Also. Has anyone actually had a go on the Kinect yesterday? I did Kinect training last night on one and wasn't really impressed myself. I dunno why but it STILL has a lot of trouble picking up people's shapes. Unless you're a normal sized man of average build it'll take a while to pick you up. And even then it was still buggy and non-responsive at times.
They talk about actually reading the wording in the TOS and then they ignore the wording when they write their article.

It doesn't say that they're just going to be selling your information. It's worded like that so that if someone is either being obscene or trying to meet up with little kids using the kinect, Microsoft would reserve the right to keep the recordings to be used in the investigation.

I am interested in maybe buying kinect but only if it will be criticaly acclaimed when it comes out which I doubt otherwise ill wait for a really good game to come out and then buy it, also is it really worth 200 bux AUD?

I'm anticipating thousands of calls from customers befuddled on how to set the thing up. It's a neat piece of tech for the money you spend, but I think it might be too much hassle just to play simple games, especially for some of the less technology inclined gamers.
Wii is fun cause it's easy to pick up and play. Imagine having a ton of people walking around at a party and you've got two people trying to calibrate themselves for a kinect game.
Sure people won't have that much trouble with it, but I think a lot of people who have shown to be hyped about this don't really know what all they are getting.
To me it's a more frustrating, less fun, version of the wii with no good games.
It took a good few minutes to set it up for us when we were doing the training. Although hopefully it might run smoother on Sat when we are doing it in the shops.
Yupp when I went to the training, it took a few minutes for it to set up and I had problems with it since while playing it wouldnt recognize my movement as much since I was wearing kinda loose clothing…

I actually got to try the Kinect today…. I wasn't really all that impressed with it. Nice graphics, and I like how colorful and exciting the stadium levels look on the Kinect Sports. But the gameplay is seriously lacking. It lags really bad and it is really picky on where you stand. If you're too close, you'll just be standing there waving your hands around like a retard. Apparently 3 feet is too close. The demo areas at Best Buy are about 5 feet long so I had to stand right at the end of the little wall enclosure.
It has potential and I still like 360, but I just don't think it lived up to the hype. I can confidently say that my PS Move sales will be better because I can convince people that want the Kinect to switch over to the Move, with a more unbiased opinion.

It may be little more than a gimmick, but Kinect makes me wish I had a 360.
More than Halo, more than Gears of War or Alan Wake.
The launch titles for the Wii weren't so great either, but there were some fun motion control games later on.
If it ends up selling well, we could see a push for better efforts from the big publishing companies.
Also, Dance Central looks like good fun, it might be as good as Rock Band.
I would love a Punchout-like game on the system. The Wii version was great, but dodging using buttons broke the experience a little. (when using the gesture-based scheme)
