Well, it'd be lame to watched a group of nine fighters battle 3 opponents for one. Especially when there are so many other people to fight.
On top of that, Sentomaru fought Luffy practically alone last time. They're the only ones with history, so why would Sanji and Zoro join in? Cause Luffy alone is too weak to fight him? Why? That'd sor tof water down the meaning of all this training if Luffy couldn't beat the subordinate of an Admiral at this point.
Wait, I figured out a better way to say all this. After 2 years story time, or a month for us, why should the final fights of this arc boil down to teams ups again old opponents cause the Strawhats are still too weak to fight them! Showing off how weak our protagonists are after a timeskip where they trained to become stronger is like shooting yourself in the foot to relieve a headache.
The story can afford to have some Kuma bots get there asses kicked. They're small in the grand scheme of things.
The current Admirals are people who can fight on par with guys like Marco and Rayleigh.
Luffy might be able to stall one of them for a blip, but he'd go down without too much trouble on the Admiral's part.

You do realize that Smoker and Ace aren't always incorporeal right? They control when they use their abilities. They were blind sided by Luffy and were in their physical form.
When has Sanji ever shown a hint of Haki? Who trained him in it as of late? Zoro and Luffy have always been a little ahead of Sanji strength wise, and that divide seems to have definitely become larger with Oda show casing how strong the two of them have become in this latest chapter. Not saying Sanji is weak, but Luffy and Zoro look to be a class or two above at this point.

Sanji has done absolutely nothing but skirt chase and shop since he came to the island. What is this general need people here have to consistently rate Sanji on a "far" lower tier when compared to Zoro and Luffy when he's done nothing but fight people on the same tier as the ones Zoro (and maybe Luffy by a stretch) has fought.

From the way they are adding up right now, Luffy is on his way to the meeting place, Zoro and Sanji are together, Usopp and Nami, Franky and Robin at the ship, Brook being awesome, and Chopper off somewhere.
Sentoumaru is going to be going to the grove first with the Kumabots so who ever he runs into to first gets it. I doubt that Usopp could do any major damage to on with the physical aspects of his ammo (unless he has some secret metal destroying ammo). Robin and Brook are mostly in the same boat due to the effects of their fighting style (Robin and Brook very doubtfully can get through the metal and brute strength). Everyone else is questionable.

As for Sentoumaru, I believe it will be Luffy and him, one on one, for one reason, Luffy doesn't want his crew to get hurt. While they might be able to fight him, I believeLuffy wants to prove to himself that he has gotten stronger by defeating someone whom steamrolled him.

Again, it is hard to be for certain. We haven't fully seen everyone's capabilities, just little teasers (or in Robin's, Brook's, and Chopper's nothing much… cept Brook is famous).

Do you really want things to play out that way? I don't get the appeal of Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji fighting an opponent who is no where near as grand an enemy as Odz was (I'm not talking about strength btw). Sentomaru doesn't deserve to have three skilled opponents figure out how to beat him, a one-on-one fight would showcase Sentomaru and whoever more evenly. A team battle does best to display the level of team work between fighters–why would we want to see Sanji, Zoro, and Luffy bond with each other while fighting Sentomaru. This is a guy Zoro barely knows since he was mostly unconscious in their last encounter! Are Zoro, Sanji, and Luffy going to make a habit of fighting together in the future? I really doubt it, so what's the point of them teaming up now?
If you want team battles, then frankly the entire crew vs. some massive threat would make more sense.
On a less related topic, I'm betting those two 200 million pirates are going to be featured in one-on-one fights. That could be fun. Maybe they'll be Sanji and Zoro's opponents? Who knows.
I was thinking that perhaps there could be two sets of opponents. Sentomaru, the two Pacifistas and some new Marine officers or those ten allies of the fakers with bounties. Kind of depends on which side gets to the Straw Hats first.
Oda's only flaws after coming back from a one month break.
1. Drawing the chapter 598 poster wrong..he drew Zoro's missing eye on the wrong side and made Zoro look like he was missing an arm. (must have been drunk, one month vacation can lead to a lot of bad habits, lol.)
2. Changing Franky's body to make it look like a low budget Transformer.
-well that's all the flaws I could think of, that's my opinion, other then that, Oda's still Flawless in his own right.

Predictions
-Sentomaru is about to get destroyed by Luffy in about four chapters.
-PX-5 and PX-7 are also going to get jobbed by the rest of the crew.
Why? Because by comparison the PXs and Sentomaru were the weakest of Luffy's foes when he and the Strawhat's got beaten. Two years have just passed and Oda needs some fodder to show off the the "tip of the iceberg" of the crew's new skills. So naturally having a rematch turn around is good. And having the crew run like scared dogs from these guys just after the time skip would make them look weak, which is not what Oda wants.
Luffy is clearly not in the same tier as the admirals, BUT, he's no longer far weaker than them. This means Luffy can have the typical big battle and just barely win over an admiral using his brains and never giving up. He's going to have to start beating admirals, that's the next logical step if I'm right in thinking he's going to outclass Sentomaru. Which one? I'm pretty sure they are going to introduce a new Admiral to fill in for whoever takes over Sengoku's spot. This new one will probably be the one to get beaten.
I think Oda may be trying to portray Zoro as similar to Musashi Miyamoto. Musashi invented 2 sword style, Zoro invented 3 (har har). Musashi is not only famous as a swordsman, he was a philosopher, and wrote the Book of Five Rings. Zoro hasn't written a book yet, but with increased philosophical insight, I starting to believe he will when he matures.
However, that scar is an homage to One-Eyed Dragon Masamune Date imo. I know others agree.

