Brilliant.
The last series never got aired in the UK, and I have avoided finding out what happened too, so really looking forward to this.
Shout factory? Good brand. Aren't they also the ones that released the Sonic SatAM dvds?
Bout damn time, its only been like, 10 years since season 4 aired… the once.
I rewatched chunks of it all on youtube recently though. Season 3 is still superb.
Season 4... still ends on a horrible cliffhanger because they'd planned on a 12 episode season and not an 8 episode season. Meh. Well, amybe they'll do like the Sonic dvds and interview the creators and get a summary out of them of what would have happened.
Another thing I wonder. When they get to the Season 4 episodes. Will be putting them as their TV Movies form or will they the seprate episodes.
Since the 2 story arcs of Season 4 were original made as TV Movies that got turn into 8 episodes (4 episodes each for both movies) that made Season 4. I'm kinda hoping for the tv movies verisons of the episodes.
Because the movie verisons have a speical intro to the movies that didn't aired during the tv episodes. Aleast the ReBoot web comic is out now on ReBoot.com that conculdes the cliffhanger of Season 4.

Shame its in an impossible to use bizzarro custom browser that makes it impossible to turn pages, zoom in, load, or read anything.
Yes, its neat that theres a page turning graphic where you "pull and turn the page", but I'd rather be able to read it.

Sweet. I might consider getting this.
I never got to watch Season 4 though.

Oh dear, Darkstorm is broken…

Really you can just end it on season 3 and its a fantastic complete show, right down to the climax with Megabyte and the big musical number renenactment.
Season 4 had some moments, but its got that Slayers Revolution vibe, where they had the gang back together after a few years but didn't know what to do with them and they really missed the mark in a lot of areas especially personal interaction, and it really ruined one of the characters for me.
! Dot just turned into such a selfish, shallow unfeeling bitch in those last few episodes, after having been such a strong independent character up till then. And the choices she made… UGH.
If you've actually stayed spoiler free all this time, I won't say any more. But… better to be warned in advance that it doesn't resolve than start wondering in the last 5 minutes how they're going to wrap up.
I'm definately going to think about getting this. I don't think I ever watched the episodes in order, I just caught the odd episode, but it was really cool.
I loved this series, but never saw the original .
Also never saw Slayers Revolution , though I would like to .

Before Season 3, I was pretty much the same. Once Season 3 start, both myself and one of my sisters watched it. We were both addicted to Matrix and Andraia. I always liked Bob though.

Trust me.
You wouldn't
Why ?
You can spoiler tag it if you want .
No need.
It has no new ideas whatsoever.
Just a rehash of stuff from the past few years.
And that would be bad ?
Sure could use something like that to get me through Belch every week .
Offtopic , I know .
OH FUCK YES!!!
(16 alphanumerics)
You know, I never actually did watch Reboot as a kid. The design and premise kinda weirded me out. I guess this'll be as good as any to correct my old mistake.
yuk
Well, Reboot at least deals with a dangling plot thread or two, fills in some back story and tries to move the characters forward… I just think they did a lousy job at it and a couple characters they had no idea what to do with. Probably at least a little because they didn't get those last 4 episodes to get them out of the middle they put them in, but... a couple of the developments were really bad. Surfer is literally silent and off camera the entire time with only half second cameos. for instance.

Its probably a little hard to watch the eaaaaarly cgi now, but it was a great show. Season 1 the episodes are all standalone, but fun. Season 2 an ongoing plot and some big twists come together, and season 3… they stopped airing on ABC and aired only in Canada so they went "Well, screw the BS&P" and became all sorts of awesome.
Season 3 is friggin' amazing.
@No:

As for Slayers Revolution..
! The villains are Zannifer and Rezo. Again. Yeeeah.
! And Gourry has a faux sword of light thats never really explained, it just sort of exists. And 20 or the 26 episodes are pure filler… even by Slayers standards.
Well there was always filler in the series . Like the "let's go hunt a dragon to eat it" episode .
Whose Zennifer again ?(Oh and how is Rezo alive ?)
Oh , ontopic…..uhm.......never realy saw Season 4 I think . What was this shity cliffhanger everyone's on about ?
@No:

