I don't know what's worse, the bad 2010 posters or those who connect 2010 with bad posting
This has many things to do with what happened in 2010.
The first thing, and the beginning of all this, was a girl in Jakarta twitted Kubo to congratulate him on chapter 400 and blabbering about Gin's Bankai before it's released in Japan. Shueisha then opened an anti-campaign for online scanlations, "for the mangaka's soul". This lead to the damnation of Raw Paradise. Then One Manga closed shop. The publishers changed their stance on online scanlation. Many manga sites are down. Even though some forums are still active, but it has become a lot more boring than before. People tend to find new places. Some began to move to Arlong Park, hence a big wave of new posters on this forum, especially since August this year. They are not Internet newbies, you see.
Before that, because Zephos and those who posted like him scared most of the bad newbies away, the forum is quite a quality board compared to other places. There were threads whining about Arlong Park in many forums, regarding how flaming we was. -
Regarding to Caribous DF, I'd also go with a cement Logia:
His bro digs the holes and he himself fills the graves with his cement.
Although that kind of Logia would be VERY similar to Mr 3s wax paramecia.
But it'd go well with that burying alive-theme of the bros.

I think AP forums forcing people to register (to see the spoilers) contribute to this situation too. In the past people registered here because they enjoyed the forum. Today some of the new members doesn't care about the community and troll.

It's been 6 chapters since the timeskip. Characters that have not appeared since don't count as "in the series" yet, and won't appear in colorspreads.
That, and colorspreads are almost always Strawhats. Would be nice to get something else once in a while, but I personally would like some spreads with the redesigned crew before Oda starts exploring the rest of the world.

By your logic, wouldn't it be easier to defeat Marco and what remains of the Whitebeards (Given his "leadership" during the war, this is a given), over the time skip and conquering those lands then staring it with Shanks or the other two?

from the moment i started reading one piece and i have enjoyed the anga immensly. it is still my favorite manga of all time, but recently it is beggining to become a little dissapionting..
let me explainthis show was supposed to be about a boy who wanted to become king of the pirates, working his way up to become that of what he wants to achieve, gathering a crew and pushing through hardships.
but now that the strawhat turns out to be rogers, reiliegh "forgive spelling" trains him. ace being his step-brother. dragon his dad. garp his grandad.
all strong people near him if you get what i mean (think of naruto for instance) so it is becoming more like he was destined to become the king no matter what happened.
i am not very good in english but i hope i have delivered my point here.i wanted luffy to become the king by working hard with him and his team, thinking of ways to improve himself "gear 2 & 3" not meet the strongest and train with them.
then what puts it over the top, the strawhat used to be rogers. that right there just ruined what oda has been building for 13 years. my oppinion only

Luffy has never stopped working hard with his crew. Here's a newsflash though, he needed to be trained.
I have nothing against you, but your opinion seems to come down to "I want them to be the underdogs".
In a way, the Straw Hats are still the underdogs (I.E. not close to admiral level), but if this last arc (the war) has shown us anything, it's that Luffy was far too weak to save anyone. Which could have lost him his crew and did lose him his brother.
The SHs needed this timeskip to become stronger. They wouldn't have lasted in the New World if they didn't have these 2 years. They won't be one-shotting every enemy that comes their way now, but they'll at least stand a chance now.
Give it time, you'll see Oda still knows what he's doing.

It was pretty obvious that Luffy would never be able to become the Pirate King without help from somebody else. You didn't expect the SH to just skim through the New World, defeating a Yonkou here and there, and reach Raftel within a couple of months, did you?
That the strawhat was Roger's was obvious since it was revealed that Shanks was a cabin boy on Roger's ship.

No I don't think and in my eyes it becomes clearly better. OK I don't like that Luffy/Roger similarity but that's just a minor thing.
In total the manga became even better with all this new relationship and hidden storyline which has to be revelead

I can see your point on that. It might make for a slightly more harrowing story if all odds were against him. But part of the story is also that Luffy has this weirdly charismatic personality. You can't help but want to root for him. And I think that's what happened with a lot of the strongest characters in this, his lineage aside. They felt that this spunky kid deserved a chance because he seemed to want it the most and had a lot of potential.
It'd be like if you found this scrawny mutt yapping at your heels and you tried to shoo it away, but then it did some cool back flips. And you were all…"Hey...that's different, never thought it could do something that cool." So you gave it some food.

Are we reading the same manga?
It's not in Luffy's interest to mention that he knows any of those strong dudes:
- he never told anyone about Ace until the SHs met him in Alabasta
- he never told anyone about Garp until the SHs met him in Water Seven
- he never said "Look, that's Red Hair's hat"
- he didn't even know who his father is and even after he does know shit about how important Dragon is
Luffy did everything to become the strongest on his own (with help of his friends/crew of course).
Even Garp said in the war something like "It's unimportant that the world knows now that Luffy is Dragon's son; he made his name known worldwide by his own."Luffy is NOT such an ass who makes himself look better by saying that he knows this or that person.
