That episode was just beautiful. It might not have been as packed with laughs as the last episode was, but I was pretty close to tears at the end. To think that Pierce would get the perfect sendoff during an episode he wasn't even in. I'll miss you Pierce (mainly season 1 Pierce but whatever).
I think these bottle episodes are some of my favorites. Dungeons and Dragons, Chaos Theory, Calligraphy, and this one.

Just curious, has anyone gone through the opening to Basic Intergluteal Numismatics and paused to read all the articles? The props department put a lot of work into that one. There are some gems. Including this favorite of mine:
"After much debate, it's been settled. All three of Greendale's newspapers have agreed to the moniker "Ass Crack Bandit" for all future stories regarding the coin-dropping case. The decision was made just after 2 a.m. this morning during a twelve-hour summit at the local Denny's."
They put a ton of work into those though, so if you can frame by frame 'em you should. Including the two page one. It's amazing.

Community this week got a 1.1 Rating in the 18-49 Demographic, but has 3.17 Million viewers watch. The Big Bang Theory this week got a 2.9 rating in the 18-49 Demographic, and 11.89 Million viewers.
The catch, something that's gonna help Community is that all of NBC's shows on Thursday are doing just as bad, mostly worse. Parks and Rec got 1.2 / 3.08 M, Sean Saves the World got a 0.8 / 2.67, and the Micheal J Fox Show got a 0.6 / 2.01.
The question about wither not Community is coming back next season depends on how many shows NBC is willing to bring back. They could axe the entire line-up and start from scratch. They could also play it save and just keep Parks and Rec and or Community. They might do bad, but they don't do as bad as their new comedies.
I'm not sure what NBC should do to be honest. They have a tradition with Comedies on Thursday. But I think it might be a good time to change up things and experiment with another day. But I don't know.

I'm not sure about season 6 but I think a movie is always a possibility if the management side isn't opposed to it.
The reason being kickstarter. From what I've glimpsed from the community-community
I have very little doubt that a kickstarter could gather enough money to make a movie possible + I think the actors would also be up for it even if it would pay very little(but maybe I'm wrong :ninja:).
Bottle episodes are often the best… this was no exception.
Yeah, Silver's got the gist of it, but the biggest problem for Community is simple: NBC is debuting two new comedies after The Voice next month. How they do will probably decide Community's fate, BUT Community's STILL not doing as poorly as it was last season, and NBC will likely need spackle. I'm honestly confident in a season 6, but we'll see where the ratings go in the meantime.
But there's a 0% chance NBC will air two hours of comedy on Thursday next season. That much is certain.
Something that's been very cool about this season is that it hasn't let the spirits of the past characters die. With Pierce we've felt his presence alot so far this season between cameo in Repilot and this newest episode. I'm sure we'll get a reference to Pierce here and there, but otherwise I think he's send off is done.
With Troy, do you think they can potentially use the tracking device joke as a way to keep his spirit bound with the show? Maybe an in a future episode Annie ask where Troy is now. This type of deal? Just a cool thought.
NBC's playing it a bit better than last year. They had two comedies with big names attached behind The Voice, but after the first handful of episodes they aired without it and it lost it's audience. This time 'round it seems both shows will have The Voice as a lead-in for their entire run. Which is unfortunate because they'll get inflated ratings, but I'm not entirely sure they won't fail. NBC is bad about picking/promoting/developing new comedies.
Any L+7 for the first two episodes yet?

NBC Entertainment Chari Bob Greenblatt basically confirms a Six Season for Community.
No, Greenblatt stated "Parks and Rec is coming back for a seventh season" though his tone can apparently be taken as "I am certain that Parks and Rec will return for a seventh season". This is not essentially a renewal in official capacity, but it does make Parks and Rec's chances apparently 99.99999999%.
It was stated the Community is a "strong possibility" for renewal, but Jennifer Salke made it a point to state that the same certainty given to Parks does not extend to Community, but this does not mean Community's chances are grim.
The way it is right now, IMO, assuming the ratings hold:
Parks and Rec: 99.999999999%
Community: 95%
Community's argument is that it still has yet to neither hit its own lows nor Parks' lows this season, but that can change over the next nine episodes.
So this means their movie is almost assured too?
How are they going to do a Movie about community?
Don't know how much this helps things but Community's DVR Ratings (Live+7) got a 38% increase going from 1.3 to a 1.8.

