Ask for the chapter, really enjoyed it really did I mean seeing Camie actually do things is great. Sanji back to normal makes me happy, maybe now will see him fight I'm getting confused about the mermaid princess, seems to me she's falling for Luffy that'd be the second princess to do that he's a pimp geese I'm looking forward to what happens next, clearly Decken is going to be the first to die, or defeated, guy is just asking for it. Than will have Luffy V.S Hodi next. What will happen with the others too? I'm thinking the Luffy and his gang will go to save them. I can't wait for the next chapter, I'm sure they'll find out the others have been caught soon.

Is it just me, or does the pacing seem kind of wonky in this arc? Ah well, maybe it will read better as a whole. Either way, I did enjoy this chapter I like seeing how Jimbei acts now that it isn't a dire situation. Once this flashback shows by, maybe we'll be able to see him act less seriously. I feel that he was harshly judged because we only saw how he acted when one of his best friends was going into a huge war over the life of another of his friends. I hope we'll see a completely different side of him, soon.

Where was it said Jinbei ordered Arlong to go to east blue? letting him loose could have many interpretations. It oculd mean he exiled Arlong from FI. It could mean he disbanded the Sunny Pirates which got Arlong upset and led to him leaving for the east blue. Whatever it was, it's pretty unlikely he intentionally had Arlong do that stuff. could be, could be not. We don't know for sure now what exactly Jimbe did or said to Arlong.
Jimbe has some fault in the fact that Arlong went to East Blue. That makes him for me (for ME) to blame on the east blue incident. Not just Arlong alone, but him, too.
I'm not saying I hate Jimbe now, because it's way too early for that, I want to understand first what was going on in the past, so I can judge. Till then I just can't respect him the same way I did back in the Whitebeard War.

In defense of the "tired of the Nami/Arlong storyline" argument, this is very similar thematically to the (brief) sequence in Sabaody Archipelago, with Nami forgiving Hacchi for his participation with the Arlong Pirates and so on. It was treated rather simply and briefly there, so it did give the appearance that Nami had come to terms with her past.

On the other hand, this was partially because Nami considered Hacchi especially harmless, and there's a degree of difference between forgiving a lesser participant in the ordeal and the fundamental cause. Plus, her mother was shot in the head while she watched and she came incredibly close to seeing her whole village massacred for her sake, so it's probably not fair to think she's just going to get "over it."

Jinbe's revelation isn't much of a surprise given the above (although its interesting that Arlong was let loose a year before he landed at Cocoyashi village, I wonder what he was doing). For now, I'll believe Yoskau's words and accept that Jinbe only let Arlong go because the World Government made him do it as a requirement to become a warlord. He probably did it for a good reason, like to reduce animosity between humans and fishmen.

I liked this chapter a lot, Jinbe's delayed reaction to the princess was priceless, great to see my favorite fishman show more of his funnier side.

Next week's will probably have Gaimon on the cover and the flashback will start. I'm looking forward to that.

Exactly. Lookatyou, you've never seemed the most aware bulb in the drawer, so you need to understand how sensitive an issue this is that you start going around "correcting" people over what they aren't wrong about.

I myself have a cousin who is not only adopted but she is actually the adopted daughter of my dad's cousin! So she's EXTRA not technically my cousin. But after her mom died (yes, not her biological mom) that family essentially shunned her. But my wing of the family has taken her in and now she comes to all our get togethers.

Ok, you should at least get a chance to be able to explain things… So let me ask you, did you at least watch the whole anime? Or just parts of it too? And youtube and torrent aren't excuses, because I've just googled it and easily found a site were you can watch all episodes of OP online with subtitles (watchop.com), and without a doubt I could also find websites with download links if I had looked for it some more.

Because man seriously, if you didn't read or watch, I highly suggest that you do it before coming back here to discuss, because you can't seriously be expecting that we are just gonna fill you in all details of 619 chapters of OP.

And you definitely won't keep up to our discussions unless you inform yourself first hand, because we discuss things here under the assumption that everybody here has read everything, and is up to date with the manga releases, and therefore at least knows the essential about OP.

If a fishman is 10 times faster underwater, and humans are 10 times slower… And he is still faster. This means Zoro would've been about 100 times faster than normal fishman, if the fight was somewhere else.
At least that's what it looks like for me.

As for the chapter - the usual awesomeness. Franky being funny, Zoro kicking ass, Luffy being careless and some kind of Brook joke.

Nami even said it herself in her flashback as a kid that you are not my real mom and she wanted someone else to be who was rich however she did not mean what she said then and did it only because Bellemere was not rich which is probly the reason Nami likes money so much now so she can buy whatever she wants which is why she hated it that she did not have enough money to save Bellemere and Caimie.

We also don't know if Nami's parents are alive or dead for example Franky's dad is a pirate and we might see him in the new world however they are most likely dead.

The arc has just started. We're either about to get a flashback, or about to get the cliffnotes of the flashback that will happen later, and then its going to go for another year or two after that. The pacing is fine.

Ace IS Luffy's real brother. So is Sabo. Blood has nothing to do with it.

Bellemere is Nami's mother, and Nojiko is her sister. Hiriluk is Chopper's father. I'm not sure that Zeff and Sanji were that close, and Franky and Tom had more of an uncle/nephew relationship, but they were definitely family.

I have a real life sister I haven't really seen since I was 3. There's other people that I'm far closer to and more protective of.

Blood isn't everything.

Biggest wildcard for me in this arc is Den. Has room for interesting backstory and current purpose, and Oda's managed to introduce him in the area of Fishman Island that's about to see a lot of important plot points. Not trying to sidetrack the thread with a OMG NAKAMA discussion, but think he's going to be a big part of this arc's transition into Phase Two. Or Three, if you count the underwater voyage.