Well I must say I was disappointed by this chapter. I was so hyped up by the "2 years later" chapter(which had me grinning from ear to ear) that I was expecting an equally amazing chapter. So I pretty much ruined it for myself lol.
Glad we got to see Zoro and Franky, glad to know that they are sending worthy marines after the SH.
I hope Zoro or Sanji take Sentomaru while Luffy sits it out. I love the idea that the captain is so powerful his crew finds it unnecessary for him to fight a few battles. Then again, they may not be at this point yet, just wishful thinking.
If Luffy does fight Sentomaru 1v1, then Zoro or Sanji(small chance Franky) will take the Pacifistas. Even though Usopp has powered up greatly, I don't see him jumping into the battle before its already over(not from fear, just it will be over already).
Regarding the numerous posts about Zoro's quote at the end…don't look so deeply into it. His personality was not altered. A bit of Mihawk may have rubbed off on him, but not too any extent worth whining about.
I want to know if those guys who stole Cocoa were revolutionaries or CP9.

Quite likely Zoro and Sanji were strong enough to beat Lucci back during CP9 arc itself. They dealth with Kaku/Jyabura with little problem while Luffy just barely pulled off a win. So they were a lot closer to Luffy/Lucci's level than most people give them credit for.

I dunno, they don't really seem to be worth any of the MT's time tbh. Zoro already had a bounty close to 200mill pre-skip. 2 years on I reckon they'd be better off being opponents of those that are perceived as being "weak" among the SHs - Usopp/Nami/Chopper.
And I agree, Sentoumaru isn't nearly a big enough threat to warrant a group fight.
Man, you guys sure are looking down on Sentomaru and the Pacifistas. Sentomaru could very well be above vice-admiral level and the Pacifistas were only prototypes two years ago (and they were already powerhouses).
It's true that it seems that this time the PX are going to be guinea pigs for the monster trio, but I doubt Sentomaru would fall easily.
Back in Jaya, when Luffy's $100,000,000 bounty was revealed to Teach, he mentioned how only "$30,000,000 was odd for a kid with such Ambition" and they never fought. It was simply a statement comparing Luffy's overall growth between the past and their current time at Impel Down.
"If you're talking about the theory of Blackbeard sensing Luffy as a potential Haki user when they first met at the pub I see no other explanation. Haki is basically spirit and it can be emitted from the body. By Impel Down Blackbeard knew of Luffy's Haki because he said it had "improved", not awakened, so he knew he could already use it.

As an Asian whose language has the equivalent of Haki, I would say that Teach sensed a strong "aura" from Luffy when he first met Luffy. That aura/charisma/presence is exactly what Haki is about, just not in technique/skill form, but rather a potential form. Even so, it was, as BB noticed, unusually strong.

I don't see why it would be? It's not as if Date was particularly renowned as a swordsman or anything like that. He was more famous for being a leader of men than anything and that certainly isn't what Zoro's focus is. As for his later use in anime and video games as a quasi-swordsman, I don't think Oda is in the business of going out of his way to deliver an homage to that type of muddled source. Maybe I could see it if one of Oda's favorite childhood cartoons was about a fictionalized one-eyed swordsman version of "Date", but as far as I know (which isn't very far) that isn't the case.
Besides the one eye, what is Zoro's connection to Masamune Date that would dictate such a direct influence? One-eyed fighters are hardly a rarity in manga or any kind of pirate fiction really.

There's something I find very interesting about Fake Luffy when you analogize real Luffy to Roger:
People detest this Fake Luffy for his killing spree across S.A., but will remember it as Real Luffy anyways. Likewise, people across the world hated Roger. This suggests to me that the latter had at least one or two instances just like this.
Perhaps this is foreshadowing Luffy's legacy to be far from rosy, even if he does become Pirate King?

As for BB measuring Luffy's haki, it really isn't clear if he has it too, but I'm thinking not. He panicked when Whitebeard was about to smash his face in, then called on the rest of his crackpot crew to gang up on him. If he did have it, I'd wonder why he didn't use it to at least lessen the damage he took.

If anything Oda has been a bit too fast lately because of the war but he finally seems to be settling down to his usual pace now.
I just wanna state that that scene with Luffy using Haki on the fake hats was amazing and officially one of m favorite scenes ever. The way it captured the essence of Luffy's growth and how far he's grown with a few effective panels (albeit one of them being very big). I mean Oda would have wowed me with Luffy simply using his CoC but his CoO as well? Simply incredible.

Don't forget the giant hand Robin can make. That's even bigger then Luffy's Gear Third. Well at least it seems that way when I think how it looked compared to Oars who was twice as big as giants. Getting smahes by this ought to be enough to damage a Pacifisa. Not destroy it maybe but damage it
Although now that I think about it I wonder if Robin didn't learn some Rokushiki like skills from the revolutionaries. I am guessing they do a lot of work similiar to CP9 so it would make sense and they would be well suited to somone with her powers. I imagine it would be quite unfortuante to face agaainst someone not only being able use Shigan but who also has a dozen hands. And Tekkai would go a long way towards balancing Robin's major weakness

Ohhhh! That would make sense, but nowhere do they say the ship is harder than a train (I think.) They do say "It's a Galleon!", but those are made of oak (unless it's different in the OP world.)