Additionally, NBC did a nice little Tribute to Troy for this week's good bye episode.
The description is weird though, "Even after his death, Pierce Hawthorne still finds a way to ridicule his nemesis, Jeff Winger."

which is insane cause I've laughed almost through the whole episode.
But yeah this was what was missing last season. This has been one of the most batshit crazy episodes but that ending(storyline) justifies it for me.
"Come Sail Away" was my breaking point.

I really enjoyed this episode. It just felt like the right way for a send-off. The surprise guest at the end was the best part. Just perfect.

The episode rating was a 1.1 at 3.05 mil viewers. Parks and Rec got a 1.2 with 2.95 mil.
So in second viewing I caught Chang shouting his celebrity same sex crush was Nathan Fillion, wonder if that'll have any play into him showing up later in the season.
Nathan Filion is, in fact, going to appear in the very next episode.
God, this season is a breath of fresh air. I needed this Community back.

I'm kind of hoping this is the new handshake, and that Birtta and Hickey become a duo.
I think my favorite part of this episode was Britta and how she kind of turn the trope of The Entire School goes in on the bit trope over on its head. The best laugh I got was;

it was going great. then they revealed "Fat Dog" and I died. I mean I hate saying the same thing every week but I don't have much to add other than they nailed it again.
I also really like the way they mixed Jonathan Banks into it. He feels right at home, nothing forced.

You know, I didn't care for this one that much. I mean, I'll probably re-watch a few times and get it better. But I wasn't super into this one.
^Compared to the previous 2 episodes this certainly lacked any kind of gravitas and felt somewhat like a filler episode to me, which is strange since it's actually trying to move the one of the main storylines(save greendale commitee) this season forward.
But then I still laughed quite a bit, especially when Chang broke down and later when the whole decoration squad imitates him to get their way with Annie.
Something about Chang playing the racial card just gets me :D.
This probably won't end up as one of the more memorable episodes for me but it's probably going to be one that I'll appreciate being there when I've watched my favorites to death.
I believe my problem with the episode is that it felt very stretch. There was a A, B, and a C story. Community has a lot of resources, more so this season; even though we lost 2 members of the study group we gained 3 (Hickey, Duncan, and Chang). We have a huge supply of Guest Stars, and a campus of huge shinangans. But I've also thought Community when it tries to do 3 plots or more it gets too thin. Though they do hit the nail out of the park like the Debate episode, where everything is nicely twined together.
This episode the story goes to three different directions. Though they do all end at the dance. But the whole dance plot with Jeff, Shirley, Chang, and Duncan felt like it solely made to have them do something and be in the episode; so that we could focus on Anne/Hickey and Abed/Britta plots.
Personally, knowing that Rachael was going to in the season made me think that Racheal and Abed were dating, off screen. Which can happen. So when Abed was flirting with the other girl was upsetting me. Its weird to say I'm glad Abed didn't call her back. I think the writers did this to have more control over the dynamic, but it feels weird considering that Abed and Racheal set up more dates in her first appearance. There's a few Reddit post saying that a lot of Abed's action this season has made him seen meaner and less like-able. I don't know if its to that extreme, but I have noticed a sharper edge to him.
And I just hope Rachael becomes similar to Vaughn and appear occasionally and not written off when her episodes are up.

I wouldn't be surprised if that news line of Levar and Troy is only the start of a series of easter eggs that tells it's own story about them throughout the season.
Someone on Reddit mention that it would be hilarious if they go out to save Troy and Levar for the fabled Movie.

The party preparation story was fun, too.
