Sounds like a failed superhero, nice.
Fun Fact;
In Melbourne, Nguyen is the second most common last name in the Melbourne Phone Book, under Smith.Oh, I'm intrigued. I used to have a job sending out free samples. The name Nguyen must've taken up 30% of requests. Maybe it wasn't just one guy trolling after all. Maybe it was a few!

N. America > USA > New York
But I grew up in MA, CT and NH, then lived for a few years as a teen in So Ca and attended Jr College in No Ca–Weed, to be precise. LOL. Just under Mt Shasta, for anyone familiar. Lovely area, and it's where I met my husband. Why? One of the only two Jr Colleges in the state with dormatories at that time--no idea if that's changed. Went to Japan after I got married. Moved to NY sometime later.
ANd yes, Icel, there is a lot of arrogant assumption by many Americans that it's the best place to live, but in part it's a cultural thing because the country was founded on and continues to depend on immigration (despite many acting as if new immigrants ought to inhabit the armpit of the nation) so the idea that many people come here to find a better life is sort of taught to kids as they are schooled. It's even part of the poem which I believe is on the base of the Statue of Liberty ("...Send me your tired; your poor; Your wretched refuse yearning to be free. Send me the homeless tempest... etc." or something along those lines). People here just forget that there are other great places, too.
For a time my husband and I lived in NYC as "ex-patriots," sent as tranfers from Tokyo by his company for a number of years (Yes, for me I am using the term ironically--of course I couldn't be a true "ex-pat" in my own country, lol) It was annoying to be questioned and held up by ignorant immigration guys at the TX airport who couldn't understand why my husband didn't have a green card, but rather a work visa, despite being married to me, a citizen, when we traveled to Mexico or the Carribean. But they never said anything when we left from LAX or either of NYC's two airports, nor the NJ, WA or SF airports, either, so I assume it had to do with the border problems in TX. (FTR--he has a green card now)

bump in the interest of someone wanting a thread about this and this already existing.

Am I the only one surprised to see Europe beating the US on this one?
-
Yes. You should visit the manga and anime sections every once in a while.

its too painful to enter knowing you only have a crappy tablet to respond on. I'm holding out on shipping my PC sometime this year if I get a chance. Debating is somewhat enjoyable then…. when I can actually have hundreds of resources at my fingertips.
As for the reasoning behind my logic. We had a thread years ago that allowed the users to mark a world map, and from that was shown around 50% of users were not only just from the US, but the east coast (if my memory isn't playing up). Admittedly it didn't have hundreds of users on it, but at the time it wasn't out enough to make you question it.
It could also be down to one piece airing in other European countries later than the US?
(Thus altering the results drastically) Either way I'm still surprised by poll. I kind of wish I could know exactly where in Europe the voters are coming from.It's too late to start over now.
-
Europe because Europe is the only thing that exists in Europe right ?
-
There, now North America and Europe are tied…
-
Why isn't there a Central America option?
Not Central American, but I'm curious.
-
Oh cool, what an interesting thread that I've never seen bef- wait, I've already voted?
@Nia:
Europe > Germany > Bavaria.
But I sometimes like to pretend that Bavaria is an independent country not affiliated with Germany.AND posted?
… huh. Uh.
GO EUROPE GO -
@No:
Europe because Europe is the only thing that exists in Europe right ?
Even if there were options for say, Canada, Mexico, and Japan, Europe would probably still be just "Europe".
If you know a sensible way to fit 206 sovereign states into a poll that only allows 15 slots, be my guest.
Besides, the poll has been around for like 3 years apparently.

Ah that wasn't a dig at the poll. That was just me poking fun of that old trope where characters say they went to "Europe", like the "All expense paid trip to Europe" from the TMNT side season, or the Chipmunk's Adventure where Dave goes on a business trip "to Europe".
Cause in this context Europe basicly boils down to stereotyped portrayals of Paris,London and Rome, Moscow if you're realy lucky.
As a sidenote I'd DIE to see a character get an "all expenses paid trip to Europe" only for the trip to be to Latvia, Poland and Albania. As in those places that, according to pop culture, don't exist.
