Does the anime artwork follow that of the manga?
i.e. ep 236 (not sure of the manga chapter) but does Choppers head in chibi mode look like it's a seperate entity?
ep 237 does everyones head from the side look like it was cut our in steel? (i.e. jaged right hand angles, lack of curves, elongated from front to back, etc).
i think ppl over analyze the work of the anime, imo the animation is nice and the drawings could be worse. the animation for toei seems consistent and the only time i thought the animation sucked was the episdoe when luffy arrived for his 2nd round with croc saving vivi. Other than that. i thought the animation was well done. and the hdtv format makes the animation looks even better imo.
Why not just look at the manga for yourself? The chapters those episodes cover are 333-335, roughly.

The animation's done by different teams and Toei is infamous for their low quality (basically they're the training grounds for Ghibli and as soon as one team actually gets good, they leave Toei.)
That's all you need to know.

i thought people might be interested in a discussion about it given that different people might have different opinions on it, i know on times when i've browsed the manga i've seen scenes that were more of less traced through into the manga but i know it's also been mentioned that Oda's style has matured and i'm sure that the studio's have changes which could lead to the seperation of manga and anime artwork, all of those possibilities coupled with the fact i have no idea where to get the manga from, or what chapters they from, though thanks for enlightening me, i'll give it a search in the manga forum.
