Robin was in the front of a cover was Vol. 44, where she gave us that nice ass shot.
-
And it`s still one of the best volumne covers..EVER!
-
you guys misunderstand; it's not that I want her in the foreground it's just that I'd like her to DO SOMETHING. Seriously, browse through the colour spreads and covers shes on, and she won't be dancing/fighting monster hippos/Playing sports/performing slapstick comedy/generally being in motion. She'll just be there somewhere, smiling the same relaxed smile for the 999th time, adhering to the Bleach school of "as long as the character is there and posing, it's good enough". It's just soooooo boring compared to the others.
The only exceptions I can think of is the Storytime spread, the vol 49 cover and that coverpage where she made a new leg for an injured fox.
-
You forgot about the colorspread where the Straw Hats are in suits and Robin's using her multiple arms to rip the paper wall.
!
Here's another one where Robin's doing something.!
-
@Daz
You know having guys in the crew who already jump at everything new is hard to overcome.
She is the patient, thinking one in the crew and acting out of character is also then weird.
Still i get where you come from and i would also like to see her doing something else than standing in the backround smiling or reading a book.
But thats just fits here character and i would say maybe interacting with someone of the crew which she now fully trusts in may be a good alternative for her in a coverspread or that. -
Compared to the rest of the guys Namis also a pretty "normal" individual with a much less zany personality and lacking any traits that make for easy inspiration (being a small reindeer/human thing, being a walking skeleton, being a hulking cyborg, being a pervert, easily startled etc.)
And yet Oda always has her doing something. Robin is just flat out uninspired most of the time. -
Nice :D Oda seems to really like to mark that this is the start of the second half. Like the colorspread of chapter 598 was a new replica of the chapter 1 spread, this cover seems to be a brand new version of the cover of volume 1. :D
-
You've got to love Oda's way of keeping this series together. Not a damn thing I don't love about this cover.
-
This is the first in a long time I'm exited to see the sales.
-
Holy shit, fucking want now.
-
So…. how many years until it's released by Viz?
-
So…. how many years until it's released by Viz?
2012 or 2013 probably. Hey, if it were FMA we'd probably be waiting until at least 2023.
-
@Zach:
2012 or 2013 probably. Hey, if it were FMA we'd probably be waiting until at least 2023.
Spanish FMA is at vol 26
I got already to 10!
-
Ugh, don't remind me about Fullmetal Alchemist. I didn't mind them slowing down when they were getting a bit too close to Japan, but there's no excuse for six-month waits when the series is over in Japan.
This volume of One Piece will probably come out middle-ish of 2012.
-
Seeing how Viz is doing the whole three volumes release a year thing, I don't see Volume 61 coming here until at least Fall 2012.
-
Yeah, it's gonna be a long wait until I get this :(
The page count for the volume is 208 so that should mean 9 chapters in the volume by the way(one of the chapters was longer than normal)
Did'nt see that mentioned in the thread :/ -
9 chapters is typically 187 pages, not 208. That should be more like 10.
-
I think it would have been cooler if volume 61 started with chapter 598.
It is a tribute to the first volume. Luffy, Zoro and Nami have the exact same pose.
-
Well, like I've said in the past… there's always the Kanzenbans...
See you in... how many years did I say again? Twenty?
Well, that was in 2010, so I guess I'll say nineteen...
-
I find another japanese blog with the picture (smaller than the other pic) and new info, maybe Aohige or Greg could help us with the text ^^
Im asked my husband to look it over, he says this is an announcement talking about various publications, and the dates they will be on sale, with OP covers as part of the celebration of over 200 mill sales…
-
9 chapters is typically 187 pages, not 208. That should be more like 10.
None of the volumes are 187 pages. That's not even possible, how could it be an odd number?
Maki is right here, it's 9 chapters.
-
10 chapter volumes are 200 pages. So if you think about it, chapter 598 was about 6-7 pages longer than a normal chapter. So 208 pages means 10 chapters.
-
Another pic I found in 2ch:
-
With Usopp and Zoro sitting shoulder to shoulder with each other, we'll finally see who is more muscular now hohohooohohoho :>
-
oohhh
Wow, the best OP cover ever -
Looks like the title really is Romance Dawn for the New World. You can see the word "Dawn" at the top of the volume.
-
I love throw back shots like this, its just so great to compare then and now.
-
10 chapter volumes are 200 pages.
No that's never happened. A couple were 208 pages, but that was before there were 8 pages of fanart, voice actor SBSs, ads for video games, and recaps at the end of volumes. The only way this volume is 10 chapters is if all of that's missing.
-
No, it´s possible.
- Chapter 595: 17 pages (19 if Shounen Jump poster appears in double page)
- Chapter 596: 19 pages
- Chapter 597: 19 pages
- Chapter 598: 24 pages
- Chapter 599: 19 pages
- Chapter 600: 19 pages
- Chapter 601: 19 pages
- Chapter 602: 17 pages
- Chapter 603: 17 pages
- Chapter 604: 19 pages
189 pages (191 with Shounen Jump poster in chapter 595) + SBS, Usopp Gallery… 10 chapters, no problem.
-
Aren't the voice actor SBSs over?
-
None of the volumes are 187 pages.
Well, all my english volumes that are nine chapters typically have the last panel of the last chapter around 187 or so.
Ten chapters DOES tend to pass the 200 mark.
-
No, it´s possible.
Only if the SBS and/or the fanart is severely cut down.
Go look at any 10 chapter volume. What page does the fanart/voice actor SBS/whatever actually begin? It's rarely (if ever) before 204, and almost always 206 or later. That's not a hell of a lot of room for that stuff if the whole thing is 208 pages.
Aren't the voice actor SBSs over
I think Brook is still left, but I don't pay that much attention to that part so I'm not certain.
Well, all my english volumes that are nine chapters typically have the last panel of the last chapter around 187 or so.
The page counts on Shueisha's web site are both sides of every page.
-
the volume comes out first week of february, right?
i need to see the sbs, badly X_X
-
The page counts on Shueisha's web site are both sides of every page.
Isn't that how all pages are counted? Both sides of every page.
My Volume 55 is about 187 pages. Page 187 is the last page of Chapter 541. The last chapter in the volume.
-
It'll be 10 chapters, not 9.
-
Shonen Jump poster? Can someone post it?
