Can we all just appreciate that Ezekiel is Cyborg/Aqualad…and honestly he nailed it.
Looks like Khary Payton needs to branch out more.

BOOOOOORRRRIIIIING!
I understand Daryl is a fan favorite and you gotta showcase what's happening to him but the episode went nowhere! Literally nowhere! No developments, no reveals, no nothing. Just the same scene over and over again and some crappy music. I feel like we were the ones that were tormented.

[hide]The development of Dwight and the insight into his past and relation to Negan seemed important to me… I haven't read the comics but I'm quite certain he's going to be a major character. [/hide]

The whole episode was dedicated to Dwight not Daryl, it was an episode to develop him not Daryl, and it did a good job with that as far as I'm concerned.

That's the entire series in a nutshell.

This. Daryl was just along for the the ride on Easy Street
What did we learn about Dwight that couldn't be solved in like 10 minutes rather than 45? Negan ironed his face. Already knew that. Neegan has an iron grip on him. Already knew that. Dwight has seedlings of doubt about Neegan's community. News Flash. Already knew that too because the first time we met him he was trying to run away.
The only thing we learned about Dwight was…
! The marriage proposal fiasco. And it took 45 minutes of slogging through dog food to get that reveal which wasn't worth it.
This is the walking dead, what did you guys expect. They will prolong stuff for as long as the can to easy fill time.
Also, why the hell does Daryl not just give in, act along untill he can find a easy way out. I am tired of this trope where characters have to be stubborn for no reason.
Same with Rick telling Neagan he is going to kill him. Shut the hell up and plan your move.

It's almost like taking the coolest character in the cast and keeping him locked in a room to eat dogfood sandwiches doesn't make for very interesting TV. Who could have thought?

Sure, you sort of have to expect it, but it still sucks when it happens. :getlost:
Last I checked this wasn't the Daryl Show.
I wished Daryl would have gotten brained just so people would stop complaining about their golden hero having to go through some adversity

The entire point of the finale and the first episode was that Rick MASSIVELY overplayed his hand in thinking that Negan and his group were just some punks instead of a well-oiled army, especially since Negan lost close to 40 people to Rick's group and saw it as a minor annoyance. Now despite it being an annoyance, Negan had to punish Rick to prove the point that Rick's group by itself is minor league compared to Negan's operation.
I don't care about Daryl enough that I need the whole episode to be about him. I like him and all and they could do an entire episode about him just fine, but he's not absolutely needed. What's needed is some progress in the show which there was none this weekend.
Oh, they developed Dwight's character from A to B though we were already pretty much on B.
Negan ironed his face. Already knew that.
Neegan has an iron grip on him.

I wouldn't call being prideful no reason to be stubborn.
I didn’t even do that on purpose but now I'm kinda patting myself on the back.
I'm sure the writers thought they were being very clever with the dissonance between Darryl's situation and playing Easy Street and that it didn't get old and tired very fast.

I came into the classroom singing that song the next day and one of my students was like, 'I'm sick of that song'.
Yeah, me too.
I guess that was the whole point but….meh.
! While I have my complaints about the snailpace of the episode, I found it enjoyable enough to give the writers their props. Usually I hate these kind of episodes where close to nothing happens for over 40 minutes, but I still think this episode was engaging, Morgan does a great job capturing his character, he really comes across as believable.
! All the ways in which Negan choose his words, the way he speaks to Rick, the way he keeps looking for faults to exploit in people and manage to keep them on their toes is exactly the way a real psychopath would abuse someone. What comes across as rather strange is the fact that Rick doesn't seem to be setting up a plan to double cross him. He's basically admitted defeat. And while I enjoyed this episode, I fear it's setting up for a reaaaaally slow season. If this little is gonna get resolved every episode, we're in for another season 2.
! Negan is my favorite villain of the series. I wonder if Rick realized what he said to Spencer after the gun incident was creepily similar to what Negan has been doing to others. "Say yes." There's definitely going to be some in house fighting. Rosita picking up another gun is going to either be great for them or get someone maimed.
! I don't forsee this as a slow season. People who were already wary of Rick now have less faith in him. Carl, Spencer and Rosita are very likely to be at the forefront of something full of bad ideas.
! What was with that hot pile of tombstones Michonne found? Or whatever that was.

! Those were all of their mattresses that Negan's gang took, burned to uselessness

Ahhh okay. I could not figure out what I was looking at lol.

Might be because the cgi on those mattresses was pure garbage. xD
Just finished watching the newest one.
They took a while trying to tie everything back into the comics for that episode, and there was something extra in the ending that wasn't supposed to be there as far as I remember. Oh well.
Also Jesus = Chuck Norris.
Another snore episode. Trevor from GTA just feels like discount Negan, Gregory is still a giant dick and nothing happened in general. Is there no better way to pace an episode than this when you have a character like Negan?
Even Negan is starting to wear thin. Only Walking Dead can take an entertaining character like Negan and make you sick of him.

