FYI I know about the other thread but that was was more of announcement thread than an official discussion thread. Sooo anyone watched this?
The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes
-
-
Watched the first two episodes and was surprised how mature it is. Lots of cameos (hello Hawkeye). Liked Thor and Iron Man. Not crazy about Wasp. She seemed too childish.
DC fanboys had the Justice League cartoon, now it's Marvel's turn.
-
Oh theirs a show for the Avengers now? :wassat:
-
This is shaping up to be pretty well. I've seen the mini's Marvel put out, and thought it was a great way to expose viewers to the show who know little about the characters in the Avengers without doing backstory's.
It does seem a bit mature, which I like. One thing to note is that they took the Nazi's out of Captain America's story, instead saying HYDRA was the culprit in WWII. But that's just nitpicking.
I'm also glad that it didn't end up like Ultimate Avengers that started out with a whole emphasis on Captain America readjusting, instead we get the actual original Avengers starting the team. Even though it wouldn't have bugged me so much if they even did have Captain America in the founding of the team, as long as they didn't go so much into him as the focus, I would have even still been a bit happy. But I do have to say I am very happy at the fact they are at least keeping this part from the comics, even if the situation is not the same, the fact that they kept the original five, being the original five made me happy. And I will be happy to see Cap soon.
Only thing that bugs me is that weird fused design of Nick Furry and his Ultimate/Samuel Jackson versions.

This is second one actually and it's better than the first one.

Not as weird as the fact that no one has yet to say anything about what happened to his hair.
-

I think I know the first one,but didn't know about the 2nd.
-
Caught the Mini-Eps on Youtube, and the first 2 episodes.
First off, the theme song is kinda disappointing to me after the awesomeness that was the Spectacular Spiderman theme. But I'm nitpicking there.
Second, I think this show is going to expand my newly discovered love of Thor. I got into him with the newest comic series "Thor, The Mighty Avenger", and his opening scene in this first episode has him as this massive all powerful God…that's totally awkward and woobie when it comes to a certain human woman named Jane, and I LOVE HIM (he fiddles with Mjolnir! dies).

Really? I love the theme song, and think it actually surpasses my love for the Spectacular Spider-man theme song.

I dunno why, it just doesn't hit me as well as the SS song did. Maybe it was the bouncier beat in SS, or the lyrics of Avengers not being quite as…creatively used? I'm sure I'll get used to it, but Spectacular still stands at the top for me.
And I forgot to mention how glad I am they used intelligent Hulk in this, and his whole storyline. Bruce making a deal with the devil in some ways, the Hulk's shock when Jan backed him up against Graviton.
I definitely think Disney's got a hit on it's hands. As a majority DC fan, I look forward to diving into the world of Marvel.

I completely agree about the Hulk. While I do love the interactions between Bruce and the Hulk, one of the reasons I loved the animated adaption of Planet Hulk was because we got to see, well the Hulk, and that he really is almost like his own person.
At the rate of how awesome this series is just from some micro episodes, and two full episodes, I'm gonna be cocky and hope for seeing the other Hulks, and Bucky return as Winter Solider.
-
I just watched the first 9 Micro-Episodes,pretty good series so far.
Only 2 complaints:
-Nazi being renamed to Hydra. That's a big spit in the face of history and teaching kids the wrong enemy of WWII.
-Thor getting beaten up by the Wrecking Crew and Frost Giants only to easily beat them in one attack at the end of an episode,I know you want length in the episodes but it just seemed random to make him volley between being weak and strong. -
The Avenger cartoon is awesome :D
The show has great action -
I definitely think Disney's got a hit on it's hands.
So long as it doesn't suffer the same fate as Spectacular Spider-Man.

-
All marvel theme songs pale in comparison to Super hero Squad ^_^
-
Finished watching the Micro episodes and the 2 aired episodes, this is a great show!
Oh and I thought they renamed Nazi's to Hydra in this but it seems Hydra is an actual Marvel organization that Red Skull leads.
http://marvel.wikia.com/Hydra_%28Earth-616%29 -
Red Skull does not and has never lead Hydra in the comics.
-
Yeah, HYDRA defrosted The Red Skull, but he was never in charge of it. That was Baron von Strucker, who was a villain from Nick Fury and His Howling Commandoes.
Now, The Red Skull did manage to take over a HYDRA cell to form his own organization, but HYDRA has always had splinter cells. A.I.M. was originally their science department for instance and The Secret Empire was a group set up to make money off of organized crime.
-
He was the maker and leader of it until Strucker took it over, wasn't he?
-
One of my favorite new cartoons of all time. Hulk resisting Graviton was the stuff of legends.
-
Yea now they have the trouble of coming up with a way to top that fight.
-
He was the maker and leader of it until Strucker took it over, wasn't he?
It was originally some random guy named Arnold Brown or something along those lines. Strucker was later retconned as being the leader from the start with Brown being a decoy.
I think Brown was some sort of salesman; I don't think he sold used cars, but it's possible.

