I need to find from a credible source on why Macbeth is the called the cursed play and its name brings bad luck (unless it is used as a line inside the Play Macbeth its self from what I understand). I seen some reasons on Wikipedia (though how true is questionable) and typed it in on Google, yet I only bring up conspiracy sites. Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe the reason lies in those very conspiracy sites?
The first link I clicked after a google seemed sufficient.

I figured it did, yet I'm very skeptic about websites after martinlutherking.org. My sister used that for citing sources and the teacher wasn't all that thrilled.
@RobbyBevard:
Also I printed off that page and my theater teacher excepted it. I was very worried he wouldn't. He is very strict and prolong exposure to him makes me feel like a piece of trash.
Thanks for the help and advice.

As a completely un-susperstitious guy I love making the Acting majors at my school cry by doing this.

When I mentioned it to my theatre teacher, he said he didn't know where that silly tradition came from and said even in his graduate school the teachers would say it. I found it funny because I can recall him calling it anything other than the Scottish Play during our whole conversation.
Also, that episode of Blackadder is what stuck in my mind regarding the play being cursed.