Yeah, but their filler was always maybe half and half, and usually it would at least have a goal it was working towards. Revolution was almost entirely filler.
And Zannifer was the monster from the end of season 1. So basically they rehashed the season 1 villains. For the THIRD time in Rezo's case.
Oh , ontopic…..uhm.......never realy saw Season 4 I think . What was this shity cliffhanger everyone's on about ?
! Megabyte comes back from the web as a shapeshitfting virus, impersonates Bob, nearly marries Dot (who chooses him over the Real Bob… bitch.) and then he conquers the city.
Shout Factory does a wonderful job with the MST3K DVD sets so this is great news.
I have never seen Season 4.
I think I'll just get seasons 1-3.
If I get this, I think I'll skip over Season 4 as well. Season 3 ended perfectly.
@RobbyBevard:
! Megabyte comes back from the web as a shapeshitfting virus, impersonates Bob, nearly marries Dot (who chooses him over the Real Bob… bitch.) and then he conquers the city.
! Oh my God, that's right! I totally remember that! That's why you felt Dot seemed so selfish. She was such a bitch for neglecting the real Bob.
! "Yeah, you're the real one who nearly died for me and already confessed his love for me, but….there's this other Bob who's like you only before you glitched out. So....yeah, I'll call you."
! BITCH!
! At the same time, Dot was pretty selfish at times. God knows how pissed she got at Bob when Mouse kissed him after Bob and Enzo reunited with the old gang. You haven't seen Bob in God knows how long, you thought he was dead, and you get angry because MOUSE kissed him? Mouse kisses everyone! That's nothing new! She's flirty! Get over the fact that she delivers overly too much at times, and you don't at all, Dot!
Daemon was cute. The only redeeming part of the bonus Reboot episodes. I didn't like anything else, the musical summary after Mainframe rebooted qualifies as a best ending ever.
Let not forgot the awesomeness of Hex Vs. Deamon in the finale of the first Season 4 movie.
I loved Hexadecimal. She was such a good character.
! I loved that they spared her at the end of Season 3 and even made her a part of the crew.
Let not forgot the awesomeness of Hex Vs. Deamon in the finale of the first Season 4 movie.
! They could have made that fight better by cutting Mike the TV's 2 minute long gratuitous James Brown song number and adding more fightey in instead.
! Really, Daemon being hyped as a super virus that had already conquered countless systems could have just held the entire 8 episodes by herself.
Wow, this really takes me back. Now I have to scour the net to see if they bring back any of my old favorites like Phantom 2040. ReBoot was pretty cool. There weren't many shows around at the time that chose "that type" of animation. Series like Transformers: Beast Wars and Storm Hawks owe a lot to ReBoot.
Beast Wars was actually the same studio as Reboot, Mainframe. The first season of War Planets/Shadow Raiders was pretty great as well. (Season 2 its pretty obvious the toy people stepped in with some demands.) Mainframe was awesome for a couple years.
Now they do like, direct to dvd Barbie movies.
Those things pop up like herpes.
I loved Hexadecimal. She was such a good character.

Hexadecimal was what got me into the show. The first ep I ever watched was where she was painting everything. (AWESOME!!)
Not to mention her awesome pet cat.

@RobbyBevard:
Canada was awesome for a couple years.
During Mainframe's era anime dubs were dominated by Ocean Group, and there was other Canadian works ported to US TV as well. Most of my beloved NickJr cartoons were of Canadian origin. Plus, really cool people come from there, like uh…Bill Murray, William Shatner, Rick Moranis, Robin Ward, Cindre and captain usopp.
What happened to Canada's greatness?? Did they run out of Australium or something?

The did this for the Sonic the Hedgehog dvds too, those were covered in fanart. Gah, if I find the free time I'd love to take a crack at this.
The difference here is fanart will be in a booklet as opposed to all over the damn packaging.
The level of EXCITE I feel for this release borders on unholy.

Don't care what anyone says, Ocean's DBZ dub is MY DBZ. No one did Piccolo like Scott McNeil.
And as for what happened to Canada's awesomeness? (no mention of Micheal J. Fox? FOR SHAME.) Nickelback ruined our street cred for YEARS. We're working on getting it back I think, with Ryan Renolds (aka Green Lantern/possibly Deadpool) and Nathan Fillion (from ABC's 'Castle', Vigilante in Justice League Unlimited/ Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman DVD, and Captain Hammer from Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog).
Of course, that little punk Justin Bieber is slowing things up like crazy. Sorry 'bout that.
And I'm SO going for that Fan Art Contest.

buh, whaa. i wanna see!!! T_T
also,
can I has cheeseburgerreboot.
i never got to see a lot of season 3 and none of season 4 cause of work, and, was that the time i moved away and went to college?
speaking of canadian stuff; anyone remember cybersix or nighthood? <333
buh, whaa. i wanna see!!! T_T
There was an interview with Jaleel White, where he said some things about how he was brought on to be the star name, but he was surrounded by really talented people. Not being egotistical at all, just the sheer fact that Urkel was HUGE at the time, andhe talked about how the voice he used he tried to keep ethnicity out of it and just be "hero".
And then they had an interview with the head writer where he basically said the glowing eyes at the end of season 2 were Ixus Nagus, who would kick out Snivley and make Robotnick into his flunky. Snivley would have nowhere else to go and would have joined the freedom fighters… and there would have been more focus on Tails becoming a real FF.
speaking of canadian stuff; anyone remember cybersix or nighthood? <333
AGGH, Cybersix, another work pulled off the air with a cliffhanger. I loved that show so, SO MUCH. Lucas was an adorable lug. <3 Same goes for Nighthood (mmm, Arsene Lupin). Wonderful shows, both ended too soon.
Y'know, I'm noticing a small pattern with all these Canadian shows…
The Cover art for the set is out.

UUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNFFFFFFFFFFF!!!! Need a release date immediately!
Now THAT is one nice cover, doesn't need anything more to it.
And I saw talk about audio commentary on that page! EXTRAS, YES PLZ.
Damn, I'm going to have to buy this, aren't I?
I loved Hexadecimal. She was such a good character.

Hexadecimal. One of the best characters of all time.

why can't it be out in time for christmas?

FUCK YES!!
reboot was awesome back in the day
ReBoot Seasons 1 & 2 are coming out on dvd, March 1st.
Awesome. but I think I'll wait for the complete one, that is assuming it'll have all of the special features from the individual sets (I don't see why it wouldn't >_> )
Is it possible to watch a CGI series like Reboot without it looking like ass nowadays
I've never tried looking up anything about it past 1990-whatever because I can't imagine the visuals hold up well
I'm more hoping for the Seasons 3 & 4 boxset will inculde the movie verisons of the Season 4 episodes.
From what I know about the Movie verison Deamon Rising have intro with Deamon with a narration.
While the cartoon network verison of the beginng of Deamon Rising was aired as episodes with the ReBoot opening that recaps Season 3 storyline.
@Holy:

It was the first CG television show, you kinda have to cut it some slack. Even tho it still managed to have better rigging and lip synch than many other shows for years after the fact. Mainframe was awesome that way.
