http://www.thesouptv.com/clips/the-soup-blog-community-returns-to-nbc/180104
-
best trailer ever!!!! gave me goosebumps!! highlights from the trailer im lookin forward to, evil abed, troy vs. abed, and the dreamatorium!!!
-
I agree! I like Chang's little army of children too! I can't wait for the 15th. Finally, Community will return with a vengeance! X)
-
That is the greatest trailer ever!!
And watch it live?
Does that mean they're doing something like 30 Rock did a while back? Also, the first two webisodes of Abed's Master Key are up on hulu:

Now that the Webisodes are out, I believe I'm allowed to talk about them. I was approached by a 3rd party company to do those webisodes based off my designs and my really crappy animation. But that was back in January. Originally they were going to be more with less time per episode. I'm being vague cause I signed a Non-disclosure agreement, and I'm not allowed to talk about what I do know about the cartoons. I didn't get to do it because the 3rd company got outbid ed for the project by the company that made those.
I'm actually really sad I didn't get to do them. And a few friends IRL, kept contacting me about the cartoon haha.

Sucks, man, I liked your interpretations of the characters more than what we ended up with.
-
Fun fact though, the Company that they went with is comprised of 2 people one of which is Dave Thomas who played Uncle Trevor in Arrested Development.
Being the asshole that I am, I do enjoy some of the comments made about the cartoons. I really giggled at "$5 Animation Budget" left on their facebook. But it was really cool to see someone tweet that the cartoons should've looked liked mine.

I hope so
And Silver I really wish they would have gone with yours so much better quality.
Also I guess
! Starburns is the one that dies.

Harmon teased that the rest of Season 3 will include a highly experimental episode where Abed and Annie spend the entire episode in the Dreamatorium, a Law & Order homage episode, and an episode where the group goes inside a video game.
Wait.. what?
-
Yup. It was announced at PaleyFest. :)
-
I can't wait for the incredibly innacurate portrayl of whatever video game they're going to be in :ninja: .

A blurb has been released for this upcoming episode:
Andre and Shirley plan to remarry, throwing Annie and Britta into wedding-planning mode. Jeff, meanwhile, prepares a speech while Troy and Abed practice acting normal. Elsewhere, Pierce and Shirley present a sandwich-shop proposal to Dean Pelton.
We already knew most of it, but this outlines it pretty well. Sounds like we're going to have a nice stuffed episode.
-
Perfect.
-
That is all.

My friends and I started marathoning the entirety of the series to date so we can be uber refreshed for when it starts again tomorrow. Earlier today, we watched Introduction to Statistics, and I caught something that made me lawl.
When Pierce accidentally calls his mom, she says "I saw your father's ghost again, he's still angry…"
Obviously a throw away joke like that can be ignored at any time, but it made me start wondering if maybe the man we met wasn't Pierce's birth father. It really doesn't matter, and it's something that I never picked up on till I saw the episode forthe 100th time, but still it makes me wonder if there's something there...

When we're introduced to Cornelius, Annie asks something like "I just assumed he was dead, mathematically speaking". Pierce then said, "Mom liked to pretend that was the case". Pierce's mom was probably just imagining Cornelius being dead.
There's also a possibility that your theory is correct, and the amount of storylines that could sprout from that would be fun to see. :D

WooHoo! Hopefully Comedy Central can bring it some more viewership! Maybe even save it from the brink like they did with Futurama. Yay yay yay!
-
Bad news? Community no longer needs 88 episodes to reach syndication. The only thing that would guarantee a fourth season would be the desire for that valuable syndication money. (CBS just renewed The Good Wife for its fourth season and its ratings are awful for the same reason.)
Good news? A fourth season of Community won't really cost anything at all for NBC now. It's basically free money from here on out.

So, thewhole syndication thing confuses me. Does this mean that if NBC cancels it, Comedy Central will pick it up for at least one new season? I'm not really familiar with the term.
-
Syndication is when other channels pick up the rights to show a TV show. Usually happens around 100+ episodes. If you've ever noticed a show all of a sudden turn up on a bunch of your local channels and cable channels that's what it is.
No idea if that means Comedy Central will pick it back up if NBC cans it.
-
Essentially, syndication means Comedy Central has picked up Community for reruns. It's a good sign because it shows NBC there is outside interest and even after the show's gone there's money to be made.
-
Oh, that's good then. I misinterpreted it as Comedy Central buying the rights to Community entirely.

Jim Rash interview: http://www.avclub.com/articles/jim-rash,70872/
-
I love this news, even if I don't have cable.
Thought someone mention here or maybe it was on another forum was the fact the show needed additional 12 episodes after Season 3 to get syndicated was one of the driving forces for the show to get a fourth and final season? With that out of the equation, does this hurt or help Community?
-
Well, in a way it could be. With an early syndication NBC could just write off the show and profit from it. However, with the money made from syndication a fourth season wouldn't be as expensive - and would bring more profit because Comedy Central has the syndication right's to the first three seasons. So it could go either way.
-
typically syndication is a good sign, it's how TV shows make most of their money in the long run broadcast-wise. Since Harmon only planned on doing one more season anyway there's a very good chance, especially if they show does well on comedy central, that NBC will allow that so they can sell that into syndication as well which will probably be more profitable for them in the long run.
-
It all probably depends on tonight's ratings. If it stays up, NBC now has a cheap and successful show to carry into the fall. If they stay down, it goes either way. We just need to see how it performs from here on.
-
New Community in 22 minutes. Fuck that feels good to say.
And for anyone who's not watching it….....

I'm got it muted and in the background, but I have a live stream for a non-for-profit origination at the same time :(

Jeff and Britta's fight was hilarious. Was a nice episode.
-
Good episode. Drunk Britta is amazing. #coolcoolcool
Show was preempted in Michigan so expect even lower ratings than usual.
-
Episode was great! Normal Troy and Abed were fantastic.
Also
! I feel so bad for Pierce. Poor man has really kind of lost it all. At least he's still rich.
! Also, seeing Annie's Boobs again was fantastic!
! Oh! And I was kinda raising my eyeborws at Andre's little outburst. Glad to had him redeem himself.
! And lastly, the tag was hilarious. I love Chevy. -
Awesome, amazing.
Welcome back Community: you've been missed!
-
Oh old friend! Our time apart showed me just how much you fill in my life!
Just thought of something, the slogan and the school flag… Dude, it's totally appealing to people's inner asshole that normally wouldn't be accepted anywhere... Kinda a little like the show does. I don't know if I'm going anywhere with this... I'M JUST SO HAPPY! Great episode! -
Finally getting to watch the episode with sound. Halfway done. Drunk Britta in this episode is so freaking adorable.
"This is who I am…"
I d'aawwed so hard.
Jeff and Britta are amazing in this episode!
I noticed a lot of call back jokes in this episode, which is really nice to see. From the result of the "grease fire" from the College Humor video, a remake of the hotdog gag from the pilot, and Annie's Boobs.
This episode is exactly what we needed, not an spoof but an episode full of heart.
