Chapter 600: "The Island of Restarting" Discussion

So, is the overall idea that the Caribou bros. are gonna be fodderized? Not even able to withstand a haki blast type of fodder? Or 1-2 panel to go down in a "fight" kind of fodder?

It's not the time for an epic fight, so if: a-there's some kind of fighting, it will be fast. They have to sail. Now. Raileigh said so, and Raileigh is the boss. b-there's no fighting, the marines kill the fakes and the journey starts. c-there's no fight, the marines kill the fakes, but the Coribou bros. escape and come back later. d- there's no fight, and everyone escapes from the marines. Even fluffy and the rest will come back later.

So, options?

The caribou brothers don't seem to be supernova level. I guess killing marines mindlessly gets you a high bounty so the probably will be knocked out by a HH blast.

I know before I say this that he was stronger then him before the time skip, but Kidd's main claim to fame was killing civilians. I mean, at least Marines put something of a fight.

Only thing I didn't like about Franky's new design was the loss of hair. This chapter solved that.
And having hands in his hands was awesome.

doesn't matter if caribou brothers are supernova level or not. Lets say they are supernova level, and the high bounty isn't just for killing marines.

for quick reference, that means they are as strong as Luffy/Kidd/Law/Zoro/ect when they arrived 2 years ago.

Ok so we have the brothers who are luffy level TWO years ago. They are not going to be a challenge for Luffy and Zoro or sanji. If they were, then that means that we did not improve at all in the two years.

If the Marines even get new SH pictures, the SH'll either have to head inland for Luffy (presumably leaving real Sanji at the Sunny), or the Marines will chase Luffy to the Sunny and not see Sanji (below deck or something) yet somehow see Fake Sanji nearby and somehow not catch him or see him as being left behind. Or they could catch him, take away Sanji's bounty and make the gag continue that way...

Wouldn't that only strengthen the idea of them being fodder? I mean, I'd imagine people with Supernova level bounties (100M to around 300M from the looks of it) would be absolute fodder for the monster trio at this point. Unless you mean that the two weirdos are gonna fight some of the other SH.

Fodderism (defined by Websters as the act of being fodder) is all relative. We often forget that the Strawhats themselves were pretty powerless against Aokiji and a few other enemies. They could have been considered fodder then. Had he tried on Longring Island, Aokiji could have wiped them all out in an instant. So are the Caribou brothers and the current rookies fodder in an absolute sense? No. Are they fodder in a relative sense? Yes. It is all about who they are facing.

And for the record, I believe the current rookies will put up a fight, but will ultimately be put down by the SHs with extreme prejudice.

There's a style issue, but my one complaint was that he seemed clumsy. Then Oda nailed the explanation in the following chapter.

Totally style issue. It's also super awkward for him to go…uh...anywhere. I know Oda will deal with it but it's kinda strange. I don't dislike it though. He's a beast.

It will be kind of symbolic if they succeed where they failed 2 years ago. I am hoping Luffy powns Sentomaru with ease and Zoro and Sanji destroy the PX easily in a uber way.

An admiral will be too early. The fighte against the 3 admirals will be neard the end of the series.

Think of it like this: it's like those old civil-war era pajamas that have the backside that unbuttons, so that a person could go to the outhouse on a freezing winter night with his jams still on. … Just because the pajamas have a flap that makes a certain task easier doesn't mean that the person can never ever remove his pajamas completely.

I was at first shocked by Zoro's latest scar, but right after I immediately found it to be very badass. It's a nice touch I think. He's got the chest scar, the ankle scars and now the eye?. I think that this is one of the few series where the characters actually get a permanent change to their appearance that wasn't caused because they transformed partially into something else or altered their soul:getlost:.

With Sanji though…I honestly didn't notice the part changed sides till someone mentioned it here.

Franky's design I never liked...And the time skip appearance doesn't really change my opinion. He seemed out of place to me with the cyborg aspect. Although I sort of hoped he would have kept that I stuck my face in an explosion look.

*just thought of it, but it's kinda neat about Sanji's other eye being obscured and Zoro's opposite being closed. Kinda like another little theme that they are opposites, but they can pick up the other one's slack or weakness. They are meant to fight together as one~

I have to admit, at first I didn't care for Franky's new look, but it's starting to grow on me, arms and all. I'm hoping that when the anime catches up his arms make a big satisfying "WHAM" when he does his pose.