Stephen Ogg plays a better Neagan than JDm does, cause he isnt obnoxiously over the top the entire freaking time.

Well he did murder Glenn so of course people would dislike him:ninja:
Tara and Heath next I suppose… and we've almost reached the mid-season finale... I hope that we'll at least get a glimpse of what Jesus and Coral are gonna be up to...
Yeah, first half almost over, and as expected they are gonna drag Neagan out for hopefully 2 seasons at most, but you never know with the ''writers'' of TWD.

Regarding Negan's fate (comic spoilers):
! You better get used to him.
Yeah, that's the thing about Negan.
! He's in it for the long haul.
That guy ain't dying any time soon, or losing relevance any time soon.
Given what happened to Andrea in the TV show anything can change.
I'm not sure if that's an appropriate example, comparing a side character who at some point far down the road turns out to be the new and longest lasting love interest for the main character, and the series' biggest and baddest villain who has been relevant ever since his introduction. It can change, sure, it's just highly unlikely.
I still love this image.

Well sure provided JDM doesn't want to quit the show or not too many people get tired of Neagan.
Quick question: did anybody ever give a fuck about Tara?
Quick question: did anybody ever give a fuck about Tara?
Not even the show gave a shit, we wasted so much time on this new community and yet we offscreened Tara's reaction to her girlfriend's death. This is just awful, wasteful writing.
Yeah…Last couple of episodes were especially dull. But....Not boring enough that I'll drop. Hopefully the second half of the season is much more interesting.

Worse yet, they're probably not gonna show her until a few episodes in the future when she's just sitting around being emo. Judging by the pacing so far we'll probably get a whole episode with that lady who do the inventory next time.

I did.
Until I completely forgot about her after the end of last season. I legitimately forgot her character existed since the season has been back.

I actually thought she died but I think I confused her for someone else through a faulty memory. She wasn't the one that got shot with Daryl's arrow. Whoever that was.
Pretty interesting video for anybody who wonders how Negan comes to dominate people the way he does.
Thoughts from one of my friends who reads the comics.
!
!
I really liked this episode.
! But I feel like Negan is going to be reason I go to Hell. What he said to pretty much everyone was so horrible but his mannerisms and the way he speaks made me crack up. It's so absurd. The Olivia bit was so messed up but his reactiom to her crying made me laugh.
! Also the wives thing. Wtf? He is amazingly cruel but mellow. I noticed he had a black wife with an amazing weave. Like…How? Does she do it herself? I was super impressed.
! Then we get Carl the nearly badass. His hair bothers me so much. If it didn't have the Farah Fawcett curl it'd be okay. But I can't believe he thought he was going to get anywhere.
! Also Ninja Jesus.
! This was mid season finale though right? It ended kinda strangely. Much less of a Wow! kind of end.

Episode eight will be the season finale. You're referring to episode seven. So stay tuned until Sunday.
Nobody talking about the mid season finale?
! Spencer got what he had coming. I knew sucking up to Negan such a backstabby way wouldn't work. But it's unfortunate it was a catalyst for Olivia getting killed. Rosita was stupid and horribly unlucky. Now poor Eugene is in a huge mess because of her.
! I did like that The Avengers are grouping up and preparing. I don't imagine it going well though. I sorta hope Carol does get back into it though.
! The Kingdom combined with the Amazons might prove to be useful in.the future. But who was that shadowy person that kept lurking about?
! Negan is my favorite villain right now. Making spaghetti and terrorizing people. He can do it all.
! God, I hate Eugene so bad. Every single scene he's in this show just grate on me. I was really hoping for Negan beating his ass to death this whole episode.

! I always go back and forth between being irritated by him to cracking up. He's just so weird overall.
! Who I hate is Dwight. Ugh that guy pisses me off.
! Also I'm 90% sure molten metal being poured on skin already decaying sounds like it wouldn't hold.

! Maybe that logic is what will do him in. While Eugene does have his strengths like making the bullet, he's pulling the same thing he did initially against Abraham. He's overstating what he can do so he's worth keeping alive.
! I actually don't mind this turn for him, though I don't see a redemption unless it's anything short of wrecking the Savior's base. Completely in character for him to lie out his ass to survive, and it even takes a bit of the bravery that Tara and Rosita put in him with the level of confidence he says Negan's name with.

He crack alot of jokes and say some things that are kinda funny, so I do kinda occasionally shuckle at the stuff he says. Like, I laugh at him in bewilderment. But then I get pissed of at myself for having laughed at him, because I hate him so much. I don't know about Dwight though, he doesn't have much going for him. Some of the redditors on the Walking Dead page really praised his character moment in the house this episode, but personally I don't care for his character.