Ah,OK thanks for letting me know, wasn't to knowledgeable on HYDRA.
I just watched the new episode, pretty good,I'm really liking this series. And the Captain America foreshadowing at the end was good too.
-
Bruce Banners intro seemed the most interesting so far.
Hopefully this series will continue to impress.
Side note: Was anyone else disappointed with ironman?
-
Series looks pretty decent, and puts that terrible avengers series from ten years ago to rest at last.
Disappointed at them taking out the nazis though, for all the aforementioned reasons. Liked the wolverine cameo, loved the graviton fight, as well as the zemo/ultron bits.

So it was wolverine with captain A. I thought it was just my wishful thinking…lol.
side note: I know changing Red skulls nazi's seems anal, but it doesn't change the greatness of the plot. I guess this is just another attempt at putting the past in the past.
-
Apparently this takes place in the same universe as Wolverine and the X-men….which takes place in the same universe as the Hulk Vs. Wolverine/Thor movies, guess this does kind of bring up why Thor seemed pretty PO'd with the Hulk, Thor's chivalry aside. Hopefully we might ever see the X-men with the Professor sometime down the road in this series
-
This series really hasn't got nearly enough credit here.
It has tiny faults here and there, by which I mean minascule. But overall its portrayal of characters and interesting storyline totally overshadows that.
-
Did anyone else watch Gamma World Part 1 and 2 last night?
It was a pretty good hour long episode~! Hulk has finally rejoined and Hawkeye has also joined.
-
Gamma World was awesome :D
I like the Absorbing Man vs Thor fight -
"You asked me before what gives me the right to think I can rule.
Simple because No Can Stop me".I also liked Hawkeye making Hulk laugh himself back into Banner.
-
The Masters of Evil episode was awesome :D
It had great fight scenes -
Yeah,this was a great episode.
Not liking Hawkeye being a whiny bitch though.
-
Just saying
This show has the worst intro I've ever seen
Holy shit stupid post-grunge sound
-
Wow, Sunday at 10am is a terrible timeslot to premier new eps. >_>
I vastly prefer the theme as an instrumental as we hear it over the end credits.
-

Well that explains the missing episode that was supposed to come on at Wednesday night but didn't.
-
459 was a great episode :D
I like the fight scenes and the fast animation,I also like Roger Craig Smith as Captain Marvel
It's a bit weird that there using the Ultimate Captain Marvel design then the Classic Captain Marvel -
I don't get the title name 459,but great episode regardless.
And Ms.Marvel,YAY! :w00t: -
Can anyone please enlighten me as to why they put this show on such a horrible timeslot? This show is pretty good and it's quite confusing as to why Disney would just show it at such an abysmal time.
-
Don't know myself but at any rate they do encore it so it's not a total and complete lost.
-
Yeah, though the encore is at 10:30 p.m. which isn't much better =/. This show better not end up like Spectacular Spiderman in which it would be canceled because of the abysmal treatment given by the network.
-
^Abysmal treatment? Disney whored the shit out the show.
-
I think it would be a lot better if Avengers EMH moves to the Regular Disney Channel
-
^Abysmal treatment? Disney whored the shit out the show.
Then they went on to constantly move the show in such a way that it was on irregular times. I remember not even knowing when the hell they were showing it, which sucks because Spectacular Spiderman was….well....spectacular.
I think it would be a lot better if Avengers EMH moves to the Regular Disney Channel
Agreed. It's a pity that Disney is too busy flooding that channel with Hanna Montana and Zack & Cody episodes. =(
-
Up until 2 weeks ago, new eps would air Wednesday night, that's a decent timeslot if you ask me. I caught every ep, it wasn't till the unannounced move to Sunday that I missed Masters of Evil (and had to wait till this Sat before it re-aired).
I loved the focus on Hank and Jan for this past ep, as I know the least about them, it's good to see them get some attention.
-
^Abysmal treatment? Disney whored the shit out the show.
They also ran the series finale with the sound turned off for about twenty minutes of its twenty-two/three minute running time. No apology and no replay of it either.

How do hell do you that?
-
The new episode was great :D
Great to have Mockingbird first time animated
I like the actions scenes! I was surprised that Viper was a Skrull
-
! Seems the Skrull Invasion is coming soon,I wonder if the Fantastic 4 will appear soon as well.
-
How do hell do you that?
Gross incompetence is the most charitable answer.
As I recall, Disney XD was showing the new episodes at 8:00 then with a replay sometime after midnight, but didn't do so that evening for whatever reason. They didn't even schedule another episode of the series but had something completely different than usual.
-
The Avengers are back and the new episode was awesome :D
