LuffyÂ´s new moves (ch 376 spoilers)

Well, in the most recent chapter Luffy anounced that heÂ´s got some new moves that he would like to try out. While I have zero ideaÂ´s what they might be I think it might be fun to start a speculation thread about it.

So IÂ´ll make the start. Though I donÂ´t know what moves Luffy will show us, IÂ´m sure that at least one of them will be inspired on something that weÂ´ve seen in this arc so far. Remember back at the Arlong arc, where Luffy used Gomu Gomu no Kazaguruma on Mohmoo and the Mermen? It was obviously inspired on Gen-sanÂ´s pinwheel. And I think that something like that might be the case here again. However I donÂ´t have any idea what might have inspired him. I just mentioned it as food for thought. Maybe some of you guys will hit the bullseye.

I think something like Gomu Gomu Baka is like that paper move .

he will do something crazy like gomu gomu no kabe (meaning wall) so that he can become as hard as a brcik wall (based off tekkai)

i know that's not really the plot but i'd like the sogeking to use luffy as a bow which will send zoro and his santoryu to kill the foe.

remember how luffy was stuck in between two buildings?
well since he seems to be strong enough to push those buildings apart, maybe he'll be able to grab two buildings and pull them together to sandwich someone inbetween them. sounds a bit excessive, but that's my guess.

How about some sort of suction stick move that takes the shigan and forms a semi-vacuum like a suction cup, restraining the movements of his opponents

didn't quite get that vacuum thing… but i think that we might see a gomu gomu no bell just like he used against Walpol...

now for my bet for the cookie:
gomu gomu no tidalwave?? (no idea how it would be... i think of a combination of ballon and rocket)

I imagin it is going to be a real move and not something one might expect from Luffy. He was probably inspired by cp9 when they were beat. I think this is going ot be a time where all the characters evolve once again to overcome this incredible obsticle. Any bets on the new bounties after they defeat cp9?

Hm interesting so far. I like what d3adpool said. Something involving the Aqua Laguna would make sense somehow. It is likely that Luffy got inspired from that. Though I really donÂ´t know how an Gomu Gomu no Tidal Wave would look like.

Well IÂ´m curious to here more guesses.

he might use something he thought was really cool, like the guy's pinwheel in arlong arc so I have some suggestions.
he really seemed impressed by Kaka's jumping, you never no.
maybe some move inspired by Lucci's pidgeon thing. cos it seems random to have put that in without something more to it.

Yeah that Pinwheel idea was what made me start this thread. However IÂ´ve rethought some things. For instance back in Arlong arc, Gomu Gomu no Kazaguruma was inspired from Gen-sanÂ´s Pinwheel. To get to the point, the move and the inspiration came from the same arc.

However if we take a look at Alabasta arc, when Luffy was fighting the first time with Crocodile, we saw him use Gomu Gomu no Baku Baku. This move might have been inspired on WapolÂ´s baku baku powers. So this means we have a move in one arc (Alabasta) that was inspired on an event form the previous arc (Drum).

Now to take that back to this discussion, it might actually be that Luffy even has an inspiration from the Longring Longland arc that he will use in a move here. Just some more food for thought. Happy speculating.

i can't think of things he's seen, maybe he'll use the image dial and use it to make an image of himself to fool the cp9. I'm just makin it up as I go.

Maybe Luffy was inspired by the Rocketman or Puffing Tom (the trains), he might invent a more modified version of Gomu Gomu no Rocket. Or invent a modified version of Gomu Gomu no Ballon.

He might make a Ballon style "Coop 'd Vent" inspired by Franky. Most of CP9's moves are based on the wind's movements after all.

I like the Coup 'd Vent idea. But I was thinking it might be like the rope action that Paulie used to save the crew from Aqua Laguna. I might be that Luffy wraps his arm around Lucchi to bind him, and then slings him into the ocean, or at least smashes him around.

Of course, it might be something that looks really idiotic when we first see it, but quite effective when he pulls it off. (like Water Luffy, Baka Luffy, and the octopus rampage.)

i wonder if luffy will learn the "rokushiki" after this… seeing as though hes so inspired by it, it would be really cool... gomu gomu + rokushiki = PWNAGEEEEEEEE interesting to c wat his new moves will b tho... how about gomu gomu no wago-mu... pulls his finger really back then releases so its like shigan...

I'm guessing Luffy's new move has something to do with Gomu Gomu no Cannon since like in the Sky Island arch he had Gomu Gomu no Hanabi and expanded on that

But a move that is inspired by the Aqua Laguna is highly possible as well Maybe Gomu Gomu no Tidal Wave or he might make a Gomu Gomu no Nami xD!!

I have a feeling we'll see more then one new move, maybe a counter move against Lucci's shigan and other moves as well as a new attacking move which is retardedly awesome. I'm always for combining old moves like when he made Gomu Gomu no Storm

I think it could be based on the Sea trains, I cant picture a move in my head, but theyve been a integral part so far and Gomu Gomu rocketman sounds great

Forgive me for this being unclear, anyone think he learned something from skypia? like how to predict moves or whatever "gods" ability was. I'm still guessing something from cp9… i hope gomu gomu no robot was not it, but it was kinda funny.
