Thanksgiving is my all time favorite meal of the year, hands down. I always make a turkey and gravy, g/f stuffing (I'm celiac and dairy intollerant, if it matters to anyone), corn bread for the kids, mashed potatoes, sweet baby peas, carrots, sweet potatoes topped with margarine and dribbled with maple syrup, butternut squash with margarine and salt and pepper, turnips with margarine, and dinner rolls. Yum. Desert is d/f pumpkin pie and apple pie, with g/f pie crust of course, lol. Just doesn't get much better.
Insider, if you cook your turnkey at such a low temperature that it takes that long to cook, it's probably a simmering vat of salmonella, no offense. Even a huge 20+ lb turkey shoould only take 5+ hours to roast (not bake), lol.
And for all youse younguns whose family drama has ruined the holiday, that's too bad, but remember that as an adult you get to make your own history, from scratch.
